V AMAZING acting out all these emotions of fear happiness sorrow furious, in a 5 minute music video is crazy because we see actors failing to act out a single emotion in an 1 hour long episode but here he is, the versatility is showing 😭They they forgot what they were running from because through the lens of the camera, they were able to just love and enjoy life until the reality caught up to them and they were taken away ICRY 😭❤
Hi Jim, glad you caught the technology in this MV, just as I did. Because I am also an electronics & computer enthusiast for decades, I also noticed the CRT's, digi-cams, vinyls & VHS tapes, which made me wonder what was going on with the timeline. Right, I gauge the tech from around Y2k as well. No current tech. But I still don't know why. You were the only one out of many reactors that noticed the "vintage" equipment. I have tons of vintage electronics & ancient computers, such as my C-64's, 8088's & 1980's-90's VCR's/camcorders, heh. Anyway, another major theory that was getting spread was that the MV was a metaphor for couples that stay together for life, then die of old age, of which the box represents their eventual & guaranteed death, thus the Spring Day / Boltanski reference, where you leave all your material possessions behind such as your clothes. My Dad (RIP) left tons of VHS tapes behind. Either the old age theory & the intended theory of disability discrimination fits well. I too have said this would bode well as some sci-fi movie or TV drama, which would be nice if IU & Tae also acted in it, since they are both professional actors as well. I say that because for years I have always wanted to see the 7 guys make a movie or TV on the Bangtan Universe, but the upcoming official Bangtan Universe show "Youth", if it hasn't been delayed again, will use other actors & not BTS.
Finally!!! I really miss your BTS and IU reactions. This is a masterpiece ...music, song, voice, acting, video. Their chemistry is incredible!!!!Thank you so much for this reaction!!!💜

I'm now listening to love wins all again and as soon as it started I had tears in my eyes it's so emotional qnd that wqt I love also like I said before these two need to act in a kdrama with a similar concept to the mv.

It's Such a emotional yet awe inspiring message in the lyrics which is love conquers all no matter the ending.

IU is a very unique singer and is known as a national treasure in South Korea.
She encountered financial difficulties in her family when she was a child, so she determined to become an "adult" who could support her own life earlier. Because she likes singing, she decided to be a singer. She hoped to connect the hearts between "I and YOU" through music with emotions, so she took the stage name "IU".
Originally, she wanted to be a traditional ballad singer when she debuted, but because too young, she did not gain much attention from the public in that time(when she is only 15).
Later, the entertainment company tried to package her as an idol singer and achieved great success (in the year she was 18). But when she became very popular with the public at the age of 21 with her beautiful appearance and cheerful personality, she decided to regain her original ambition and embark on a completely different path from ordinary Kpop......She remake songs more than 20-years-old, and re-introduced the popular culture of the previous generation to the younger generation, and received a very good response from public.
From then on, Koreans no longer viewed her as an idol with only a sweet image, but instead viewed her with respect as a real "artist of music" who contributed to popular culture.
In additional to her famous angelic voice just like moonlight, she is also known for her versatility and is an award-winning singer, music producer, lyricist, also a top-tier actress and model. She has many popular songs written by herself.
Because she has held the belief that "love will eventually win" for many years, she wrote the lyrics and produce the project herself, and specially asked the film director she had collaborated with to film this MV.(The directer won the 2023 Blue Gragon Films Award of Korea)

In fact, the concept of "mountains of clothes" comes from 2010, it's French artist Christian Boltanski’s ambitious installation, "Personnes".
Due to its shocking, satirical and warning effects, it seems to be quite famous in the realm of arts... I checked the information and found that it has been re-exhibited in the third revised version.
Thanks, Jim, for putting this on RUclips. This mv causes me to tear up, starting from the opening piano. I'm thankful I only tear up now. The first forty eight times I sobbed and had pickled eyeballs. It'd be great if you would put BTS Sunday news on RUclips again. I really enjoyed it. I've never thought of a mini fridge being a murderer before. Thanks for your insights.

It's funny how you mentioned the clothing. It was apparently Sub-Zero temperatures while they were filming.
Not a reference to Spring Day. This is IU's song from a different label not a BTS song. It is a common representation of lost souls to use piles of clothes. I get that all of us ARMY think of Spring Day when we see them but everything is not linked to BTS and we need to pull our heads out of the BTS rabbit hole once in awhile. Everything is not always about BTS as much as we might want it to be.
In the restaurant scene I believe everyone is dressed in black and their faces are covered because when you are in love, it’s just the two of you that you notice as well as the dark dressed people, being the nameless, faceless masses, hold contempt for them for being in love and being different
I have watched several reactions to this mv & you are the first one to see her sign and go "wait is She deaf?" They generally ask if he is deaf. 😒
