@@BevansDesign It is used so the welders only ever build one or a couple of layers at a time. If the glass wasn't there, the welders would start to weld all the blocks that don't intersect with the hitbox of the welders, which gets messy very quickly and can cause unwanted collisions and random destrustion of your builds, while building. It is glass, because you need a thin layer in front of the welders, that they can still reach through. A full block wouldn't work. Catwalks and such can work aswell, but I only ever use glass for this purpose, because you can see the welders.
It's pretty common to have a welder wall set up like that. The glass provides a a solid surface to rest against to protect the welders and makes it easy to gauge where the welding area is. Having a projection built off a rover is to help prevent issues, for instance the plane mod can cause serious issues when printed if it's connected to a static grid like a base.
My thoughts on it: "oh, so by leaving the wings incomplete they can pull it outside where it can be finished in an open area. Clever." A minute later. "Aaand now they are finishing it indoors. Great going guys, you missed the opportunity."
I feel deceived. I was promised a relaxing video. Instead I watched a stressful video of engineers struggling to maneuver their vehicle. I call shenanigans! XD
projector goes on the tug and you just pull the design out of the wall. If you are building hydrogen designs you can have tanks on the tug and run a hose into the printed ship to fuel up while you print.
On servers, you want to use a tug. In sp you can go with a double or triple piston extender above the glass wall. Stuff a rotor at the end. Give the rotor a small head. Then, put the projector on that small head and bring down a line of blocks to link to the projection. Then use the pistons to push the grid very, very, slowly, out of the wall. (This can work on non modded servers. However, you will be summoning Mr. Clang at your own caution)
Wanted to see that welding arm in action like this since it first appeared, whether it's how it's set up or just learning over time they seem very competent with it for such an unwieldy looking arrangement. Very impressed.
That welding rover thing is genius! Way more storage than a ship and no thrust issues. I rebuilt it in my singleplayer world and used it for everything. It's surprising how rarely you actually need a flying welder ship. Most of the time the arm of this rover is long enough to reach whatever you're building.
this is actually very fun to watch... me and the boys also always hang around when printing... we do it to be efficient but then at the same time we stand around like dads at a bbq wattching the grill
I would like to see more, i don't have any friends that have SE and seeing what players can do in multiplayer without any plot armor gives me some perspective on how servers work.
Don't watch much space engineers content at all, and I never play it, but I enjoyed this immensely and would watch more timelapses of players building of yours in the future if they come out :)
Just came across what I think is the coolest mod in all of space engineers. This needs to be added to the official release like now!! The water mod as it's known is freaking awesome!! It adds so much to the game and I even been able to draw in water from a collector and turn it into ice. Since the game doesn't recognize water anyways at the moment. So this weird quirk actually works amazingly well. You could actually build Rapture now which I think probably someone has already done. But can think of so many uses for this. Space Engineers keeps getting more awesome by the day! :b
hey mate i really hope this does not come across as rude. i love SE and i love watching your videos you really do showcase SE unlike many others. But this was fantastic i really liked it from start to finish. and the crew you were watching are beasts nice work
How cool was that large grid crane welder?!? :) Fiddly tho.. Watching all this painful work makes me glad of Dummy Industries Build and Repair! Bugger doing all that welding!! :D
5:03 Player A: We just build a propeller plane in the cave base! Player B: BRILLIANT! Player C: How are you going to get it out? Player A & B: Uhh... *Jump to 5:20
The first group shown has to be called "organized derps", cause from one side they are very clever, but from the other it's almost like watching flip and flap :D
So, I am new to the game... How do they create the lift for the plane to take off? Is it a mod? or are there some specific blocks that generate upward lift?
If you mean the ones with a huge spinning printer head, Kanajashi built a super sized one in the current series for printing sky scrapers (episode 52 or so called "deploying the mobile printer" shows it off with previous episodes building iterative designs) which explains how it works and some problems with the method. It shouldn't be to hard to find and he's one of those builders that clearly explains why he is doing something making it really easy to learn from him. His elevators are particularly inspirational thanks to some custom scripts a viewer wrote for him.

Door shuts, other player trapped outside:
"Let-me-in, Let-me-in, Let-me-in!"
never thought about pulling a BP through glass like that, nice.
I see that a lot these days. I'd like to know what the purpose is, if it's not just aesthetic.
@@BevansDesign Doesn't it automatically create things that way?

Figure it's also a decent safety barrier for when the wall is on and people are moving about.
Nice to see the day-to day lives of the server's inhabitants.
Gamers living in their native habitat is indeed a rare sight.
The wings being just a little too wide for the doorway was perfect.

