The ROR guitar is a dream for me coz this is expensive AF. in comparison with the Synthaxe it's much cheaper and the tracking is on par with the Synthaxe (that shows how much the Synthaxe was ahead of it's time). That's why i just use the MadCatz mustang guitar (check that one. It's really a bang for your buck )
Sadly, this doesn't match the SynthAxe even in pricing, let alone features. The SynthAxe was MPE capable before the terminology even existed. Allan Holdsworth though so much of it, he wrote songs which could only be played on the SynthAxe. It also had unmatched tracking because it tracks the fingerboard and not the strings at the saddles.
Wasn't the SynthAxe pricetag around 10k? 4.5k seems reasonable next to that. I heard that Allan Holdsworth would sometimes tune in 5ths but I am not sure what songs. The Expressive MIDI Pro II does have fret scanning technolgy making it track very well and not the pickup at the saddles technology. @@scanjazz777 I did take a look at the video and there are some mistriggers and notes which didn't trigger in some of the fast passages, which don't seem to happen in the SynthAxe due to how it reads resistance values across the fretboard for each position and determines the event from that. It also supports string bending, which I don't think I've seen in that demo at all. There's one channel I forgot the name who now owes one of the SynthAxe units which belonged to Holdsworth and has some covers of the SynthAxe exclusive songs as well.

I will check that out thank you!
I owned a SynthAxe. I've not found anything that compares to it. Not yet anyway.
Let's not forget the Yamaha G10. Add a breath controller to it and it's even better.
I missed that one. Have you owned one?
@@scanjazz777 Yes, I have one now. Unfortunately the brain (rack unit) needs repair.
@@lunastratDoes it track well?
