If someone wants to learn what Islam is, he should follow the patch / Sufi / which Al Ghazali and the spiritual Sufi's teachers shows in their books.
Following of the paths, it means to mislead yourself.
Sufi's path of Islamic religion is the genuinely path.
I have read one book by Al Ghazali only . I don't know what its name in English language is, but in Russian language was
      "The elixir of the love".
Read it to understand the difference between Sufi's path and others.

@@rossemmanuel6545 all knowledge is interesting, the prophet said that wisdom is the lost property of the believer, he should take it from wherever he could find it.
But there is advanced knowledge and basic knowledge.
      Basic knowledge is alllllllot.
So it’s important not to be distracted by advanced knowledge while neglecting basic knowledge.
      And basic knowledge is sufficient.
The prophet came to teach Islam, he didn’t come to teach this path, that path, Sufism, Shiism. Wahhabism.
If a person learns how to perform the basic 5 pillars very well,
Faith, praying, paying charity, fasting, performing pilgrimage if they can.
If a person perfects doing that, then it’s ok to move on to advanced things.
Till then we have to remember that our brother has faith but has insecurities that he wants to be confident about, we don’t need to complicate things to him.
But I agree with you, al ghazali I heard he was a Sufi.
Personally I’ve seen Sufism, and I hate it.
It’s full of innovations. Cute stuff, chants, dances, it’s a waste of time.
Sufism doesn’t solve the problems of the Islamic world and world in general.
Sufism is probably good for criminals and violent people to calm them down and distract them with dances and spins.
It’s not good in solving socioeconomic problems, scientific problems.

There is one quote I heard from a scholar which I love, it says: "If we fall for our desires and follow them we descend to a lower level below animals, if we control them and submit to almighty Allah we ascend to a higher level than angels", the reason behind this is that animals are driven by instinct, and angels cannot sin, but we as human have desires and able to sin, so that put us in a difficult position, suppressing the desires and submitting to the creator of heaven an earth grant us that superior level.

As a revert of nearly ten years, now I am a teacher of Qur'an and Arabic in madrasa and imam of masjid, and I travel around the world learning and developing myself with teachers and shayukh al hamdulillahi Rabbil Aalameen, I can never be truly thankful enough to Allah subhanahu wa ta aala.
What you said at the beginning regarding your reasons for caution, this really resonated with me, as someone who took over two years of careful study and private practice, worship etc (knowing inwardly that I was indeed Muslim) before saying my shahaada. I also was very cautious about where, and with whom to begin my path. And that took some time.
I am based in Ireland. If there's anything a simple person like me can do to help please contact me for anything. In fact it was none other than Imam al Ghazali's Ihya ulum udDeen which pushed me to actually enter into Islam, as I had been learning and practicing privately beforehand, but was reluctant to join the ummah outwardly.
May Allah subhanahu bless you and facilitate your path by fulfilling every wish of yours, elevate you, and give you victory in all your affairs.
I am your little brother, please ask if I can help with anything.

The life of al-Ghazzaali needs to be discussed at length because he went through a number of stages. He indulged in philosophy, then he recanted and rejected that. After that he indulged in what is known as ‘ilm al-kalaam (Islamic philosophy) and gained a sound grasp of its basic principles; then he rejected that after it became clear to him that it was corrupt and filled with contradictions. He was focusing on ‘ilm al-kalaam during the period when he refuted philosophy, and at that time he was given the title of Hujjat al-Islam, after he had refuted the arguments of the philosophers. Then he recanted ‘ilm al-kalaam and turned away from it. He followed the path of the Baatiniyyah (esotericists) and learned their knowledge, but then he rejected that and showed the beliefs of the Baatiniyyah to be false, and exposed the manner in which they tamper with the texts and rulings. Then he followed the path of Sufism. These are the four stages that al-Ghazzaali went through.

@@TheBobbysPerspective you will find that even though Abu Haamid al-Ghazzaali had such a deep knowledge of fiqh, Sufism, ‘ilm al-kalaam, usool al-fiqh, etc., and even though he was such an ascetic and devoted worshipper, and had such a good intention and vast knowledge of Islamic sciences, he still had an inclination towards philosophy. But his philosophy emerged in the form of Sufism and was expressed through Islamic ideas. Hence the Muslim scholars, including his closest companion Abu Bakr ibn al-‘Arabi, refuted his ideas. Abu Bakr ibn al-‘Arabi said: Our shaykh Abu Haamid went deep into philosophy, then he wanted to come out of it but he was unable to. There were narrated from him opinions which sound like the Baatini way of speaking, and that may be verified by looking in al-Ghazzaali’s books. See Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, part 4, p. 66.
Even though al-Ghazzaali was very advanced in knowledge, he had little knowledge of hadeeth and its sciences, and he could not distinguish between sound ahaadeeth and weak ones.

I think that's why humans who truely find God and follow his guidance will be given paradise. Because they attained that state of control, they went even above the state of angelic. Because an angel by definition doesn't have to control himself, he is already good and obedient to God. We humans have a difficult time being good and obedient to God most of the time. The thing that makes Allah great is that we will forgive who he wants, even people with short comings will be able to enter his paradise by his grace.

Every time I click on your one of the videos I hope that you would share that you reverted to Islam. Not to haste you or to pressure you. But because I love you for the sake of Allah. There is a hadith that means if Allah love one of his creations, he orders the rest of his creations to love that one. The amount of love I see in your comments makes me believe that Allah loves you. I pray that Allah will allow us to meet in the Jannah if not in this life. May Allah guide us to his only one true path.

Imam Ghazali is a colossus of knowledge in Islam. He was not only an authority on Shariah, but also on Islamic mysticism. He also demolished the ideas of the neo platonic Islamic Philosphers who tried to understand Islam through the lense of Greek philosophy. His book “Incoherence of the Philosophers” effectively destroyed the arguments of this school, from which they never recovered.
Perhaps Imam Ghazali’s greatest work was “Ihya Al Uloom Uddeen” - The Revival of religious Knowledge, a book on Islamic ethics which brought together the strands of Sunni theology and mysticism to guide every Muslim’s life and death. At its time it was the most widely read book in Islam after the Quran and Hadeeth & widely praised by scholars and loved by laymen.

MashAllah Bobby, im so glad I found your channel I think around 2 years ago. Ive been a muslim my whole life, and watching how your search for knowledge, and how seriously you take it, its very inspiring for me as well. I honestly feel as a muslim I should try to adopt that drive for knowledge that you have. Alhumdulillah I've even also learned more about my deen throught you. When I started to see that you are close to wanting to take your shahada InshaAllah. Bro this honestly made me so happy man, like just in this video you said men shouldnt be too emotional 😂and I agree, but realizing InshaAllah that you are close that even, just really made me tear up with joy for you, so hey man exception to emotional rule, its okay for men to be emotional out of love for a brother 😂😂. I pray that if/when you take your Shahada InshaAllah, I pray that Allah makes the transition easy and gives you that fulfillment and peace in the heart that you have been searching for! Thank you for all your amazing videos my friend, would love to meet you one day InshaAllah ❤️

Also, please look into the works of Shaykh Abd al-Qadir Jilani. Some of the ones I have really appreciated are al-Ghuniya li Taalibi Tariq-ul-Haq (Sufficient provision for seekers on the path of truth), Jala al-Khawaatir (The removal of cares), and Sirr al-Asraar (The Secret of Secrets).
