I can relate to that kind of drunk-level. About 25 years ago I stumbled out of a 24-hour bar (meaning the place was open 24/7 minus twice each day half an hour that they closed for cleaning). Had already been going from bar to bar for three days straight, so when I stumbled out of that bar at roughly 11AM with the intent of making my way home.... well.... instead I stumbled right into this little shop on the other side of the street. One of those new-age shops where they sold incence, crystals, tarot cards.... your natural response at such a moment is to pretend that you're not drunk and meant to go in there. Spent my last guldens (our currency back then, before the Euro) on a D&D game set, a D&D book, some incense and a big piece of amethyst. If John Smith got blitzed enough and Splash Mountain was anywhere on his route to Space Mountain, it would be very likely that he'd end up riding Splash mountain just to pretend that he wasn't drunk and meant to go there.
Space Mountain's line was too long. There, however, was no wait for Splash Mountain and JOOOOOHN SMIIIIIIITH.

Actually no. The it's funny bc its true line only applies to good comedy writing where they start with reality as a fundamental base and then exaggerate in an amusing way. What they're doing here is literally recreating reality which is not funny it's just lazy comedy writing.
+ThePolecatz No. Simply recreating real life in a scripted environment is acting. There's no inherent comedy in acting (don't get all abstract on me I mean in the literal sense). Comedy comes from taking reality and exaggerating it in a funny way. Simply referencing real is doing step 1 and skipping the part where you have to be creative and funny.

Yes, the line to meet Elsa is/has been literally three hours, but whoever-the-hell from Treasure Planet and the wife who died from Up are obviously an exaggeration. That's where they were creative and funny. Even if the sketch as a whole didn't end up extremely amusing.

We're all cast members ( all Disney employees are called this ). And we're all paid horrible unlivable wages. And the character attendants get shit on by guests AND performers. Their job sucks. I should know, considering I was one of the performers ( not one that shits on attendants, but I witnessed it a lot )

That attendant is the real victim here.
After graduating top of his class in his college theater program, he decided to chase his dream of entertaining people and making children happy at Disneyland. However the day before his audition, he felt a little nervous and had a few cold ones to calm his nerves.
He showed up on time to his audition just a little tipsy. Nonetheless he gave a strong performance as all the characters they asked him to imitate, Even bringing one judge to tears.
And so they hired him but asked him to be in attendant as they didn't have any slots for characters available at the time, saying it would only be a month or two before he would be in costume shaking hands giving hugs and bringing smiles.
That was 5 years ago.
Now the only joy he receives in life is watching the the actors who stole his job suffer when no one wants to spend time with them. You can tell it all from the sadistic glee in his voice and on his face.

Lmao I think the worst offender for this would be the giant yeti animatronic at Expedition Everest, which ceased operating soon after it was released because of a flaw that could've had catastrophic results. The "fix" was to use strobe lights to get the effect of the yeti moving without the animatronic adding all that pressure, and because of those lights, he's called the "Disco Yeti" 😂😂😂
@@whatdoyousuppose Not lazy, they would have to rip apart half of the mountain to fix it, as it is massive and in the middle of the attraction. Too much time and money would be spent on both redoing the rockwork, and closing it for about a year or two.

As someone who has been to DisneyWorld 4 times, I can confirm waiting ridiculous amounts of time to meet obscure Disney characters. I waited an hour to meet Tinkerbell’s friends.

Speaking from experience...autographs are what killed Disney's amazing Character programs. It forced them to line up (just like in this sketch) and took away all the spontaneity and excitement of seeing your favorite Characters running around. It drastically lowered the quality of the performers hired, and took away most of the aspects of the performance and improv that once made them great! Sigh.

Elsa a wait of only 3 hours and the little mermaid with a wait of an hour and a half ....... I waited for Ariel for 10 min 😆 but Elsa and Anna were freaking 4 hours that day FOUR HOURS !!!!!

Kenan actually did play Uncle Remus from Song of the South one time. It was a season 32 monologue on the episode hosted by Jamie Pressly from "My Name is Earl".
