This actually made me very sad. 🥲 I had no idea how dependent Puerto Rico was of imported goods. My mother, who was born in Puerto Rico lived on a land where they grew they’re own food. But those were different times. Her greatest desire is to return and bring the land she grew up on back to life. We’re in the U.S but she plans on visiting soon. I’m going to inform her of this place and see if she pays a visit. I’m just sad I can’t go. Best wishes. I support what you’re doing. ❤️

He didn't mention that they had turkeys, but they made themselves known.

I'd watch Latin American videos, I noted that most urban people live in concrete jungles. There no soil to grow anything since it's been paved over. And I see a rich person's huge hacienda with only a grass lawns. I hope urban people, in all countries, can appreciate elements of the rural lifestyle in their yard (or roof) and being self sufficient.

The island needs to be self sufficient in order to get out of the situation it's in.being dependent on the United States can not be guaranteed due to the political climate and who gets elected without going into detail.

I’m dumbfounded by the fact that 95% of their food is imported. That’s insane!! Puerto Rico is an island and in the past grew its own stuff. Why??!!

Keep it up brother! We the people of the world have a absolute obligation to train ourselves and next generation on self sufficiency, our very lives depend on it. Do not wait for government help, as so many word governments seek to hurt not help

Sadly, Puerto Rican politics will never allow projects like these to progress.

If homesteading and farming got bigger what do you think the government would do?

    • @EfrainRiveraJunior

@@InfamousAustinT0 - They were about to implement a "Sunlight Tax" because citizens are installing solar panels in their homes. That gives you an idea of what they would do.

Why is Puerto Rico importing food? I love that they’re doing this but the fact that PR lost over half of the farms in a short period of time makes me wonder if this is by design. I know it’s not about that but I wish this story would have gone deeper.
