I love this song! Jamais vu is french and is the opposite of the more well known deja vu. It means "never seen" as in experiencing a familiar situation that you recognize in some way, but that nonetheless seems extremely unfamiliar. In true BTS fashion they use the term to describe seing unknown sides to someone you thought you knew all about.
I love this song so much. The melody is so beautiful and really touched my heart from the first listen. Then, when I read the translation of the lyrics, I really connected with what they were singing even more. I could never choose who I think the star performer in this song is. Jungkook is perfection, Jin is perfection, JHope is perfection.
this is the type of song in which jin really thrives for me, his voice suits ballads sooo much hobi also fits surprisingly perfect in this song, he's a wild card that goes well on anything, same with jk
Jamais Vu (pronounced Jah-May Voo) refers to the feeling of experiencing something for the first time even though you have experienced it before. I saw a commenter down below say it was seeing new sides of someone you thought you knew, but I have never thought of it that way. My interpretation is that the pain you are feeling is not something new, but it still feels fresh. A pain experienced many times but it still hurts as bad as the first time you felt it. Maybe that’s coming through the lens of someone who has a chronic illness, but that is how this song feels relatable to me. Also, I read somewhere, and I don’t remember where or if it was a reliable source that this song is about someone suffering from depression.
this song is so underrated in our fandom, it feels like a very elevated song on their discography my favorite part is definitely the rap intertwined with the singing towards the end, I imagine it can't be easy to make two different parts match so flawlessly
This song was one of my go-to comfort songs last year. I was going through a pretty rough time and would play this song on repeat while driving around. Everytime Jhope comes in at the beginning I get goosebumps
Glad you’re back to doing BTS reactions. I don’t know if you reacted to the Festa 2022 conversation in another platform but just having you listen and comment on an old BTS music is reassuring. Thanks! It’s what Army needs to keep away the doldrums and stay positive while we wait for their solo and other future projects.
Once again listening to your reaction over and over again, sharing/experiencing this music with you adds new understanding and appreciation for songs I already love. Thank you!
This one is a favorite of mine. Our talented J-Hope wrote it, but in a discussion between the 3 of them talking about this song, J-Hope said that Jungkook pretty much "directed" it (meaning he changed it up for the vocal parts). Jin apparently put in a lot of high notes, but Jungkook took them out. lol Anyway, it's such a beautiful song. I wish I could have seen this one performed live (if they did it live).
Please anyone tell me why is this song soooooo underrated??🥺🥺 I started to check out BTS after listening to this song a few years back!!And I'm so glad. It's just happiness and positiveness for me eversince🤗🤗💜💜
I think the melodies for songs like Jamais Vu, Heartbeat, Bulletproof Eternal, etc are much better sounding, more beautiful and emotional than Yet To Come. I'm not a fan of the melody for Yet To Come. Left and Right for Jungkook with Charlie was very lackluster to me too, did not show off JK's vocal talent. Did not like the melody for that either, sounded too cheesy to me. Almost like Disney channel song.

When you know the meaning of the title, the lyrics of this song hits you even more... It has so much emotions behind 😢
