You are my new hero lil man! I got my inline six all apart and working on putting it back together. Its going to be a great day when I hear mine crank again. The fiber timing gear broke back in April.
Got yourself a hell of a project... keep at it... great motor. I've a 78 Econoline with that motor, 3 on the tree... 300,000 miles, still running strong and smooth...
That big cap is much better style . Uses a cap a dapt and tall rotor that helps prevent crossfiring of the cylinders and spark scatter with the high power of electronic ignitions. The tall rotor helps keep the the ignition from grounding down through the distributer shaft .
the 300-6 and the 292 chevy 6 are the two best inlines in the world, torque to give away,i had the last year 300 6 --1996 e250 van, from the factory it had the smallest injectors ford every built,i lived with the check engine light on,putting carburetion on this engine is smart, you can't blow up a rich motor, jet it till it blubbers then jet it 2-3 leaner, stab it and steer
How did that intake work out? Since it was originally a fuel injection intake, which was designed to flow only air, I wonder if the fuel from carb stayed atomized w/air or separated & pooled up in places, causing lean/rich issues on different cylinders.
It worked great at 2000rpm+ warmed up but at idle the turbulence in the plenum was so low that the fuel would pool up in the plenum. The cylinders were slightly different because of the pool of fuel
Some asshole hit and ran my car after his spring perch busted I found the perch on the road I found the truck matched up all the broken parts/lense and paint scraps and he still denied it. My point is the perch coming off will rip the wheel right out of your hand
Iv built a few of these junk yard combos 84 bottom end with a 94 efi head' efi exhaust manifolds i went with a hei out of a old buick v6 and a 2 barrel off a 302 , the 94 head has heart shaped chambers so shave that head and its a noticable bumb it also has non ajustable rockers which simplified life. After killing 2 blocks i had to just face facts, the 300 is great but it wont spin like 250 and survive the strokes too long
Ford 250 inline its shares more in common with the falcon six its a 4.1 liter a bit more compact and theres more speed parts. The jeep 4.0 is my new staple just beacse its common
Bro i dont think that t.f.i.dist will work right with a carb, i ueed stock duraspark works great, u need a vacuum adv dist, maybe you already know that, i dont know🤗
I had to sell my 96 F-150 because of terrible wiring and electrical problems no matter what the battery would keep going dead even if it was new, the front gas tank would pump gas into the other tank, or not work at all headlights came and went the wipers would come on when you pushed the horn, and other weird things light blinking dash lights I was scared it would short and catch fire.
I have a 96 f 150 4x4 311000 mile it never had any problems like that whatsoever, its a everyday truck, in and out the mud too ! Its must be preventive maintenance i guess😊
@@danonoveh8114 Im just going by the experience I had, the E4od auto trans would leak piles of red fluid on the cement and I could never find the leak plus myriad other mystery problems.
Keep up the good work. I had 1980 with 6 cyl. 4 speed. Lost it in a divorce, when l just had it painted. I sure miss that truck!

+Daniel Dunbar Good to hear I hope it works out : )
Looking at those floor boards makes me glad I live in Arizona. I dig that intake.
Hell yeah!
Needs some mud flaps in cab

Thanks! 3 on the tree must be nice

I'm going to purchase a wideband oxegen sensor that doesn't need a computer so I can get the mixture perfect

Yeah I'm getting a Bosch stand alone wideband gauge so I can tune it but right now it's pretty fast

The corrosion between the front spring mounts and the frame could be scary.
Imagine if one broke off ?
Perhaps replace the rivets with Gr 8 bolts.
I know I know its sad. I think I'm going to start on some front end work when I start driving this summer.

Yeah I will fix it
I would just make it individual port fuel injection and get rid of that monstrous intake manifold.
Like what ya did with the efi intake..
Thank you!
It wont fitvunder the hood with the carb on top of intake
Is the beast still running with this setup?
No I changed the intake because that one didn't heat up the mixture enough
What kind of air intake is that?
It's off of an EFI model with a carburetor bolted to the top

@@johnhosler6636 Oh damn I never knew that. Thanks! I'll post a driving vid on the truck with the offy intake I bought in a month or two
Killer intake manifold!
Thank you
Cool

@@danonoveh8114 Whats the preventive maintenance for faulty wiring?
Hello friend, pass me the distributor ignition model. I'm building the same project
Daraspark 2 factory.
Sorry man i cant see this ever running again, to far gone and you will never get the wires right fords have miles of wire.
Oh really well I drive it to school every day and I ripped all those wires out it has three wires going to the motor................................
@@mechanicalking Thats good I'm glad you figured it out you really are the king.
Give tha dude a littl break mate, show me a computer ized vehicle that doesn't.. Allways sayin some negative crab about a dam ford !!
