- Graham Hancock, formerly a foreign correspondent for "The Economist," has been an international bestselling author for more than 30 years with a series of books, notably "Fingerprints of the Gods," "Magicians of the Gods" and "America Before," which investigate the controversial possibility of a lost civilization of the Ice Age destroyed in a global cataclysm some 12,000 years ago. Graham is the presenter of the hit Netflix documentary series "Ancient Apocalypse."

@@GardenofEdens Your entire comment is written in bad faith. You claim Graham and Rogan just want to believe, while Flint merely wants to educate. Yet during the video Graham presents ample evidence and points to back up his point of view, while Flint refuses (repeatedly) to even consider the points Graham is bringing up, treating them with ridicule and disdain (as he did when Graham started showing examples of underwater monuments). Graham also pointed out how the archeological community (and this smoothly translates to science communities at large) stifled and stomped out any opposition to their maintained views, ignoring evidence from their fellow members who were later proven right. They merely wanted to educate, just like Flint here does. There's a special place in the afterlife for folks like yourself.

Great said 😍 Graham wants to make us believe HARRY POTTER is real, but he does nothing on the field to bring evidence. I like his theory about advanced civilization before ice age, BUT until today it's nothing as FANTASY... GRAHAM throws anyway a lot of shit to the whole archaeology... it's not ok, but a lot of archaeologist aren't better... they should step back and work constructive together.
If Flint Dibble is a South Park character, Graham Hancock is the guy they make the episode about.
Dibble is passionate about archeology being supported by things he is not an expert on.
If Hancock didn't have a British accent, then nobody would give him any time. He bases his theories off of mythology...not exactly science based. Not sure how 7 sages could travel the ancient world lol

Grahams argument is basically that you can’t rule it out, and the archeologist is saying we have no evidence. Just saved you 4 hours
Yeah that pretty much sums it up, you can appeal to the unknown because it hasn’t been directly disproven with anything but it does mean you’re making an impactful or meaningful thought/statement

Love Graham clinging to "but they haven't excavated the whole desert" in response to Flint's "they don't need to excavate to survey, because it's a desert"
Hahaha. Yep, he just sounded stupid.
Wait isn’t excavating different from surveying? When you survey you’re looking at the surface level and excavating is looking under the surface sometimes very deep.
@@mosesszi2281 I'm using survey to mean carefully and thoroughly examine rather than as in surveying land. With modern technologies, you don't really need to excavate to know what is very deep under the surface, and Graham knows that (because he has collaborated with people using these techniques in lieu of excavation), but it seems like he's clinging to specifically excavation because he knows that the small amount of it that's been done makes it seem like the desert has barely been investigated.
seems like he hopes to find these things and Flint is saying we have no way to prove there’s anything there.
@@bloodaonadeline8346 I think it's more that there is simply not enough evidence in Flint's eyes to make as definitive claims as Graham routinely makes. The contemporary, preceeding, and proceeding archaeological evidence for the timeframes Graham claims that his culture would have existed in simply do not reflect what would be seen if his claims held water.
Most of Graham's evidence is a lack, or "these geological features _seem as if_ they were manmade". Surely if there was some great culture who'd achieved the things Graham claims, they'd've left some remnant instead of being miraculously lost as Graham seems to think has happened.
With grahams logic, we could basically say there hasnt been enough research done to legitimately rule out basically anything. We could apply that to all sciences. Honestly, used to like the guy, but his ego is so ridiculous he thinks he's being attacked, when in reality his ideas should be attacked

It seems like the only logical point Graham has to make is that "We should be doing more to excavate the Sahara desert and land that was exposed during the ice-age.". Otherwise it seems like all of his 'discoveries' are based on intrigue and things apparently seeming suspicious. Flint actually makes the best and definitive point that "We would find other types of evidence if humans actually inhabited these areas". Grahams logic seems to be based on supposed purpose of archaeological finds, while Flint's is actually based on the actual materials that they find.
You miss the whole point, all graham is purposing is that we have multiple mysteries that cannot be answered based on what we know. Therefore we cant rule anything out…. Especially when there are certain findings/monuments that clearly cannot be possible without advanced help….Literally not rocket science to understand this. You must be american.
But how we find more evidence if we are surveyed so little and even what is found is dismissed because it doesn't fit the narrative

Against all odds, they learn to appreciate eachothers' differences. Rated PG13.
One thing Joe gets wrong is the idea that the ancient Egyptians stand out as being completely unlike anything else from the time period. The civilizations of the middle east were also building grand monuments. For example, the Great Ziggurat of Ur was built about 4100 years ago, and was estimated at 210 feet (64m) in length, 150 feet (46m) in width and over 100 feet (30m) in height. This isn't as big as the Great Pyramid but it's in the same order of magnitude. The smaller (but still massive) Anu ziggurat at Uruk was constructed almost 2000 years earlier than that, around 4000 BCE.
And don't forget the Olmec's Great Pyramid of La Venta and the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. Although coming much later, they were built by cultures who hadn't developed agriculture until a couple thousand years after the people of Egypt and the middle east.
I watched every minute and I stood up at the end. Well done to you all. 👏

