Bonjour Monsieur Tom ! Thanks for working on it, it's hard to believe nobody would work on one, I can't think of a simpler car to work on. This one might be a little more special as I think it's a "Charleston" model. Great to watch !
@@elpepito957 it’s a common issue with finding competent repair shops willing to work on old cars. Ironically, they’re more interested in plugging a car in and letting it tell you what wrong than diagnosing with old school methods! It was an interesting diversion. Thanks for watching.
Hi Tom, I have found your channel about a year ago, and just catched up to the latest videos. Very cool to see all the old Ferraris and learn about them, love the styling. Nice supprise to see a 2CV which is more familiar to me. I own a 72 DS 23 Pallas injection, 89 CX GTi Turbo 2 and a modern 2011 C5 V6 diesel all very comfortable. If you ever get the chance to experience one of the big Citroëns go for it! Keep the videos coming, Ferrari and Citroën ;-)
Hagerty had one of these at a “Ride and Drive” event at the Amelia Island Concours in 2023. It was a RHD model and with the shifter pattern it was a learning curve. I had a ball driving it though, should have signed up to drive it some more.
Okay Tom, I just watched a 2CV how-to oil change video. Quirky as the vehicle. One of the first steps is removal of the front body panel wings. Sacré bleu!
I just watch that video, and I think that is something the owner is going to ask Tomy if he will do it for him ruclips.net/video/aIjYpJPUAO4/видео.html
To access the oil filter, yes (you can kinda do it without removing anything but it's tight). Most jobs on a 2cv's front end are easier if you remove all the bodywork, which thankfully only takes about 10 minutes.
I used to race them as well as have road ones. Brilliant little cars and one of the most fun racing cars Ive had in over 30yrs in the sport. They can also be started on a hand crank via the hole in the front grill.
I found this 2CV interesting. Fun to drive, and really comfortable. They must be a riot on a race track with more power. I can't imagine the lean angles!
That was a fun video.. Something entirely different. I am from Germany and some friends of mine had a 2CV at one time of another, usually with a lot of rust and running on only 1 1/2 cylinders. But it ran and got people places.
My lord, quirky but unique (like all Citroens) but almost too agricultural to keep up with modern traffic! Sidenote: please elaborate on the Guards Red 1987 (I believe) Carrera in the garage:)
Good eye! My sister's 1987 911 that she bought in 1989 and is the second owner. Original paint, with 180Kmiles of which she drove 120K of it! I had do do some work on it before we stored it for the winter, and may post a video of it if people get tired of Ferrari content. I feel there's plenty of 911 content out there already!
Did you know that these things can corner really fast? There’s a famous story from the old days, a rally driver practicing at night ans he couldn’t shake off the headlights behind him on the downhill. Turns out, it was two nuns in a 2CV
"Tell him my hourly rate..." and he was never heard from again. Except this time. (I can't hear a lot of your commentary in the garage though, you might want to get a clip-on microphone.)

Very cool Tom! I'd venture to say that many of your viewers don't have a Ferrari, but it's all about the patience and effort.

@@flashg67 the dog leg 1st that comes at you and over to the left is a little weird. I’ll say it again, Quirky!
@ my Dad drove a 76 Oldsmobile Frienza (Chevy Monza) for a while. It had a 5 speed manual with a similar dogleg 1-2 shifter pattern on it.

It was fun to learn something new, now, back to Ferraris!
Next step: tackling stubborn DS hydraulics. :) :(
Nice video.
Curse the thought!

I guess you would have to overcome the fear of the lean first!
Invoice probably wasn't too scary, I'm guessing you only needed to spend a couple of hours max on it 😁
It didn't take long to get it started, but there were a couple of electrical gremlins I had to chase down. not bad at all.

I was hoping the hourly rate would discourage him, but that didn't work!
A Deux Chaveax isn't about horsepower, it's about quirky silly driving and turning heads.
I'm used to driving cars that turn heads, but for slightly different reasons!
