@jaelenhenderson3037 lil bro?? You'll be telling me your pronouns next. It's an easy joint and she is in no way even nearly quick. I wasn't commenting from a position of not knowing, thanks.
Taping "mudding" as amateurs call it requires hundreds of hours to get good not even master. This is not something you just start doing. You need to know all the products and how to mix the perfect consistency as well. Your tape has to have the perfect consistency of proper setting mud under it, you have to put the perfect amount of pressure as well otherwise you will not have a flat enough surface or you will squeeze too much mud out and have bubbles or tape that does adhere properly. If you want to learn make a practice area and put many hours into it or you will have trash work and sand your way into a disaster.
@@jvill5milit really doesn't take a genius to do this work. i watched 2 youtube videos and nailed it on my first try. yeah i made a couple messes and had to fix a couple things but my landlord told me my work looked better than a lot of the pros work he sees. just do good work and dont ve sloppy. and yes research what is needed. but yeah i invested a hundred or so bucks in tools and watched some youtube videos and nailed it. a practice area would def have been a good idea but aint nobody got time fer dat!

@@WhiteWolff00 my bad man, didn’t realize you were on site, checked the joint for me and were able to tell how wide I should go to hide it as best as possible. It could’ve been finished with 6 inches too, doesn’t mean it would look good. Lol
Simmer, yes but you didn’t have to go 24 inches either. I said good job didn’t I? Probably better than I could do, I let the Mexicans do all the sheet rock on the houses I build.
Can someone please explain why the board is horizontal? It creates twice as much taping… Board is built to be placed vertical and actually comes in a variety of length to accommodate ceiling heights.
You end up using less sheets of drywall as you can usually install a longer sheet horizontally converging more studs. Also this way you stager the sheets which in many times serves as extra strength for the studs. I honestly think there is less taping this way or at least its easier to tape and mud, you usually have one long horizontal line in the middle and two more butt joints that are only 4' long each... not sure
Yes totally. That’s why the boards are built with bevels… so hacks can install them sideways… 16x3=… omg 4’ magic. “I can’t possibly understand why drywall sheets come in standard ceiling heights.” - some hourly dude. But please. I’d love to hear how more about how shorter tape lines are what the pros do.
Drywall is not as strong when you install it parallel to the studs. Also the framing these days isn't good enough to install the board parallel. It's because the walls are seldom on layout.

For real tjo. I could have been on my 3rd butt joint with a 10 inch knife by now!!!
You are looking at the wrong butt my friend
Not everyone can do this. I'm sure it was cleaned up after. Even then just hit it was the spatula when dried and you good.

@@lukemclaughlin4896and that’s why you have to sand for a week and she doesn’t 😂

Only if she's hourly haha
That last line that never wants to go away is what always kills me! “Fine! I’ll just sand it!” I always end up saying. DIY drywaller.
Just run a putty knife down it and very little sanding
Just use the correct technique with the tool and you get liftoffs not lines
Use a bigger trowel maybe 18 inch like I use
👍
You'll always have a lap line... if it's a vutt joint yu should have 2 line. One beside each feather, laid down as flat as possible
really good work❤❤
That is a lot of work for one 4 ft joint for sure !,👍✌️
Nonis perfecr
@@enzo3841ninth perfect? Wtf?
What exactly is the point of horizontal boards? So much more taping.
It's easier to carry the boards around horizontally and u can build the walls alone that way
They make butt seam brackets installed between studs to allow the joint to be flush, much less work in the long run…

The key to good sheetrocking: adding so much mud that you cover the entire sheetrock with it!! I kid, I kid!
Skimmed walls look great when they're done, though
How much sanding do you enjoy?
@@Insert-Funny-Commentever heard of an electric drywall sander?