I could just imagine their conversation as they realized that
@@TrueMohax even better they flew off with an engine missing :D
ayporos
“Engine 2 is out”
“How’s Engine 1”
“WE HAVE NO ENGINE 1!”
I've never thought to build like that. That's an awesome idea. People are so creative
It's a pretty clever way to do things
I love the detail the players put into making their bases!
I can't be the only one who got pissed when they flew away with a missing engine
I bet you they were
I feel deceived. I was promised a relaxing video. Instead I watched a stressful video of engineers struggling to maneuver their vehicle. I call shenanigans! XD
You can feel the sweat
Same lol. :b
Well, the title never said it was relaxing for the engineers. XD
1:50 THIS this is the kind of 3D printer i'm talking about wanting to know how to make
Actually simple, just mount a glass wall in front of a welder wall.
projector goes on the tug and you just pull the design out of the wall. If you are building hydrogen designs you can have tanks on the tug and run a hose into the printed ship to fuel up while you print.
Might be batter with a piston

@Saltmine Nome it’s worked fine for me on all other plane servers btw idk what mods they have on this one
Lessons to learn: 1) These guys build better than me. 2) They need a bigger workspace. 3) They need a wider door!
lol, when in doubt, stand on the back of the car
we need more of these types of videos
Wanted to see that welding arm in action like this since it first appeared, whether it's how it's set up or just learning over time they seem very competent with it for such an unwieldy looking arrangement. Very impressed.
I can get behind these types of videos. Short an entertaining and seeing players just do what they do is sometimes quite fun :D

I absolutely love those wielders behind the glass. It makes for a very futuristic and industrial style machine setup.

That Construction Rover Is Cool.
We seriously need more videos like this. Calming and interesting to watch!
That articulated boom welder is cool !!
5:18 the holding vehicle getting thrown away
The landing gear lock on that door... Man i wish i could get into one of these games with them. Geniuses!
I'd love more videos like this. I enjoy seeing them go about their days.
I like videos like this. Its a nice break from awesome space battles to see people having fun in their own little worlds.
this was super cool, especially as someone new to the game seeing how people go about doing things
This sort of stuff is why I wish I had space engineers, let alone friends. They have such a dynamic building system!
It calms me to see multiple players working together like this. Whenever i play with others it ends up in chaos
As somebody who doesn't play a lot of Space Engineers, this was a lovely video. Really enjoyed the concept!
Aww the creativity that comes with space engineers it always so great to know that you made that no one else that it's unique
I would watch more. The welding crane thing was really cool.
Idk why but I just recalled the old days with Henry. Those were good memories.
Such a simple video but so lovely to watch.
absolutely love this. it's been 6 years since i've played this game. i'm going to have to get back into it...
This is great and relaxing I would love to see more

Always wished i could timelapse myself building the satisfaction of seeing it built from scratch is amazing
Damn, that was fun to watch. No words, just awesomely efficient building.
Please do more like this. Love seeing they're vehicles in action
To just think this isn't just for show is just amazing to me.
I like the Space-Engineer-style 3D-Printer
I want to Series where you see a start of a colony and an end of colony even showing the boring/relaxing moments and the stressed or combat moments
I mean, colony survival/colony wars kinda fits what you're talking about
That welder is great!
not the most effective printer, but definitely most engaging one! Love it!
that mobile welder ship is like a gentle giant

This was a sweet cool video, more please.
Maybe im new to SE Universum and I know a lot of things by experience gained in other games, but this thing at 1:26 blew my mind, dayum
You really need to do more of these kinds of videos
i liked the way they build that plane at the end
That build technique from the 2 mins mark is pretty clever
I feel like a newbie after watching some of this, the ways people got creative. I’m decent but this looks awesome
Love how they spent so much time moving that welder arm into place to weld up one wheel...LOL
I always love seeing Splitsie's timelapses, and this was awesome too
Edit: I also love your new logo
that twisty hangar exit was epic xD
you should set up relative cam mod for them intro shots with takeoffs and whatnot
The underground bunker is a really cool idea
That was actually a form of genius.

okay on how they are welding it at 2 mins. loving it. i would have done it by hand thats how noob i am lol
More please :)
Spying on players while they work Relaxing Building Timelapse now we know something Spying is the best content ever
Really like their crane welder
God I wish the Planes parts, or any sort of Aerodynamics mod would work on Xbox. Building a craft like that looks so much fun
HAHa imagien the plane crashes into that mountain at the end lmao.
Wouldn't say "relaxing", probably just the lively music makes it not so for me. The idea is decent though.
i loved this more plz
Loved it.
That was amazing
What music did you use for this montage it’s awesome
awesome video
I'm sorry I just saw a plane in space engineers, I'm gonna go and bleach my eyes
These are the kinds of things i wish i could participate in, damn server latency, damn slow ass Aussie internet
i want more of this :P
OH MY GOD I HAVEN'T PLAYED THIS GAME SINCE 2015 HOLY SHIT IT LOOKS SO GOOD
The first group shown has to be called "organized derps", cause from one side they are very clever, but from the other it's almost like watching flip and flap :D
i like this really cool
this is very cool
Pretty cool more plz
idk why but this is kind of cute
This is cool. I assume mods for the plane? Neat scorpion-esque prehensile welding arm, I never quite got that right.
So, I am new to the game... How do they create the lift for the plane to take off? Is it a mod? or are there some specific blocks that generate upward lift?
Mod
Zapps pretty efficient
Super cool
Awesome. I can't wait to reinstall the game so I can mess around with that hinge block.
this is fucking cathartic
tell u what, I'm high as fuck and that video was epic. id watch a 1 hour compilation of cool stuff like this
Could you do this again?
I wana see one of the spinning printers in action. Ive always wondered how they work

Yo you know what would be cool for the water mod the hunt for the Bismarck
That would be cool
How does that welder truck work? Are they tweaking each hinge or is there a script or timers?
More of this
Loved the video LSG! How's the Heli-Carrier at TOD's base going along? Because I would really love to see it in action!
Very epic
Wait, you can make holo blue print things and then build them outright? I need to have this knowledge.
