I helped a guy broken down on the side of the road. Never thought I would see or hear from him again. Two years later I walked into his office for a job interview. I was hired on the spot! That job changed my life!

Hi, my old TR6R-1971 had a 230 main jet, but the bike went back to the factory and was road tested by the late great Percy Tait tester and racer. He came back and reported "under jetted", smoking but no oil light problem. They kept the bike and found aluminium swarf in the engine !!! 18 months later it smoked like a trooper, my father owned a rebore/crankgrinding company we found the bores worn top outside and bottom inside, yes bent rods, so it was rebored, all new bearings etc and the head and inlet manifold polished like a mirror, 20 tooth sprocket then fitted along with Dunstall Decibel silencers that stated go up another main jet size now at 250, it flew but remained very economical. Try spraying some brake cleaner around the carb flange and inlet manifold and see if the revs rise if there's a leak.

Good to see someone else with a TR6RV, I have had mine for 30 years, am now in my 70,s and still using it. I put the 20 tooth drive sprocket many years ago. There is a 21tooth sprocket but the effort to fit it was not worth the fuss for me, The TR6RV is quite able to do 100 mile an hour and a bit more but not with me on it any more. The single carb makes it very reliable and so easy to tune. I may not be the best person to ask but why would anyone bother with a boneville. Don't shoot me just my opinion.

I prefer the single carb bikes also. Just easier to live with.

Bad practice not changing both sprockets .

I like your videos but why are you so obsessed with the time . I kind of get a kick out of it.

I use the time "hacks" for billing purposes.
