kinda hope they cut ties with marin, from what we've seen she wasn't exactly a good friend and the fact she never got a bf despite being cute means her personality is actually just horrible.
The MC said multiple times in the story that she has a bad mouth and personality. Every time he said it, I was like “And WHY are you still friends???”🤦🏿♂️
I like how at multiple points in the story she keeps restating "sorry but it's too late, I'm not giving him back to you now, he's mine"
Finally, MC was taken by a better girl, a pretty girl who give him better love experience than this flipping rotten Tsundere finally lost to a girl who truly loves him and not have it her way she wants it. She won't win her childhood friend back after this

Don't blame it on Kanon. The writers do their thing and the channels just translate, dub, and post. They don't control the writers. I know because I've ranted about it too.
Marin's not really a tsundere, though. Tsunderes have a rough exterior, sure, but underneath that, they're warm, caring people. Marin is rotten to the core.

Jonathan ends up with the better girl in Aina. On the other hand, Marin is full of Red Flags as she only cares about looks and literally judges him for being 'ugly' without realizing the handsome guy she saw turns out to be Jonathan. Marin also obviously never showed any romantic interest at Jonathan in the first place and serves her right for that kind of toxic attitude she displayed at him.
Good thing Jonathan made the right choice dating Aina. She's a keeper 😊

So this childhood friend had no idea how Jonathan looked despite spending so many years together but Aina somehow realised it? But it maybe a blessing in disguise because that's how Jonathan and Aina got together, and marin can rot alone unless she changes that attitude of her!
Well, sometimes when it comes to these childhood friend relationships, it's difficult for both individuals to simply see each other as a members of the opposite sex. Either it could be an attractive personality or an attractive appearance. Plus it sounded like Jonathan had his hair like that for a while now, so she never really got a properly good look at his face before.
Not to mention, sometimes those relationships can be taken for granted, especially if it's from the girl's side.

The handsome guy she fell for was the boy she’d been harassing. And now look at what that got her. No boyfriend. Ladies if you like the boy cut the tsundere crap and be honest. Otherwise you’ll end up as a walking L in terms of romance when a prettier kinder girl takes your place as a special someone instead of being the one by that special boy’s side and any previous closeness will be no more than a memory and you’ll live regretting it. Thank god, Jonathan end up with best girl Aina and not his childhood friend Marin. It’s sad that the childhood friend share a similar name to a well known anime character. Both of them even have similar features like they are blonde hair and brown eyes (Anime Marin wear red contact lens).

This was a great story! Marin was always putting Johnathan down, always chasing the "good looking" guys. But Aina saw him for what he was. Yeah, like a lot of us he just wore what made him comfortable, his hair wasn't stylish, but underneath that mop was a diamond hiding in plain sight. And poor Marin, until Aina talked him into letting her dress him up, poor Marin couldn't see the forest for the trees. Oh well, that's what you get when you're so shallow.😏
Marin learned a lesson which she'll never forget. She got what she deserves.
