    This is awesome! I'm doing some skiing at Sugar Mtn, NC, in a few months and plan on combining some of your NC trip with this trip (back to middle TN). I just visited the area at the 3:38 mark last summer and rented kayaks at that historic Texaco gas station. Also drove down some of those gravel roads around there in my 3rd Gen 4Runner and didn't realize that was part of the TAT (didn't know about it at the time). Gotta see more. Sub'd. How do you turn around with a trailer if you come upon a cloased gate?

    • @OverlandPioneers
      @OverlandPioneers  2 года назад +1

      A few ways. Typically gates are right at pull offs so a easy back up and turn around. Or a Austin powers 50 point turn. Worst case is back the trailer to one side of the trail disconnect after locking trailer brakes turn the truck around. Flip the trailer around and reconnect. Takes about 3 mins. So not bad.

(This is in my back yard and i am very frustrated with the seasonal gates and permanent closures, but just wanted to put the info out for others to know)
