    Dear Dr. Omar Danoun;
    Thank you for your aspiring knowledge videos all about Epilepsy. May God bless you. In our case, corpus callosotomy surgery failed with averting Generalized Grand Mal and Drop seizures. In our case, could you please advise me on mordern advancements in how one can identify or localize a Generalized seizure-originating point for surgical intervention to stop seizures? If you could explore this topic as Video, it would be beneficial to me and others.
    With Kind regards.

    Hi Doctor,
    I have had these seizures for almost 4 years.
    Now I am going through extreme depression because of their actions in my life. Kindly suggest some solution to the fact that they are not getting reduced by many medications.

    • @DrOmarDanoun
      @DrOmarDanoun  Год назад +1

      When medications do not work then this is drug resistant epilepsy and needs different treatment which we explained in details in the video on drug resistant epilepsy... Also epilepsy is associated with depression that needs treatment as well. Please discuss with your neurologist

      @@DrOmarDanoun I've had seizures for four years. I have a tiny dot on both sides(one is in memory place), according to my surgeon. He stated that following surgery, he would also show me the part of my skull that was removed. But it only makes a difference if he did on one side. According to him, neither side will be able to do it. I must continue taking the anti-epileptic medication even after surgery. Yet I have been taking medications for 4 years, and they are ineffective. Every day I get seizures.

    greetings ✌ salaam
    i had LITT surgery in June 2022 due to mts-mesial temporal sclerosis at Riverside Hospital Columbus Ohio, successful procedure, healed well, brain functions great, the bladder catheter and rectum catheter were extremely uncomfortable 😖
    before this procedure i was having 7 - 30 focal aware seizures a week for over 7 years. after the LITT procedure, the auras have decreased to 2 or 3 a month!!
    many blessings of health & wellness to you all and may God be with you brothers & sisters 🙏🕊🕊

At the age of 18 years old she was attacked and since then she’s been having different types of epilepsy and the medication is not controlling it. I believe that she has a bowel problem and might have inflammation. Can you please advise if the new laser treatment or any other treatment might help? I really would appreciate your advice. Hello dr omar Danoun.
    I love your videos and content i think you are a vary smart easy to understand doctor. I have had temporal lobe epilepsy since i was born 21 years ago. I have had many very mild barly noticalbe seizures during my childhood. Soon as i took medication at the age of 7 i got un used to my seizures and they have slowly gotten worse and stronger ever since but medications are still effective. Witch makes me wonder how does the brain heal it self with the seizures being covered up by meds. but your content made me think about what els could happen without meds like worsening or stroke.
    My first doctor said ill out grow it in 4 years but its been about 14 and still no luck.
    I think in the future im going to get the laser surgery done once i do lots of research about it and see if its better then medication side effects for my hole life.

      In my recent years ive herd the use of weed could help epilepsy so i tryed it for a couple years to see what it would do 3 years later no luck ive given up on the weed infact i think it made my seizures worse in my case i dont recommend it.
      May 22 2022 i had the worst scariest seizure i ever had after not having any for many years. it was more like a grand male in my sleep. Someone witnessed it and told me i was walking and making no sence after the seizure. i dont remember nothing just a black sleep.
      Ever since ive been very curious of how my seizures would be while awake. more mild like when i was a kid or more like the grand male in my sleep. Maybe my grand male seizures only happen in my sleep. Sleeps seems to be a megnet for my seizures more then being awake.

We tried so many anti seizure medications, but medications made his seizure worse .currently he is having average 3 generalised seizures daily.Also his uncontrolled seizures affect his speech, sleep,ability to learn, mobility and so on. Presently, VNS in situ and he is on Epidyolex as well which are not helping him . Do you think laser treatment can help him? So I had abscence epilepsy from the time of when I was about 10 years old to when I was about 13/14 years old and i took medication and eventually I grew out of it. I’m now 18 years old and now I’m noticing that I have a hard time remembering a lot of my childhood and I can be a little forgetful sometimes, especially with peoples names. I also notice that I’ve been jerking and twitching randomly - usually when I’m at home and by myself my head will suddenly jerk or my leg or arm will spasm. It also seems to happen with sudden changes in temperature or emotion. Any suggestions or comments? Thank you so much
