- The latest film from Quentin Tarantino, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, has two of the world's biggest male stars in lead roles - Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.
The film follows the close relationship between a struggling actor in 1960s Los Angeles and his stunt double.
Ahead of its UK release this week, the pair sat down with BBC Breakfast's Charlie Stayt to discuss getting fired, and almost getting fired, during the early days of their careers.

Well the reporter sounded like he knew the story very well bc BP did tell that story before. The reporter asked the question very quickly qith all the words in it like " steal a line" exact thing BP his said in previous interview.

That’s because they get to wear branded clothes for free at events. So they try and wear normal clothes as much as they can. Normal people have to buy their own branded clothes so why shouldn’t they show off?

As an actor, I love Brad Pitt for that story.
Love his story telling to Leo! Winner! Brad-Leo tandem is masterpiece. Both most talented & versatile actors!! Brad is such a generous actor in a way that Leo is the main role.

Anybody that is starting out trying to make a go of living their dreams but is getting disheartened at the lack of progress needs to watch this.
Leonardo DiCaprio was a child actor and pretty much never needed to start from the bottom.
He couldn't relate to what Brad Pitt was talking about.
Brad Pitt legitimately worked his way from the bottom, being an extra, waiter, bartender, doing odd jobs, etc.
they are both excellent actors though
Leo still had to hustle. From memory, he and his mum lived in a poor part of LA till he made proper earning, so he wasn’t born into money.

I’ve been super impressed with Pitt ever since Interview with a Vampire, he stole the movie with his genuine subtle performance in contrast with Cruise’s flamboyant over the top intensity. He brought the ‘humanness’ out and the tragedy of his situation. He looks great..I would guess he lives a healthier lifestyle or who knows? could be great genetics.
I love Brad but Interview with a Vampire Tom Cruise as Lestat stole the show. Even Kirsten Dunst was so good in that movie. Really love that movie.

On the set of Social Network the PA taking care of the extras said "Anyone who wants a SAG voucher can have one at the end of the night" But since i was new i had no idea just how rare that is for a production to just hand them out for everyone and didn't take it. I still joined SAG but feel a bit silly not knowing just how coveted they are.

I think the reason Brad Pitt has stayed a heartthrob up to today is the size of his head. Most male heads get bigger throughout life making them less attractive. Brad’s head has stayed consistently the same size retaining his good looks. Like, look at DiCaprio’s noggin. It’s huge. It just keeps getting bigger. But Brads is still small. Tom Cruise also continues to get big roles as the result of a non-growing head. Interesting indeed.
Leo is just chunky. Brad can probably do pushups with his chin.

I did some extra work in the DC area between 2004-2005 whenever a film was being shot here just to see what it was like. I don't think I was ever caught on screen though. I did "Syriana" for a scene filmed in Baltimore which went on all night as a member of a party on a yacht which was eventually cut from the movie. The only person relatively famous on set that day I believe was Alexander Siddig. Another was a Michael Douglas film called "Sentinel" where I was just some random citizen walking the streets of Georgetown when he got into a cab. And the last was "Invasion" with Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman. I was surprised by Nicole's height but I'm only 5'8". Nicole was wearing flats and she was just as tall as Craig who was in dress shoes. I was about fifteen feet away from both of them wearing a tuxedo in an Embassy hall scene while they were talking and also at a table in an Embassy dinner scene talking and laughing it up. I thought I might get caught on film in that one since I was close by the two leads and actually felt like I did something for a while unlike the other two. All three were night scenes with a lot of waiting around, especially the first two. Extra work is paid shitty (compared to my real job but better than fast food work) and is pretty forgettable work. You could only make a (shitty) living at it consistently in LA if you did it everyday, but you can't of course, as it's mostly just used as a stepping stone like Brad did very successfully. It's only the "glam" of Hollywood that makes it feel like it is more than it really is.
