- 'I'm in serious pain'. Private security, hired by Sadiq Khan's Transport for London to protect ULEZ cameras, have allegedly 'run down' an anti-ULEZ protester with their car, and then failed to stop. They were later pulled over by police.
The protester in question was left with 'serious injuries' to her leg, and remains on crutches 2 weeks after the incident.

Yes, but if the police are not at the scene of the accident you must report the accident within 24 hours. Maybe the driver did report it within 24 hours?

Yes, you should stop and give your details to the other party but there is a defence in that you may have left the scene of an accident as you were unaware of any personal injury or damage and provided of course you report it to the police within 24 hours.

Clever Cloggs, how easy do you think it is for an ordinary individual in such an incident to take out a civil action against individuals or companies without being able to identify who they are? These thugs and the people or organizations that they are acting for should all be held accountable by the police as criminally prosecutable crimes have been committed against an individual.
You are breaking the law if you manhandle or assault a person in the UK, likewise, it is illegal to injure someone with a motor vehicle and leave the scene of the incident. Clearly, this woman was injured by the driver of the white van as witnessed by those people present at the time.
The police should also be taken to task for failing to deal with the alleged assault and the motoring offenses seriously.

Well i dont doubt they are. They did probably get their details at the side of the road then and there and will be filling in a Traffic report and will add driving offences to that. I agree that they should have spoke to the woman and got her details (i may have skipped that part if she said she spoke to them). But there is a necessity to arresting. If the officer can establish all his details are true there and can contact him, theres no reason why a Caution +3 cant take place at a later date.
Dont use the argument, if it were anyone else, because its simply not true. If you can provide your details to the police and the incident is able to dealt with slow time, then they will choose that. Arresting someone isnt going to do too disimilar what a Caution +3 can achieve.

No it’s not, it is a criminal offence for them not to have it on their person. As when asked by police or sia they must produce it.
The reason most security have it on display is for one reason to show the public that they are licensed qualified sia security.

Yes, I saw one of these several days ago when 3 engineers were installing a ulez camera on a side street in Battersea, and with them was a big bloke, dressed from head to toe in black with a scarf or something pulled up to just under his eyes covering most of his face. There was no ID or SIA badges showing - he just stood around looking threatening!

A few months ago a driver was prosecuted for driving too quickly beside a group of cyclists - he didn’t hit anyone or even go that close to them, the woman cyclist just fell over, but the Police took the video footage and prosecuted the driver concerned.
Can we expect equality before the law in these clearly different circumstances where a pedestrian was physically struck by a vehicle, not once but twice?

I have SIA training and you must have your red badge on display while at work at all times or you will lose your licence and be liable for prosecution.

The conditions of this licence are:
you must wear your licence where it can be seen at all times when engaging in designated licensable activity
Lawfully protecting his property not unlicensed security guards breaking the conditions of their licence.
Sue TFL for injuries and loss of earnings. They'll pass it on their insurers.
No, they'll pass it on to the council tax payers.
