Yes but what I listen to the most (although I've been playing destiny for 8 years) is the Division Soundtrack (Maya) and the Deus X Human revolution OST. I can't stop listening to it.

These Destiny tracks get so much better once you're aware of all the motifs and character themes they work in. Hearing 'Bow to No One' reprised during this song for the first time was magical.
Exactly, Destiny OST are a master at using themes throughout all the stories. Bow to No one has special meaning when you hear it, because its a song in defiance to who at the time the players thought was the greatest enemy we had faced
Bow to No One still activates my fight or flight. It's too iconic inside of the game's high moments during Taken King.

It's funny you mention Lord of the rings as The Queen in question is the Awoken Queen. The Awoken are basically Destiny's elves. Forsaken Story is probably the most "cinematic" as it's theme is 3 movie genres intertwined. It goes from a prison break film to a bounty hunting "out for revenge" spaghetti western, to a fantasy "Lord of the rings style" Epic! All while taking place in a space setting. Loved this DLC.
Second best expansion they’ve ever done, only next to taken king
Destiny does a fantastic job tying in motifs from other iconic tracks in the game’s history which really pulls on the player’s heartstrings a lot more and ties the game together.
In terms of what is going on, this expansion definitely hit a lot of the notes you were talking about. You as the player are stepping away from your duties as a Guardian of humanity for the first time in order to avenge the death of a very beloved character. A lot of the darker tones reflect a moral battle the player faces about whether they are being an executor of justice or vengeance- and wondering if you are any better than the enemy you are facing. The epic fantasy (VERY lord of the rings) vibe you get represents how this personal journey of avenging a friend becomes part of a conflict at a much grander scale, less “me vs him” and more humanity vs the forces of darkness and entropy that are closing in on this final bastion of mankind. Very powerful stuff. Hard to encapsulate in one comment.

Wish there was a way to upvote this comment. This was one of my favorite expansions, although ultimately wish we would not have lost Cayde. His death being the catalyst to propel a new narrative that blossomed into guardians questioning whether what they are doing is right or wrong was definitely an ingenious way to revive the game at that point. Speaking of Lord of the Rings: Gandalf's warning to Frodo about whether he was too quick to deal out death and judgment in Moria has its influence written all over this narrative transition in Destiny's storyline.
Answer to the question, yes absolutely. Also as I said before in your Deep Stone Lullaby react, I highly recommend Journey and The First Disciple. There are also two new tracks that were released ahead of the newest content update for Destiny 2; Lightfall. Once they are officially released, I also recommend reacting to Battle Ready and Oneirophobia.

Seconding The First Disciple as many people have been saying to react to. Also, the new Oneirophobia track from Lightfall is already a favorite.
I really want him to react to raid final bosses' themes, specifically Keep of Voices from Riven which not so many people heard
Though he should listening to the full version posted by Prometheon, Archival Mind. Rather than the OST versions.
One he doesn’t have uploaded is “Drown in the Deep”. Would recommend the full game version (approx 11 mins), which is some (Tension), (Action) and (High Action). But the (Ambient/Tension) together combined with their action layer is so good too as a lead up! I don’t know why someone hasn’t recorded and put them fully together yet.
One of the best part of the destiny soundtrack is the constant recurrence of leitmotifs. Near the middle you can hear the guardians theme which is in almost every track in the game. And towards the end is the queens theme but well it makes sense to have that since it's in the name of the track
One thing you're gonna find the more and more you listen to Bungie's music and sound is that they never miss.
Their music is always good. The composure and performance are 110% every time.

Two songs that I whole-heartedly recommend are "Journey" from Destiny 2 and Destiny's "The Last Array". They don't have any relationship to one another, they're just both really good songs.

Man I love destiny tracks
This may be a little late, and someone may have already mentioned this, but at 7:05 this song basically plays a juiced-up and more bombastic version of a song called 'Bow to no one' which is a song HEAVILY associated with the Queen of the Awoken, Mara Sov, who is a major character in Destiny. Bow to no one plays when she dies in Destiny 1 whilst fighting against a fellow monarch called Oryx the Taken King and hearing it revamped in Destiny 2 was a real thrill. In Destiny 1's version, the vibe is much more sombre and lowkey, which reflects the Awoken a lot because at the time, we had very few interactions with them, and we didn't really know what was going on with them. In Destiny 2, this song plays when we are fighting to defeat Taken combatants that have infiltrated the secret homeworld of the Awoken known as the Dreaming City. By this point in Destiny 2, we have learned a lot more about the Awoken and are now fierce allies of them and so the theme has picked up to represent that change between Destiny 1 and 2.