I really thought they were gonna flame flint dibble harder, lmao.😂The dude looks like he smells his own farts.
Unfortunately, I got way further than that before I shut it off and came here for the video. Boy was I surprised at how this man looks! The voice did not give it away! 😂

This should have been the Main Event for UFC 300.
I wish I could’ve seen the interaction between Joe and Jamie the moment Flint and Graham walked out of the studio.
😳😬😅
😂
I’m only 5 minutes in & this comment made me laugh !
Probably talked about how much of a duechebag Flint comes off as regardless of what he knows or doesnt. Poor guy did not get enough hugs from his narcissistic dad.
I agree
Everyone in this podcast gave their best. Joe was great host asking good questions, Jamie managed to find all the pictures while handling that hdmi cable, Graham fought three pairs of glasses and Flint kept his hat on without breaking his neck or headphones.
This episode should go in history as one of the best.
Bro thank you for this comment 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"old age is a bitch" - Graham Hancock
The UFC of Archeology !!
My reviews is Graham prepared to face up that sneaky online trolls that got him canceled, at this point in life he still got the energy and patience for the airdrops and glasses. Flint clearly is need much more rock dibbling to do and maybe less woke and more dibbling and have little bit of optimising. Make archeology interesting again. Having Joe as a referee is always good in this kinda exchange of energy , and Jamie is i think lost the most calories!!
This comment is probably even MORE hilarious then this episode. Well done my friend.
Thanks Joe, that you take this so serious❤
This is classic Joe Rogan podcast
3.6 million views in 4 days and still counting for a 4 hour debate on archaeology is insane in a good way.
That's not including Spotify and the other platforms
so now they load the full shows here? before it was only like 10 to 20 minutes clips.
@@lcfflc3887 yeah full episodes are back.
16.5 million by 4/21 on RUclips alone. This is huge
Plenty of educational RUclipsrs get 10 million + views per video. People wanna learn, that never went away. Dumb people are just louder.
Hearing them dig at each other in professional ways is so funny. “That’s a very good idea flint, thank you”

For anyone who wondered why Graham Hancock isn't taken seriously by scholarship, this is why.
Also he whines like a baby he's misrepresented, then says all archeologist lie and don't do enough, what a shmuck
No it’s because the unknown scares them. Funny how those same people use the argument of “nature is crazy sometimes” to explain unexplainable findings. Some people just alwaaaays want to be right. But since your into serious scholars, explain to me how 15 ton stones were taken from quarries 500 miles away? Oh ya dont forget about the mountains you have to get over without roads! 2.3 million times, by the way, for each stone. Almost forgot, they have to be cut to the exact millimeter everytime so the whole structure doesnt collapse, and ohhhh ya you have to lift them one on top of each other for over 450 feet!man those gyms thousands of years ago must have been really good! Not to mention the calculators and computers they used with electricity thousands of years ago!! Let me know when the archeologist scholars have an answer 😊

I love how, since JRE returned to youtube, this is the 3rd most viewed episode behind only Katt Williams and Tucker Carlson 👏

Banging episode. One of the top ones.
Jamie was the unsung hero of this episode. He's an HDMI cable samurai.
Of every episode 👌
I mean he didnt even know how to get audio from an HDMI signal.
Just wondering though isn't I possible to have a few hdmi cables in this modern podcast room? Even if a second screen was needed. Then there would be less to switch around or airdrop?
@@user-et9zf3ne5p Not 100% true, there are some really weird edge cases.
@@averagealienSDits not that he didnt know how to get audio from it, the normal audio is probably hooked up from his pc going to dedicated speakers, and not coming from the tv/monitors speakers. It is probably just not set up so that the tv speakers record audio.

A 4.5 hour nerd debate on archeology.
Fascinating.
Goes to show where people's interest really lies haha
Dude, its about humian history and the beginning of it that people are interested in, not the archiology it self.
Conspiracy theories, not archeology
@@pugs909Yep, this is exactly it. If you see all the rabid Hancock fans commenting on his appearances, what they fixate on is the conspiracy angle with the archaeology as a distant second.
It's just another example of how gullible the average person is. They want to be entertained more than use critical thinking skills.

Minus the childlike bickering and name calling by the cosplay side.
Minus the fact that Graham Hancock is an intellectual hack with no integrity. I'd appreciate 2 actual learned opinions though
Agree, this is great. And Joe is letting the bickering happen, which I really like too, we are seeing a very pure debate.

Apart from flint saying “much of the Sahara has been done for archaeology, must of which is by my dad”… daddy’s done less than 1% of it. absolute child he is
I hardly call this a debate. More like watching a child with the intelligence of Fred Flintstone (yes, Flint) attempt to humiliate and prove Hancock uses baseless theories, fall flat on his face like an insecure little boy pretending to be more intelligent/capable than he really is. What's most disappointing is that looking through the comments around here, people are falling for it and taking Flint's side. Sign of the times and the absolute ignorance the world has fallen into. Bravo, Mr. Hancock, for literally sitting through such a childish exchange.
@@Mossy179 would you be so kind to point at one "baseless theory" Flint used?
if anything, you should know better why people are taking Flint's side, Hancock had nothing for 4 hours to say except for "this is not enough data to refute my widely irrefutable hypothesis" .
