Dear Luisa B, I can't thank you enough for your helpfulness and generous spirit, you remind me of Dave Smith the glass glider from the South West of England. Both of you inspire so many people.! Southampton UK
I love that video! I can see the technique of the Prosopon school. I have to say, I have a problem to achieve the beautiful texture. Are the normal in the art shop available pigments used??? Please help!
must use powdered pigments for texture, mix with tempera and dilute with water. Some Pigments that have a high texture are : burnt umber, raw and burnt siena, indigo blue, cobalt blue, mars red, bohemian green. I'm sure you can find others. coarse grind or large grain size might be a good indication of texture.
Luiza B How about the gesso? Should it be first closed (solution of glue) or should it be more absorbing water? How much water and how much egg-emulsion in the mixture with pigments?
Are your highlights the same color in different densities and are your floats the same color just layered or are your floats different colors to the base color?
Scuze, dar nu cunosc. In schimb pot spune ca multi care restaureaza in Romania repicteaza de fapt icoanele, in loc sa pastreze detaliile originale... asa ca sa aveti grija.
Beautiful, thank you for posting this. Where do you buy your brushes & what type to you use? FYI, the link to your store to buy prints doesn’t work. I can see the images but there is no way to purchase.

Thanks, I appreciate this. I did remember I could mute the music half way through.

thank you
This was a very informative video. I learned a lot. Beautiful paintings.
Nice video. Could I suggest using Russian Liturgical Chanting music?
Nooooo, not Russian. Byzantine. Russian chant is too western.
Painting a Rublev copy-
“RUSSIAN CHANT IS TOO WESTERN FOR THIS VIDEO ABOUT A RUSSIAN ICON”
The repetition of the music is awful. Your painting is lovely tho.
This is simply magnificient. God bless!
Great video! Keep posting!
Greetings from Serbia
thanks!
Increible! Me encanta tus tecnicas. Saldudo desde Montreal ☺
thank you!
Fantastic. What's the symbol the angels are holding?
Amazing!
So gooooood.
Thanks!
Bellissime icone 🌺 complimenti

kremer pigments is a good place to get powdered pigment.

@@imatrOlda you can buy a pre-gessoed board and save yourself the headache. pandora pigments sells them: pandorapigments.com/shop.php?cid=47
@@imatrOlda the ratio of egg emulsion to water is roughly 2drops of egg to 10 drops of water.

Very rarely do I use the same color for 2 layers. Usually they are all different colors
muchas gracias; me gustaria mucho viahar a Mexico!
What is the name of this egg tempera method? Its really interesting :)
Nice, but the music is too aggressive :-)
Noted!
Foarte frumos ☦️ 🙏😍

Hello where are you?
I nerd more yours videos!!!
I al un Argentina,
you can get more videos from Prosopon School of Iconology in New York City. Their tutorials are very good!
The second highlight on the hands, do you use a dry brush?
for highlights I use diluted paint but with more egg and less water, although I wouldn't call it dry brush, it is much dryer than the float :-)
Stunning work. Do you offer any online courses . :)
Coming soon
@@luizab221 . Hi Luiza. Will you be offering an online or video course soon.
could be a great video, but use a different kind of music, this repeating toink toink is incredibly annoying
THIS IS NOT RUSSIAN OR BYZANTINE ICON PAINTING TECHNIQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It appears to be the Prosopon School method. It is perfectly legitimate and quite lovely. Well done! ☦️
You should just stop. This is painful to watch. Every painter of the last 5 centuries are cringing in their graves.
