yes but they still have the 1 in 16 chance ie ALMOST never to trigger but the Vanish doom/X zone/Rhodox rage Intangirs to death doesn't work on this version and Wrex Soul can't be killed in that cheap way IN this version either since the 2 Soul Savers will actually be revived and NOT die when Banish kills both of them.
I'm sad that they didn't add the extra dungeon and espers to the pixel remaster, I would definitely buy it if it did, but I'm not going to since I have the other versions already with extra content there's no reason
Not gonna lie, death/doom spells feel pretty underwhelming in terms of animation compared to the OG skulls and grim reaper appearing to take your soul away
For the Hit EVERTHING on screen spells use Gaia Gear Armors Cyan/Edgar CAN'T equip it to absorb it and Flame Shields to absorb Meltdown Tornado Sucks since all it does is drain 90% of EVERYTHINGS HP when it connects only you can't actually absorb its damage so its the most useless of the hit all enemies/all party members at once spells.
Call me a "nostalgia blinded fan" all you want but pretty much everything that's been shown here looks underwhelming here compared to the original. To the render of the spells, the UI and how everything is zoomed out for no reason... Yeah, I'll stick with my SNES and GBA versions.
This honestly looks like crap to me. the spells are all ruined and lose impact. Sometimes i wish they'd hire me so i could give them good pixel art. drives me nuts

The magic spells got a hell of an upgrade in this one and im living for it! This is probably THE best remaster and port of the original game so far.
I wish they gave all the other games their own animations. At least FF4 and 5.
They left out the blue magic animation. Am I the only one who's bummed about that?

Yeah no kidding man, I said the same thing. The sprites are just brightened up some and a few things touched up. Not a real "remaster".
Try the t edition hack. Prefered the gba rom sound patched before playing it myself
