Their first release on Epitaph opens with a hip hop track which pissed off hardcore bros to no end (and it's way more punk than those gatekeepers will ever be).
Same, discovered them today (for once, Spotify Weekly has done a good job), saw the thumbnail of this review and thought "No way he will not love this"

I've noticed a pattern in amazing albums being incredibly weird at first, I think that's what it takes to be this good. This was an (8.7 - 9.4/10) I also really like how the album's meaning about feeling constrained by society and unable to be different in a progressive punk album is ironic considering how a community that is extremely conservative of an old progressive culture is awesome. Fantano is correct, this is PUNK ROCK!
For anyone that loved McKinley Dixon on Spiritual Level Of Gang Shit, you have to check out his album For My Mama And Anyone Who Look Like Her, it's is honestly one of the most beautiful albums of the 2020's so far and easily my favourite underground rap album of 2021
Been listening to this since its release and with the amount of listens I’ve already given it, it’s definitely AOTY so far for me. They deserve the love and I hope I get to see them live someday! UPDATE: Saw them live this past Friday in Cupertino and I ALREADY can't fucking wait to see them live again! Truly an unforgettable experience!

I saw them play live last October on the Coheed Cruise. Their energy was so incredible. At one point the singer was lying face down on the stage screaming "Back on my bullshit". the cruise did not allow moshing so I cant wait until I can see them again to get into the pit.

I’ve never heard of this band until now but I actually mainly like punk music or punk leaning alt rock and I’d say this record/band is getting a lot of praise in online circles I’m in right now. I’d say my favorite bands right now are Creeper, The Menzingers, The Dirty Nil, The Interrupters, Spanish Love Songs. Does this live in a Menzingers world at all? This band are set to be supporting My Chemical Romance, correct? When Anthony references screamo vocals is it like Static Dress at all? Hardcore or experimental in the sense of Culture Abuse, Angel Dust? or, I like but don’t love Turnstile, I respect but don’t usually really love Code Orange?.
I don't know but like two of the bands that you mention but the vocals remind me of Refused. They will be opening for MCR, I like them but I don't know how they will manage to match this band's energy
I cant say any of the bands you mentioned are in the HC genre, so no not really. And ill be honest, its a little weird that they're touring with MCR. Not saying you cant be fans of both, but Im not sure theyre energies will mix very well Those are good bands btw, just that theyre all a mix of more traditional punk, heavier hard rock, ska punk and alternative Also yeah, Soul Glo closer to Turnstile and Code Orange, but those are closer to HC as well so 🤷♂

I don't normally listen to hardcore punk, the musicianship on this record is absolutely fab. Never thought I would hear trap rhythms and horns on a punk record.

This album is really good, I just couldn't get past the vocals. It's not that I think the vocalist is bad, it's just that his vocal style choice (screamo leaning hardcore) is not a style that I enjoy that much. Maybe I will warm up to the vocals on subsequent listens since the music and lyrics are great, but as of right now I'm not connecting with them. I did really enjoy the last few tracks on the record though. For anyone that enjoys screamo style vocals I think they should definitely give this album a listen.
MGK 1/10 + Soul Glo 9/10 = The perfect 10/10 punk experience.
