We love crab legs but rarely ever have them. My local supermarket had a sale on them for $5.99lb, about half off. Picked up three pounds, ready to try them with the broiler method!
we dont really eat snow crab in maryland. we eat blue crab. with that being said, we also put old bay on everything from eggs to pizza to beer can tops.
Jordan Levin Are you being serious about putting Old Bay beer can tops? That actually sounds like something I’d like to try. The idea has never crossed my mind, but now I can’t get it out of my mind.
I love to feast my togue by dipping Crab Meat with some Garlic Butter Sauce Ingredients (Enough for 2 persons ) 1 pound Snow Crab clusters, thawed if necessary ¼ cup butter 1 clove garlic, minced 1 ½ teaspoons dried parsley ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper ⅛ teaspoon salt
You might want to spell restaurant correctly the next time, and crab legs are plural: Hence "the crab legs themselves ARE expensive, and good Lord you spelled whether wrong too!
My family has been doing this for years. I grew up on seafood, and that side of my family is massive. We don’t have the cutesy stuff like clamps and scissors or “crab crackers” for everyone. Especially with the soft snow crab. We use our hands and teeth but we are always super careful (especially for claw ends). But it is what it is. Sorry lol 🤣🤷🏾♀️
All crab legs you buy are cooked. They don’t freeze it until it’s cooked because it spoils too fast. We don’t get soft shell crab around here. I’d love to try fresh!
I never use shell cracking utensils. Those are for noob ass beginners. I learned my crab eating method through trial and error. Its good to see that ive not missed out on a better eat to eat them.
Yes boiling or stemming the crab legs are the easiest, I told friend then we have to get crabmeat from shell to Alfredo Fettuccine with crabmeat, her next statement was do you have something to crack the crab shell!🤫🤫😴
Thank you so much for making this video. You are truly a life saver. My daughter wanted crab legs today and I was clueless before this video. I thought it would be a lot harder than it was. She said they were absolutely delicious. I'm so happy I found your video and I look forward to watching more videos on your channel.😊
Thanks!! Although you actually CAN put crabs in salted water. Doesn’t lose flavor. And if you are using that method, cook for 8 minutes instead of 6. Paires well with Seared Scallops!!
You didn't say, but are these cook times for thawed legs or frozen? Thawed, I assume, but since most stores sell them frozen, just wanted to double check.
I'm from the Midwest and had very little seafood when I was younger. When I tried to cook crab, I made two major mistakes. I overcooked the crab and made the shell soft so, it is a major problem to get the meat out of the crab. I added old bay seasoning to the boiling water, and it would foam over onto the range top. What a mess! -------- Thanks
As soon as the crab come off the fishing boat, they go to the processing plant and cooked right there. Flash frozen and shipped all over the world. When you get them to your house, all you are doing to heating the meat to the desired temp. Personally, with frozen crab legs, I allow them to thaw totally. Drop them in a large pot with a basket and allow them to steam and not boil. If you do boil the crab, add salt to the water but never too much. Steam for 10 to15 minutes. Eat until you blow it.
It's so refreshing to see a lady cook with plain nails. Let's be realistic, can we really trust those super long, chemically painted nails to have come from authentic work ethic & valuable experience in the kitchen? No... So I really love how this lady kept it real. Hers are some real cooking hands, ppl~~~👏🏼
Straight to the point in 4 minutes. Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks 🙏
Yummy
Yes😂
Are you feeling it now Mr. Krabs

@Anthony O It turned out great! Thanks for asking! I didn't even have to add that much to it, just some lemon juice and that was it! Delicious!

Most crab you buy in store is already cooked- all good reheating methods though! Yum!

I can promise you you can cook w/ long nails. There's nothing long w/ long nails and if you do em right you can do most things w/ em
I got crabs once... in Chicago.
I love crab legs so much
Oh no! In Maryland we steam it with old bay & use garlic butter to dip those crab legs lack seasoning
