I would argue that the real difference is the vastly inferior AI's in the game. When you attacked as the federation, all Breen ships were destroyed with no federation losses. When you attacked as the Breen, all federation ships were destroyed (mostly by you) with no Breen losses. Enjoyable none the less:D
BC AI can be very...interesting.😂 One great example is any mod without a Torpedo system (the system itself on the Hardpoint). If this is present, the AI can simply stop any attempt at attacking with any weapon or maneuver 😮😂
Weyoun trolling in the background 5:31 "Poor EMH Mk2. I believe he was quite fond of that ship." 5:54 "Poor Cpt. Janeway. I believe she was quite fond of that ship." 6:30 "Poor Cpt. Sisko. I believe he was quite fond of that ship." 7:21 "Poor Cpt. Picard. I believe he was quite fond of that ship."
That battle definitely went to Starfleet. In the first battle, all Starfleet ships survived with all Breen ships destroyed. In the second battle, you lost half of your own forces in order to destroy the Starfleet force. Advantage Starfleet.
Yes, and to be honest he could easly command in Defiant cloak at beginning and attack Breen with Quantums, And btw Breen ships are "attack Cruisers" not dreadnoughts;)
Please can I state that in DS9 When we see this weapon in use for the first time, the energy damping weapon drained all power from the ships leaving them with no weapons, shields, engines, thus a single direct hit would result in the end of the victim as they wouldn't be able to fight, flee or protect themselves. Effectively a single breen ship could win a fight against multiple opponents
Yeah I think the modders have decided to balance the weapon by reducing its effectiveness. Otherwise every battle would be decided based on whether it lands. Obviously completely inaccurate, but many things in this game are
😨Gosh Admiral.. the Breen.. eeh.. First battle well done in Voy, that was crazy the Breen weapon, and strange Starfleet didn't use any tech to fight them, hmm well done for sure, and crazy was the Prometheus didn't last but the others did, interesting.. lol '' Stop That'' kept getting hit by the drain weapon lol. Mariner would say that lol.. Second battle gosh.. that was crazy.. The Breen ships are wicked and think only ones that look like that, almost S'ona style .. Love the battle as always.. gosh.. !!!😊🖖
Personally I give that battle to the Federation, in the first battle with you as the Federation not even a single ship was lost. When you switched to the breen, you were able to defeat them but lost half your fleet in the process and were at about half health yourself. Just my take.
Would you be interested in doing planetary assault battles? Say, the Breen attack on Earth if the Mars Verteron Array was taken into account (given that it can hit a target on Earth with great accuracy) or how the Scimitar would fare against Cardassian orbital defense platforms? 7:15 Can this Galaxy-class fire 10 torpedoes at once?
5:28 that was actually the wreck of a nebula class, since two participated in battle, other than the odyssey, there were no other galaxy classes (that we saw at least) lost during the dominion war.
If Cpt. Janeway would have been on board of that Intrepid class, she would have ordered engineering to inject some coffee (black!) into into the warp core and all systems would have been back up instantly. Of course that assumes that there would have been some of the organic suspension readily available even after replicators are out, but then again I'm assuming there's always some in her ready room.
I'm more surprised by what didn't happen, and that's the Breen one-shooting the entire fleet, the moment their shields went down. And the fleet actually won the first battle, even under those conditions.
Wonder if there's interceptors. Like low powered plasma bursts that negates or reduces the Breen energy drain's effect. The Breen had surprised everyone when it was first used. Also what if the ship power grids soured the milk like on the space seed tng episode. Will that reduce the energy drain.
As viewed in canon. That damping weapon causes loss of weapons and shields. It disabled the whole fleet except one klingon ship. You would have all been destroyed pretty easily. The defiant and Prometheus have the same armor
one thing that most likely isn't modeled with regards to the Breen energy weapon is the potential consequences of losing power to antimatter containment (or singularity containment for the Romulans)
The Starfleet side of this may not match what we saw in the show, but remember, in the show, the Breen had a fleet of harder-hitting (and also some Cardassian) ships at their back to take better advantage of the weapon than they themselves could have.
This one was fun. I have to agree the Breen were the victors in this one. I also agree that the Breen weapon is much more devastating. It's too bad that can't be tweaked to match what we saw in the show. When you were playing as Starfleet for you to still be able to fire your weapons was highly inaccurate. If it can be tweaked to where it completely disables everything that would be cool.
Yes, it's funny, in Kobayashimaru the Breen weapon is much more devastating. Whereas in Remastered it just partially disables the ship. Maybe that will change someday? 🖖
The Breen also attacked Earth before the 2nd Battle of Chin'toka. Most of the Breen ships were destroyed when they attacked Earth. I am thinking the Breen did not use the drain weapons when they attacked Earth since everyone was surprised at Chin'toka
I don't think this is too far from what happens in the episode actually. The effect of the breen weapon would probably be just as short lasting, however it was used in a melee battle with an entire fleet of Dominion ships ready to take advantage of that moment by opening fire.
Neither side includes any of their faction's Frigates. The officers in charge of determining the makeup of the fleets both get F grades IMO. The Breen officer gets an F- (say 10 out of 100) due to all the ships belonging to the same class while the Federation officer gets an F+ (Say 45 out of 100) due to selecting a variety of ship classes and including the Defiant class. Both need to be sent back to their faction's training program for a refresher course on fleet selection though
In DS9 the Breen weapon didn't destroy the Defiant. The Breen weapon disabled the Defiant which was then pelted with Breen and Defiant torpedoes and disruptors.
This particular Intrepid wasn't equipped with Tri-Cobalts. In terms of power, they are highly effective once an enemies ships shields are down. They will damage shields more than a Photon Torpedo, but are designed to be used against unshielded targets 🖖
This bridge commander game is full of shit if u can remember ds9 episode where the defiant destroyed breen ship with a couple of shots from it's pulse fasers
2:46 the defiant cloaked when Benjamin commanded, "if there's breen, don't be seen!"

