Weaken the lofts 1-2 degrees on the ZX4’s and they’re absolute money for anyone. I was going to do a combo set up ZX5/ZX4, ended up going with ZX4 full set weakened by 1-2 degrees and I love them. I’m also an athletic 29 year old and when I got them I was a 14HCP…I’m now just under a 9HCP🤷🏽♂️
@@robertcrowe7036I got these in June and had to add a AW to my original 5-PW. I have a 60 degree which is a 100 yard club for me, AW is 115-120, PW 135-140, 9 150-155, 8 165-170, 7 175-180, 6 185-190 and 5 200. For me getting the AW has filled a massive hole in my yardages but I’m still not comfortable with a 7 iron going 180. If I absolutely middle it and am swinging really well you could add 10-15 yards to each of those clubs, especially if it’s warm. I think wedge end of the bag I could add a degree then from 9 iron down 2/3 degrees. I swing a 7 iron about 90mph a bit quicker when I’m swinging well so for me the lofts are a little strong. If you swing slower then that they should be fine but if you swing it to slow it will mess with your gapping because a 75mph swing on a 23 degree 5 iron will carry about 120 yards and roll right into a trap
I went to a Srixon fitting day at my club and was looking for ZX5s after trying them I ended up with ZX4s throughout. I’m a fit 67yr old with 11.5 index. I’ve gained 8-10 yards but more importantly the balls coming in higher and stopping quicker. Love them already after 2weeks use.
Great review guys this has to be one of the best reviews I’ve seen fun but informative.. And my favourite so far is T350 which I preferred to Smoke A1 and QI, G430. I have got to test ZX4 . The Titleist looks fabulous, sounds and feels good so my front runner but the ZX4 does look tempting. I’m a senior 16 handicapper currently playing Stealth 2 but now looking for that forged feel but with distance and forgiveness. So look likes the Titleist or the Srixon. I think the Srixon wins on price. Interesting that only the Titleist and Srixon are forged in this category although I believe there is a Callaway DCB coming in September. Can you test the Srixon ZX5 woods?
Another excellent video. Love the humour that accompanies the videos. Can I cast my vote for another two irons for the Golf Magic treatment? Mizuno 245 and Wilson 2024 DynaPower Forged Irons?
Comparing the loft between the current Callaway club series and my Callaway X-20 clubs, I noticed an enormous reduction in loft on the same Iron numbers. While the loft on the Srixon ZX4 are really comparable to my current X-20's. This must be where the forgiveness comes from. Question remains why the loft gets reduced more and more with each new golfset. And why would I buy the Srixon ZX4? how is it and upgrade to my X20's?
I'm off 16. Going a mix set of p770s and p7mcs. Better clubs will make you work on your game. Biggest mistake I made was gaming stealths. Made me lazy.
What irons did you compare for this video? I see nothing from cleveland or wilson. Wilson has a set of forged CBs for same price as the srixon. Hate classifying super strong lofted clubs as "long distance". Just call them what they are, golf clubs with the wrong number on the sole. Been playing Cleveland TA5 since I got them fitted as my first clubs back in 1999. Took a 15 year break from golf after having kids and now getting back into it. So many new irons have much more forgiving heads, but I know my distances with current lofts. Maybe I am just too old now and these standard lofts are just not a thing anymore. Never even heard of strong loft until I started looking for a new set of irons. It seems so many clubs are in the low 30 degree or even 28,29 loft for a 7 iron. Then most sets today only come with 5-PW which would leave a huge gap to my lob wedge for distance. So then I will need to find Gap and Sand wedges that are in line with the linear lofts progression from the iron set. No wonder so many sets no longer come with the 3-SW like my TA5s. A 3 iron would basically negate the need for a driver if the lofts stayed on the same progression. Not sure why mid to high handicap sets are 1-2 clubs longer than the number on the bottom today. Instead of a 7, I would need to pull either a light 85% 8 or a 115% 9 iron swing.
Was surprised recently myself when comparing lofts of my old taylormade rac os irons to new Qi’s…thunk my 7 is 33 and Qi is 28! That would be like a 5.5 iron in my set lol(5 -26,6-29 so more like a 6 but still 1 degree less …so no wonder theyre longer …personally dont really see that as a problem as long as i can hit specific distances EASIER when i spend a $1000 to upgrade…
Dark speed are too long distance ? If it’s straight and long doesnt it make sense to just hit the range with alarge bucket get your new distances and possibly get rid of 5i up…and maybe fill those openings with clubs to make up for your pitch etc? Am actually asking why thats a bad idea …

100%!
What are the ZX7s like? Would you not bother trying them with your low handicap?
You mentioned you weakened them 1-2 degrees. Which clubs did you weaken 1 degree and which 2 and why? Would greatly appreciate a response. Thanks!

Great recommendations. I switched to a combo set of the Srixon MKII ZX4 (5-6) and ZX5 (7-GW) last year... they are pure magic!!
Love to hear it!
Got to appreciate the Rock in the background. Great views.
Incredible course!

Thanks for the comment! Both coming soon, they’re both really good irons though I must say
Im struggling with my driver and 3w right now. Loving my Paradyme's
Wilson D9’s will piss all over most game improvement irons, long straight and have stopping power and only 500 for a fully customised set.

thanks for the great content, would love to see you get in to shaft review as well
Coming soon!
I might have to look at the srixons 👌
Do it!

zx4 vs staff forged vs 923hm-hl?
How do the zx4 compare to the takomo 101

Also i must be the only person who could give 2 craps about looks if they improve my game …i mean as long as it looks like a golf club why care?
You still got the one lengths ?
Not right now, but they may make a return
How does the PXG GEN6 compare to these
Close! They're one of my favourite irons but I think they're slightly more towards a mid handicap level so the Srixon ousts them this time.
@@GolfmagicPlus even the xp model?
Ive played there 5 times
Callaway Smoke AIs?
I played the other 18 heathlands and got a hole in one
Tour Edge E723 would blow these away.
Taylormade QI irons.
News flash: don’t spend any money on replacing your clubs, spend your money on lessons and practice. You won’t need high handicap cap irons anymore!!!
I thought you were reviewing 3 irons 😂 that’s a 7 iron, what are they doing…. then it clicked 🙈
That's actually a great point! We'll change the title
Would be better if it was in English 😊
what? 😂
@@GolfmagicPlus all due respect it’s very difficult for us in N America to understand you.

yep
