Great video, Justin! Would love to see a video from you related to shopify international fees...selling in foreign currency, conversion rates/controlling this manually vs. automatically, fees fees and fees. How it all adds up and how choosing which plan affects it.
You should make more videos about this topic. this topic isn’t being talked enough … I am from Unitef Kingdom and I’m scared to sell Worldwide due to tax rates … Because I’m not sure how much taxes to charge its too complicated … And also there ain’t many videos talking about it.
Thanks for the idea man! With Markets, it'll help you with worldwide VAT rates, but definitely do your own research to be compliant with local rates, etc.
That was my fear as well when setting up my Shopify store. I didn't know what to really do about international taxes and just didn't do it. Now that I see how many hits I get from certain regions, I think that I'm going to add some markets.
Hi thanks for the video! I have a question, I am from Asia and I have customers from US and Europe. I'm planning to make my own website with shopify. Currently i'm selling on Etsy and they will auto charged the tax and VAT from us and Eu customers, and they will give me the VAT number for EU customers to put on the airway bill. Can you explain how to setup for tax and vat (for us and eu customers) on shopify if I'm from Asia? or if you already made a video on that can you share the link? I really appreciate your feedback and thanks in advanced.
Hey there! thanks for your comment. This video was more of a macro overview on the announcement Shopify made, but I recommend you check this link out: help.shopify.com/en/manual/markets They have a section on duties, import taxes, and VAT, so check it out and hopefully it'll help you out!
Can you set up different products for each region in the store? I’m running print on demand so I have different print providers dedicated to each region so the shipping isn’t ridiculous prices.
I think your face don’t being fluidly is ok but the operation of the dashboard is not continuous which make me not know where you click the screen out from ,it’s a problem
Hi Please can you kindly help? I am new to selling on Shopify, When I update the website under the default market, the Uk market version does not update. Actually I don’t want a different website for different country as my business is only for service in the Uk. Can you tell me how I can turn this feature off?
Are you able to have different products available in one country but not other countries ? so if 2 people from different countries go to the website, that they would only see what is available for that country but not see what is available in another country ?
Hmm not sure if you can do so directly with Markets... But you can do so with some code. Here's an article on that: www.shopify.ca/partners/blog/customize-content-by-country
Thank you for your comment Jurriaan! The only area we're facing problems with our clients right now is with apps... It seems like some apps won't translate, and it does cause a problem for stores that contain some of these fairly popular apps.
@@JustinLalonde True, I spend the entire day on this topic. Tried to use a translation app including switcher widget. But it is not that easy as it seems. And do you know how to send confirmation mails (notifications) in each language when you use markets?
@@jurriaanvandeveer1295 Glad you found a solution! We also tried a few translation apps that didn't fully integrate with all of our existing store apps. For emails, I believe you just found out how! A little trickier if you're using something like Klaviyo though!
Thanks for the video! I just have one more question. if I want to deliver to the USA, my product costs will be €80. if I want to deliver to the Netherlands (where I'm from) It will costs me around €100. So it makes sense that my prices are different per country. But do I have to enter these prices per country myself? So it means when I want to ship worldwide I have to look up all the different prices per country? which are over 300 country's
Thanks for watching the video! It sounds like you're factoring in Shipping fees here. You would have to enter, yes, manually, shipping fees for each country that you're selling to. Unless your shipping carrier has a Shopify app and can automatically sync rates, but it's likely you'll have to upload fees manually per market.
BUT that only works if you have Shopify payments, for some like me that isn't located at country that shopify payments works demands me to opens multiple store for same products.
Please make a video on how to use different print on demand companies based on country/location of order. If US order, the POD is made/shipped in US. If EU order, POD is made/shipped in EU. Not sure if this is possible?
@@JustinLalonde I can't seem to get international shipping set up for printful. No shipping rates show when people add products to their cart and checkout
Thanks for this video! Shopify markets has the option to add different countries for the automated translation (?). If I use a translation app, is it important to disable all the languages in shopify markets or how does it work?? Shopify creates URLs for the different countries. I am not sure though if I can just enable all the languages without the need to install a language& currency app (due to loading speed issues) I apreciate any help.
You shouldn't do so. One pixel for everything, there is 0 case or evidence as to why you'd split pixel, although definitely split campaigns per market.
@@driouchmerouane5407 No, in that case, one pixel per product. But usually, very rapidly you'd want to move off from a general site to a specific one, and you'll find yourself back to one pixel essentially.
