    Hi Ashley, I am a doctor.
    I like your video.
    From the way you studied IB and your curiosity for life science and nature, I am sure you will be a great doctor soon. All the best with your medical career!

    I really should start doing notes before class, with the new curriculum and the way our school is run, we're about 10-15 contact hours short of what we should have 😅
    Side note, your videos are so incredibly insightful! I'm still in DP1, I'll come back once my final exams are through to update this comment haha

    This video is so helpful, thank you so much! Would you be able to do the same for HL psychology, please? Also, what is the best way to approach studying for the final psych exam?

    What a great video this is. I wish I could have watched it before starting IB. I'm now in Year 2 and have adopted difficult and inefficient methods and I've forgot almost everything. Do you know how I can restore the information strong and by understanding it. How can I apply these methods for the past chapters whereas tome's limited.

    Hey, I’m not sure cause perhaps I missed, but where can I find a complete, detailed IB biology syllabus - same one as you showed us in the vid?

    • @ashleysacademy7496
      @ashleysacademy7496  Год назад

      Hi! My biology teacher printed it out for us in that specific format. I think it must be provided by the IB to teachers. I also found it online as a random pdf at the time but an equivalent doesn't come up easily for the new syllabus on google now. But you can get the same detailed syllabus outcomes on Bioninja. The website with the new syllabus outcomes is here: old-ib.bioninja.com.au and the old website which has biology content organised under the old syllabus outcomes (many of which are identical to the new syllabus) is here: ib.bioninja.com.au - hope that helps!

    Can u please share when and how you started revising for final exams?? And what was your strategy for each subject?

      hey! you can see this a little in the "study hours" section of my video on getting a 45 - on the page of my bullet journal covering exam prep, for my November exam session you can see I started in late September. In Australia in around August we also have school exams which test us on the entire syllabus, so I also studied for about two weeks for them. So I was studying full time when school finished from the end of September but I had been studying in the afternoons for those August exams since about late July.
      I'm trying to integrate the study strategies I used for each subject's final exam into each of these subject videos. Was that clear in this video or my others on maths/English if you've seen them? If not, lmk and I'll try to make it clearer for future videos :) But I'll definitely keep in mind a video summarising how I organised my exam prep overall

      @@ashleysacademy7496 My exams start in may, and tbh I feel so far behind my preparation.. I watched most of your videos and that gave me the sense that it’s already too late to start implementing those tricks😔 but still thankyou soo much..I really appreciate your work❤️

      @@feni8259 That's still 4 whole months away! If you think about studying a couple of hrs every day, that's going to add up to a massive amount of time learning!! Plus, I think a lot of study strategies like writing out your mistakes from practice exams and actively testing yourself on the knowledge apply equally for final exam prep the same as for consistent study. Very few people are as type A as me throughout the two years and many still achieve great results - so I hope you won't feel too disheartened! If you can focus on tackling one element of the syllabus you feel behind on, one day at time, I'm sure you'll be surprised at how much you know come exam time

    Where was the best place you got practice questions and papers from? :)

    • @ashleysacademy7496
      @ashleysacademy7496  2 года назад +2

      I got past papers online just by googling and finding random websites like this one: ibresources.org/ib-past-papers/
      I also had the Biozone IB Biology Student Workbook. That has lots of questions and our teacher would set us homework from that each week but they're not in exam format like a past papers so I feel like it's good to use throughout the 2 years.

    Hey Ashley I just wanted to ask, did you get into direct entry med in Australia?

    • @ashleysacademy7496
      @ashleysacademy7496  2 года назад +1

      Yep, kind of - I got direct entry into a combined medical degree of Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Medicine. So I completed 3 years of my undergraduate science degree (in the same way someone who entered medicine via a graduate entry pathway might do) but my admission into medicine at the end of those three years was guaranteed based on my IB marks and the interview that I did at the end of high school. So I didn't sit the GAMSAT or have to do another interview

    Were you study mostly from the book or from the slides ?

    • @ashleysacademy7496
      @ashleysacademy7496  2 года назад

      Mostly from the slides because I liked the bite sized chunks they broke the information down into. You can find a whole bunch of ib bio PowerPoints on slideshare if your teacher doesn't supply them for you :)

      @mtiqr7hdml293 2 года назад

      @@ashleysacademy7496 Thank you for your response. I wanted to ask this question because I was confused about where should I study from mostly. Some people told to not use the slides at all and only use the book. Others told me the opposite.
      Thank you.

    • @ashleysacademy7496
      @ashleysacademy7496  2 года назад +1

      @@mtiqr7hdml293 Yep everyone has their own way! I reckon as long as you're checking off the learning criteria in the syllabus as you go, then whichever format you find easier to take in is the best! And if there was a confusing slide, then it was always easy to have a flip through the textbook or bio ninja to get some clarification - best of luck with your bio studies!
