I'm a member of the church, and every time I am dealing w a problem, I listen to this song and it calms me. I love my heavenly father, and this gospel so much!
I was able to meet the author of this song, Marla Thayne, at her home in Utah some years back and she gave me an autographed music sheet for my wife. The music sheet included the fifth verse that we seldom sing.
The music from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir have also featured in many films over the years. For example, during the opening scene of Madagascar when one of the animals is dreaming, it is the choir who sing the song.
This is like a second coming of Christ lullaby for me! My Grandma loved this song and sung it often. My mom sung it often too, and it has always been my favorite throughout my life! I find myself singing this almost daily. Now I have a 2 year old girl who Loves to sing this! Simply glorious & sweet! This is a wonderful addition to my primary songs playlist!

It's a wonderful story, and part of our family history. I was fortunate enough to know her. It has been a favorite ever since my childhood.

They can wear jewelry. If you look again they are wearing earrings. Their outfits are carefully planned and when they perform they do so uniformly.
Just enjoy the music why would jewelry make any difference .?
