The slot is interesting, since it's meant to let the piston build more speed before it hits the full seal section, which lowers air volume but raises air speed, I think it'd probably shoot worse stock without the slot.
That is correct, without the slot, the ball will start to travel down the barrel when there is less pressure behind it. The slot allows for much faster piston acceleration to make the best use of the shorter stroke.
About 5 minutes from getting home mine is modded I didn't even open it just wrapped electrical tape around a old spamf barrel I had and it works like a dream
Great video man! The orange piece that connects the spring to the barrel oddly broke on mine (Maybe just around firing less than 100 times) The blaster still work, you just have to open the barrel manually.
You really should check out the konglie t21 quick disassembly blaster from biu blasters, it even comes with a holster that works with the fire rat, viper & other blasters with the same trigger guard
@@thatoldnerfguy I like mine. The slide return spring seems a bit heavy & it needs some silicone grease to work smoothly when you get it. I'm sure you can find a way to improve it

Most blaster shop will sell standard 13x16mm barrel...just cut it to the desired length

Standard 13x 16mm... I never measured the Fire Phoenix Barrel (the one I put in the Pilot) but I'd say 20-22cm

what sizes are the brass barrels?
I didn't use brass... I used 13x16mm aluminum barrel. But for brass it's 17/32

I tried this now my spring wont catch sad
Catch spring or catch positioning...Also, I remember having trouble one time because catch was stuck open because the spring moved
