That's who I learned from. Both these guys. lucky enough to meet Johnny Woods in 1982 and hang with him some when I was living with R.L. and his family in the summer of 1982. By then Johnny' s drinking had sadly caught up with him and I never did hear him play, or sing the way he is on on these recordings I believe he made for Swingmaster Records in Groningen, Holland around 1978 where the owner Leo Bruin recorded many American Blues players that passed through Holland. R.L. and I played together between 1982 through 1994 professionally and before and after that some for kicks. If interested we are on MC Records Acoustic Stories, 1987 and Well,Well,Well 2001. These two Bluesmen were true "Hip Cats" Mississippi style Cool, Hot, and Deap. Their generosity towards me a young white guy in love with what they did, and who they were will always be forever in my heart and soul. RIP MR. R.L. BURNSIDE & MR. JOHNNY WOODS Jon Beckley Morris
I was lucky enough to see RL Burnside live at the Grand Emporium in Kansas City, MO. One of the last of the real bluesman and women who had direct connections to share cropping, prison farms and slavery.
I remember Johnny woods when I was growing up in byhalia Mississippi with some good friends of mine flash Gordon and some many other crazy boys and we would listen to her Johnny would play his harmonica he couldn't make it talk lots of fond memories back in the day Johnny with a blues legend
Love seeing them. play guitar two people having fun This type of music has added so much to my life Yes coming from a white guy ! Love all my brothers Keep it going Thanks
@@OakAthainNerin technical music that has deep feeling is one of my favourites. Check out thy darkened shade liber lvcifer, and ad nauseam first album. I know its such of a contrast but if you close your eyes while youre listening to it, its music driven by emotions but very harsh and technical

Awwwwwesome!!! He is a hoot I dig his attitude, he has hot mojo oozing out!! Bad ass bad ass style making a 6 string sound like a 12 string! That’s something hella special right there!! And like a GD clock he is in perfect time! Beautiful!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Anyone seen these guys up close. Woods looks like he's 5 ft and Burnside looks like a giant in this video. Was there really a size difference? No hate, great tunes, just curious.
yeah, u are right. we germans do not listen to music. just to that noise that u would call march music, duff da taa duff da taa, and of course bach beethoven and wagner, but this is not music, i guess

Greetings from the other home of the Blues, London England :-)
Yes, many Americans found the American blues from the British bluesmasters, the rock and rollers of the 60s.
@@1rocknroy it was sold back to American kids through white British kids. Before that, it was seen just more black music. They call it the Thames delta for a good reason.
@@1rocknroyHaha this is either sarcasm or the dumbest shit I've read in a long time.
@@mischkawischka5036 I think what the British rockers added was better sound quality that appealed to the American kids of the 60s.
does it get any better than this! The great Jhonny woods and RL damn magic!
Thanks for this gem.

14:17 rake strum pattern
He's a human metronome.
