I have quite an interest in vintage razors and the Rolls Razor is certainly pretty unique in its working. It's almost the perfect bridge between a straight (cut-throat) razor and what we think of as a safery razor. They do give a fairly rough shave so aren't the best for everyone, but in these days of people wanting to use fewer throw-away products, they are a great option.
I have an interest in this as well. I plan on buying one of these sooner or later. Specifically for using daily, do you have any types that really intrigued you/ work exceptionally well that you recommend?
They are still pretty common on eBay and antique stores. Getting them to shave takes some work, and requires a different technique compared to a modern 5 blade monstrosity.
@@kds471 I have a similar one and it produces one of the most aggressive shaves I’ve ever had. It’s neat but I usually go with a single blade safety razor.
That’s neat. Did you know that medicine cabinets had a slot in the back that you dropped used disposable blades between the studs in the wall? Imagine decades of used dull blades in the wall when you open it up to remodel.
Its amazing who we think were far more advanced then previous generations. Then you see how advanced they we're. Like thats more eco friendly that disposable razors today

I have one of those!! It belonged to my grandfather... it even has the box with the instructions still in there 😊

It's amazing to see how many people have one of these razors or had one, it's truly a small world at times.
Or there's a whole lot of liars
Are they still made today?
And i bet it is still cheaper than a pack of 4 x fusion razors
Well you can still buy safety razers, a pack of 5x gillette 7 o'clock blades cost less than a dollar.
Get my blades for around 6p each
my exact thoughts.. we need to go back to inventions like this
@@joee374 Where from?
Safety razor or shavette (knife is ok but a pain to keep sharp) is the only thing that really works on tough beard. Exept that bloke that used an axe.
I love older inventions. It's just awesome seeing the progression of human culture and technology.

you cant possibly mean to say that cartridge safety razors are progressive instead of these reusable blade safety razors.
