One of the criticisms of Oscar made by Canelo is that Oscar wanted to have Canelo make less pay in order to get Canelo’s opponent to fight. I can understand why Canelo doesn’t want it to come out of his pay. Canelo said that Oscar would say, “We have to help feed other fighters.” Or something along those lines.
He meant it as they won’t come to the table if they feel like they can get more out of it.

I met Oscar de La Hoya on Olvera Street with my classmates years ago when he had become big time. We were on a school trip and we were eating in one of the little restaurants and he was walking out.