What I'd absolutely love to hear, is Riven of a Thousand voices. Haunting, heroic, epic! A breakdown of such a piece would be awesome
At min 7:06 I love that part. I remember Cayde’s nightstalker quest “ what does it mean to be a hunter? I say it’s all about where you belong. The warlocks have their libraries, titans have their walls… but hunters belong in the wilds. Out there you wanna live? You better have a quick shot or a sharp blade. A lot of us are loners, but that’s not the only path. Some of us know the difference a fireteam makes. Some of us, we touch the void…make it a part of us. And then we take a name…night stalkers. Hunt from the shadows pin them down, and never let them see you coming.”
A really cool thing about this piece is that it recycles the main theme from a previous expansion that also involved Mara Sov, the Awoken Queen. That track is "Bow To No One," and is theme that starts at 7:05
another D2 track you should do from Forsaken is Shell of What Was which is mostly the main motif for Forsaken and became the theme of the Gambit game mode.
That track legit gives me heart palpitations because it also reprises during queenswalk

Ehh shell of what was def used in gambit, the warden of nothing strike AND the last wish raid, specifically the conclusion; the queens walk. It slaps regardless
In most games, music in a lot of cases is secondary, like it has its uses but besides that it takes a backburner approach. In Destiny in particular it is used to portray not only feeling, but meaning for the story and the moments happening. Once you are familiar with what is happening in each scene you can almost hear it in the music.
For this one, it is the loss and feelings of revenge for a close one we have lost in the game. And the battle pushing forwards. The hardship of having to come to grips with this loss and the aspect of "seeing red" and being blinded by rage and revenge. I won't spoil more since it is a very powerful sequence.
For other ones such as Deep Stone Lullaby that you listened to before, it is meant to frame the scene, to make you stop and listen for a second, the "Stop and smell the flowers" effect.
I would recommend listening to Oneirophobia, The Sanctified Mind, The First Disciple, or many of the other Raid boss themes as you can really feel the movement in them, almost as if you are playing the game, even if you aren't.
There is so many good Destiny tracks! It gives me goosebumps. You need to check out "Destiny 2 Original Soundtrack - Track 11 - Journey (featuring Kronos Quartet)" it will blow you away. Epic. Also "Destiny 2 - Journey (Vocal Variant 2)" which as you can tell is a vocal variant, both MASTAPIZZAS!
You should totally react to Journey from the original Vanilla D2, that and Dethroned from the Wtich Queen OST. Also Travelers dream! Destiny has SO many awesome tracks.

The story each song has not just in the moment, but for each time its played is always apparent with the music in Destiny. Making it my favorite video game music out there.

As much as I love the Forsaken tracks (though they make me sad), and the Red War ones are epic, my absolute favorite is Frigid Tomb from Beyond Light. It gives me such echoes of Terminator 2 ending vibes, and I think for a good reason.
I really hope they reprise this for Lightfall as well.
Destiny soundtracks have always been exquisitely mastered. It tells a story, even if you don't know the story. It's always pulled at my heartstrings. It's an emotional experience.

😢 I'll miss Salvatori's music on Destiny 2, he's been laid off from Bungie as a part or a 100 laid off's (8% of bungie's employees). I will have to just keep on listening to the tracks he has made so far; now it feels kind of sad hearing his pieces while playing and knowing he wont be composing for the franchise from now on 😢.
Music plays an extremely important role on series and videogames, i would even say that it represent the soul of a videogame. The soundtrack accompanies yourself for the whole game, so I dont understand why would someone cut that edge while deciding who to be laid off.

And that whole time, the Queen wished to return to normal space and aid the Earth they had abandoned. When she finally did, she and those who joined her seemed alien and inscrutable to the surviving remnants of Humanity, but despite their keeping their distance with far reaching and secretive plans, they are still Human after all. They are not perfect, but are always on our side.
