    What would YOU do with 6♠ 6♥ on the turn?
    Your Stack (SB): $69,620
    Their Stack (BB): $106,610
    Pot: $25,950
    Board: 6♣ 5♦ 3♣ 7♣
    You check, BB bets 18,000
    A) Fold
    B) Call
    C) Raise to $36,000 (small)
    D) Raise to $69,920 (all-in)

      I would call with the set. I think a 4 is unlikely and I could see aces, kings, or even queens with one club making that bet and I can always decide to fold if I don't hit a boat and decide he has the flush.

      B) call. Definitely call against a battling and aggressive player like LuDa Chris who s for sure calling the min raise on the flop with a wide range and might be betting overpairs with a club or even some floats with Ac as bluffs. The set can very well be behind but nick has outs and can definitely get value on the river if the board pairs.

      Knowing how Nick plays, it was indeed a good fold by Luda on the river.. however, given the action on the flop, (with Luda getting his pot-sized bet min check-raised), he should have just called the 9k on the river, especially since his flush wasn't a higher one.

      super smoo spot on. Luda chris didnt give any regard to the min click raise on the flop and its implication on nick s range. what about the small lead on the river by a player like Nick?! Is it ever a 4? if nick checks the straight on the turn would he ever lead river? Is nick ever block betting 88 or 99 that he somehow min click check raised on the flop and still called a big turn bet with? Alarm bells should definitely have sounded for chris on that lead but he just raised also not thinking of what he’s targetting and can get value from! Only nut flush or better should consider raising river given the action and the opponent type.

    hello can someone please explain to me how to calculate the minimum re-raise post flop (*note: I am not getting betting confused with raising)

    • @danielmdubois
      @danielmdubois 2 года назад +3

      A legal raise must as large as the most recent bet/raise. Think of the "delta". If Player A takes the bet from $0 (no bet this round) to $100, the next legal raise must be at least $100 more. So Player B could make it $100 extra ($200 to go), or $150 extra, or $3000 extra, or any amount higher than $100 on top. If, for example, Player B makes it $350 to go (this is a $250 raise), the "delta" is $250, and Player C is obligated to go to at least $250 above that (i.e, "$600 to go").
      The exception to all of this is that any player can go all-in at any time, even if the raise would have been less than the minimum described above. So if Player A takes the bet from $0 (no bet) to $100, Player B can go all in for his last $103. In this case if Player C wished to raise, he would be obligated to follow the legal minimum raise that Player A had set; i.e., a "delta" of $100. Also, if Player C, D and E all call the $103, no legal minmum raise has occured, so the action would not be "re-opened". Therefore, when action gets back around to Player A, he would only be allowed to call the extra $3 (or fold), and would not be be allowed to raise again.
      See: www.pokerrrrapp.com/single-post/minimum-raise-rules-in-no-limit-texas-hold-em

    B Call. 18k to win 61k, you need 29% equity,and you only have 10 outs = 23%. So you don’t have direct odds. If opponent has a flush though, it’s going to be difficult for him to fold to a river bet though. So I think you have some implied odds. Maybe 10% block bet the river if you pair up…

    I'm calling river. Not raising Nick's range is almost all flopped sets. Flushes we can almost discount entirely -AQ, AK or KQ of clubs prolly won't be so passive preflop. The only real club combos that you beat are 98c. There are almost no small flushes possible except 56, which is now a full 🏡. Therefore, we can narrow to full 🏘️ or bluffs on the river. And a bluff here simply doesn't sound probable at all, since every draw hit. A raise is a huge mistake. No worse hand will call except 98c, and even then he might hero fold.

  • @canadianbakn
    @canadianbakn 2 года назад +1

    Look I get that in practice a lot of players will simply never have a bluff here, but 10 to 1 or better is an absolutely absurd price, to the degree that I would just sigh call here. Again in practice we're almost never good but we only need to be good 1 in 11 to break even and I think it is way too exploitable to fold closing the action on the river getting 10 to 1 or better. There is a chance, all be it small, for some opponents to take this line as a sick exploit against us if they expect us to fold getting these odds, and over the long run I think if you simply call always in these spots when getting this absurd of a price you're not giving up a ton.

    • @canadianbakn

      Okay it's actually around 9 to 1 but I don't think it's enough of a difference for me to change my mind on what I would do here.

      I mean I guess you're technically correct, but the question is: If we're "sigh calling" then why raise that river at all? We're only ever getting jammed by better hands, and there are so many, and we're probably only getting called by better flushes. The raise is just a greedy "I finally made a good hand in a live game, so I must raise the river." At the river you're basically just bluff catching and beating A5s and over pairs with a spade. Actually such an easy call spot the more you think about it.

      Haz I wasn't the player in the hand that raised the river lol. I'm analyzing the decision as played.

    Nick is insane politically: he bet *in December 2020* that Trump would be reelected and again *in summer 2022* that Trump would be "reinstated" in August. However, he is on the tight side as a poker player, though not a nit. He is always good here.

    I'm calling! IF.....I have 4-6c....🤣.....Guy should have shoved "all-in" when he hit his marginal flush....Not impressed with the play at all....and his "luck" seems to run the way mine does....So? really not impressed.
