- Are you arriving in Canada from overseas (as PR), at the airport, and wondering what to expect? How long does it take to connect to a domestic flight? What about arriveCAN? Do you need a covid test prior to departure? I’ll talk about this and more. #livingincanada
In this video I will go through the arrival process in Canada, using the example of YUL Montreal-Trudeau airport. The process might be slightly different if you arrive at a different airport. I’ll go through 8 steps to prepare you for a smooth arrival! I recently arrived at YUL Montreal airport myself. We arrived from NRT, Tokyo, Japan airport after a long 12-hour flight. Luckily, the arrival process went faster and smoother than expected!

Your videos are incredibly informative, the information you providing are definitely hard to be found elsewhere.
Since I'm coming to Toronto as a newcomer this January , I really do believe your channel is a typical reference to get through the whole process of installation .In fact, I'm watching every single video you have made and let me say that your work is fascinating .
So thank you so much for the effort you putting into making that sort of videos.
Thank you for your kind comment! I do try to give correct and useful information. I put myself in the shoes of someone just arriving (as I once did) and what the person might want to know. I'm glad if the content is useful. Welcome to Canada!
❤❤
You post videos about some subjects right when i need an answer!! Thanks a lot because i'm arriving in the 28th of september and this is what i was trying to find as an answer
Great to hear that, wishing you a smooth arrival!
@@LivinginCanada sorry to ask but do we need to take our checked baggage from plane A to plane B by our self to register them again or air canda does everything (we are going to ottawa but we land in motreal first then 1h30 later we take our second flight)
Usually baggage is checked through to the final destination, however there are always exceptions. So the best thing to do is confirm at the check-in desk and ask if your baggage will go all the way through to your final destination. Btw just a note that lately there's been plenty of chaos with lost luggage, so make sure to keep your valuables and items you need for the next few days in your carry on, just in case, safe trip!
@@LivinginCanada thanks for your kindness and help. One last question, it is about additional laggage, we have one free 23kg bagage and we want to add another one for 112$ (as its mentioned on air canada's website), do we have to register it online or we will hace to do it at the aeroport in morocco?
I could not find the other montreal airport video you mentioned
Do you think i Will have time to catch my connecting flight if i only have one hour layover? Your video is really helpful❤️
If your plane arrives on time, I believe it should be enough. You need to rush though.
Thank you for the informative video... You didn't mention if you collected your luggage?? Or because it was Air canada they took care of it themselves?? I'll be traveling via the Swiss Air ... Would i have to collect ny luggage first and then go for immigrations?
I didn't have any check-in luggage. This was during the pandemic, traffic was piling up at airports and suitcases getting lost and delayed. So we decided to only take carry on with us, despite the long trip.
Hi i noticed you guys already had PR card can give some information regarding people who only have COPR ?
Hi! You didn’t have to collect your checked baggage? Or is that done after you are in the Arrivals area? Did you have to check-in for your flight to Toronto?
I did not bring any check-in luggage, only carry-on. I packed lightly and avoided check-in, since at that time there was news that a lot of luggage got lost on flights/during transits, due to the high traffic volume. Hope things are better now. In any case, luggage is collected after passing immigrations.
Hi! Do you think it's a good idea to buy a sim card in Montreal Airport? Because we're arriving this Nov 2022 and I need data when we arrive?? What sim card is the best with best data coverage?
Sorry, I'm not so familiar with Montreal. From what I've heard, Telus seems to offer the best coverage.
Hi! Actually we will be traveling to Canada this Nov 2022 and will be entering via Montreal Airport so basically we are aware that we should do this arrivecan and CBSA declaration? But after one week will be traveling to halifax and entering via halifax steinfied airport, so my question is do I need to do another arrivecan and CBSA declaration since it is another airport? Do I have to delete first my previous arrivecan and cbsa to do another one? Little confused about this, kindly help
I am not sure whether arrivecan is still mandatory or not. But in case it is, as far as I know it's only needed at point of entry into the country, as you are arriving in Canada through immigrations.
1:49 in the past they had handwritten declaration forms handed out during the flight. Are they still available?
Nope, I wasn't handed out anything! I entered all details at the terminal.
@@LivinginCanada thanks
Do we still need to do this already???
Hi is Arrive Can still required today
I don't know, but I don't think it is. Anyone who has recently travelled please feel free to add!
What about people who come with Transit visa?
If you transit, just follow the signs to the terminal/gate where your next flight departs from.
@@LivinginCanada Thanks !. Does the transot allow entry to Canda, i-e leaving the airport ?