Hey Retro Badger - just wanted to thank you for making these videos. They're a treat to watch for this diehard fan, and now a regular fun indulgence.

5:28 that is the wreck of a nebula class. Yknow. The one we SAW at chintoka when the breen attacked.
Was looking for this comment, glad i found it
@@joshuakrieski9628 cool. Now lets get infuriated together about these casuals not being able to recognize ships. :)
@@trazyntheinfinite9895 LOL indeed!
More fleet battles please, this was awesome!

The way the Starfleet ships held on, with no shields in the first battle, is really impressive. It helps to have a good captain, too! 🖖
“After torpedoes are loaded.” Me, “Never turn your back on a Breen!”
Prometheus MVAM would theoretically be a good strategy, extra targets to absorb drain shots.
If the AI in Bridge Commander were as formidable as the NPC AI's in Mario Party....The player would NEVER win LOL! Great Battle!
Love a good fleet battle.
agreed!
0:11 : Anybody else notice the SMILEY FACE on the bottom of the 'Intrepid' class's saucer? 😁
HAHA! I can't un-see that now 🖖
Ty for the video and LLAP!
Hmmm. That drain weapon should have shut down everything like it did on the Defiant. Poor captain Sisko, he was so fond of that ship. 😆
I love these fleet battles!🎉
DEFIANT NEVER FIRES

Galaxy class sailing past a 4.38 is savage.
RBG, I would argue that this is the battle after the Breen attacked Starfleet headquarters
You forgot the Prometheus can use it's vector assault mode... that would be cool. Maybe to add a Galor Class or a Jem'Hadar wing in addition as bait.
As viewed in canon. That damping weapon causes loss of weapons and shields. It disabled the whole fleet except one klingon ship. You would have all been destroyed pretty easily.

You should do it again for the period after starfleet adapted their shields to resist those weapons.
As lower Decks is coming out with it's last season can we have the Cerritos vs something to welcome the last season in epic style.
But on DS9 episode which first showed the Breen weapon it completely disabled the target ship, not just its shields.
@6:38 Whenever i can name my ship, i name it Dauntless. Hopefully in real life too one day. ☺️
I wonder what the galaxy or sovereign class was packing the siege cannons of the negvar would far?

Good job this wassnt Discovery's breen who seem to have a HUGE amount of ships and mega dreadnoughts the size of enterprise Js. Lol
The size of the ship probably doesn't matter, there were D'deridex class warbirds taken out in the second battle of chin'toka.
Neither side includes any of their faction's Frigates. The officers in charge of determining the makeup of the fleets both get F grades IMO. tough little ship.
The breen weapon wasnt just a shield drain though. It shit down almost all systems instantly
Definitely time for MVAM

Drain Weapon is Brain Weapon. :)
I wish I was in the Galaxy. Was that just the Galaxy class blowing up?
No excelsior classes? 😢😢
NEAL BREEN HAS A FLEET!?!
why prometheus and galaxy do not separate to be less vulnerable to breen weapons .
of course the klingons just swoop in guns blazing and send the breen to stovokor.
Hey a couple questions. Was that Intrepid equipped with cobalt devices? Second, are cobalt devices as strong as quantums?

@@RetroBadgerGaming Explains why Janeway used them on the caretakers array. Thanks for the reply!
If the Prometheus could have gone into multi-vector, I don't think the Breen would have won. It would have produced too many targets.
Badger who would win .
In a gorn vs borg battel
The Borg 100% Although at first I think the Borg would take a lot of damage. They'd soon adapt though 🖖

The Breen are all gimmick. Dampener aside, their ships are very meh. Not really a match for other Powers' cruisers.
