I wanted to give Mike a hug 😢 it was lovely how the boys acknowledged how Mike's role lends to higher probability of burnout. Please give him a re-do of his dream menu! Something that truly celebrates him, and not just a banter.

I feel like a lot of episodes that Mike is in end up with him being side-cast.
Whenever he tries something out of the ordinary, he is laughed at for "pushing his limits." Even if he wins normally, everyone is surprised.
Jamie is the riskiest normal these days, and Barry, with his concoctions, but somehow Mike still gets the rap.
Should do a Mike appreciation week or month! His next birthmonth maybe?! I'm sure he has some episode ideas he has wanted to do for a while but keep getting pushed back due to other ideas

Intentional or not, the beautiful example - Barry hearing Mike talk about feeling overwhelmed, and that feeling driving his "have you ever thought about leaving" - and hearing not just the words but then trying to dig into the circumstances behind it, and while not beating around the bush, still with such gentle consideration to how difficult admitting that and talking about that must be, approaching the conversation with a mind to problem solve it, so Mike may not have to feel that way (or to that extent) in the future. It's the empathy for your team mates that really shines. At the end of the day, you are all people, and care about one another as people. Really interesting one, I enjoyed the funny anecdotes but also the tough, honest bits. You've come so far, and have done so much to be so very proud of - and at the end of the day, you have "influenced" so many people, in so many positive ways: you have helped them choose to cook rather than take-out, how to shop smarter, how to not feel the limitation of a tight budget so much, to cut through the confusion and the mystery of the bits and bobs around a kitchen. Your channel has been a huge support to so many people in their journey through their relationship with food.

You guys are such a fun blend of different personalities that its absolutely amusing to see you be so different yet understand each other so well! Ill love to hear you talk more about yourself (obviously only as much as you are comfortable sharing). Like what were you doing before sorted? Was Mike really a music teacher (and if yes, are there any past students that watch)? How the whole "Ben cooked for the queen" thing happened? We only know snippets!
    And as a p.s.
Mike should 100% do what makes him happy, no matter what it would be, but sorted without him would NEVER be the same. He is such a joy to watch!

Just listening to the conversation about Mike and his work in production - I just wanted to say, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that in times when the channel has changed, when the focus has changed, the style has changed, the pace or even just the opening titles - that I didn't take the time to appreciate the whys and whos. I have always been a fan since I found you 7 years ago. I became very attached when your videos were the thing that kept me sane and entertained as a new mum - camped on the sofa, sortedfood as a all day constant in the background, eating, sleeping and holding my new baby, alone and tired and scared. It made me very judgemental. But I have always persevered through any of my gripes because it was always brilliant. But, Mike, if I ever was harsh, I apologise. What you do, what you all do, has brought me so much joy and entertainment and been a real comfort in the scariest and biggest changes of my life. You have taught me. both cooking and about how to be a more concious and considerate person. Thank you. To all the guys, but almost especially, Mike et al.
BTW. Still a massive Jamie Stan.

While true something I value even more is the privacy of the people I enjoy watching. I was watching a streamer the other day and people asked for a GF reveal. He just said "never". Keeping work and life separate. I really respect that.
It's a bit silly to think any of us are chummy with the people we watch.
But, as they said here as well, if I don't like specific content then just don't watch it. I think this is healthy for any creator. Let them do what they do and I'll watch what I like and skip the rest. It would be spectacularly weird if our views synched on everything.
As for influencers.... well..... Sorted has influenced me somewhat for the better I would say, but it depends what the term means :).

Big props to Mike for the vulnerability, it's so hard to do, but it's such an important to conversation to have. But also and equal massive respect to Barry for taking the time to say (more than once) no no I want to dial back to what you're feeling and really understand, and find out what caused it.
I think we've all been in that situation where we've been vulnerable, but then felt too exposed and feel like we've said enough, or not sure how to explain our feelings in words, and tried to move on from it to another topic. And it's very easy to go "well they want to move on and I don't want them to feel awkward so sure" but it's very inspiring for Barry to go "no sorry, can we go back to that point, we haven't really got to the bottom of why you felt like that and I want to understand it (because you're my friend and I don't want to happen again)"
    SO absolute bravo

@@andrewsparkes6275 I understand where you’re coming from and don’t wish to minimise the struggle for acceptance and equality. Having followed this channel for well over a decade now, the Sorted team feel like old friends. I wouldn’t want to speculate on something so personal. Especially since they already freely share so much of themselves for our entertainment.
Having said that, the Sorted community and by extension the comment section is one of the least toxic and most inclusive, welcoming places on the internet, which I believe is largely attributable to how genuinely kind and embracing the Sorted team themselves are, so I can say with reasonable certainty that you are among friends and allies here and everyone is welcome with open arms and hearts.

We are lucky to have seen you grow, have kids and it is all so real. The episode end with the reminder for the weekend live and just know that WE KNOW that Mike did the music and sang himself. He is an absolute gem ❤
We definitely need a part 2, 3, 4… as much as you can! Absolutely loved the episode.

And how the discomfort isn’t in that it’s disingenuous - they truly love and admire each other - it’s just that in a lot of cultures it’s treated like something you’re doing to try to reach a means to an end and not genuine. I still feel awkward when I’m asked to give compliments on the spot, but I do what I can to routinely and regularly compliment the people in my life and just the people I see because they are all amazing people and deserve to know as such, even if it can be a bit unexpected

I'm a fairly new subscriber. The first videos I saw were a few years old, and then the algorithm recommended some of your newer videos. I liked what I saw and subscribed. What intrigues me the most is that while your production values have become much more professional and seamless over the years, your interactions with each other and the audience remain fresh. I think that sense of freshness can only remain when you collectively enjoy what you are doing and enjoy working with each other. As far as commenters who complain about certain content, I think it was Jamie who echoed my sentiment: It's free. If you don't like it, don't watch it. For what it's worth, I especially enjoy when you feature products or companies that give back in meaningful ways or have production systems that are kinder to the planet. Thanks for the thoughtful work of the entire team and for this look into your relationships.

You guys and the whole team make a massive difference in so many peoples lives. I love the cooking aspect of your content, but its more the friendship you lot have that comes across. The fun you lot have together. You can tell you are all close, because the pranks and things you say to each other. The Great chemistry the team has is very evident. You guys are more like a family to each other. Sure you may argue and disagree, but all families do. But when you 4 and the rest of the crew come together, its GOLD. I watch and re-watch your stuff most days. I even made my own mayo because of you guys. 1st one tasted a little to strong of mustard. But the second batch tastes like a Hellman's mayo.
i just want to thank everyone on the sorted team, on and off screen. ALL YOU GUYS ARE AWSOME.

There's so much depth in this discussion, but it's the very first question - "Describe each other in one word" - which encapsulates so much about why Sorted Food works. Each answer makes perfect sense, and said so much, and it sets the door open for what follows.
Mike's the deep one, we all knew that already, but it was a real joy to see so much depth in Ben, Jamie and especially in Barry,
Thanks, boys. I'm sure it wasn't easy.

Ive been watching since I was 18 and I'm 31 now and it's so nice hearing the background struggles of working with your friends. I worked with my partner for a year and I found it hard separating the two - I couldn't imagine doing it for as long as you guys have. Huge props to you and the team for creating everything you have over the years.
Absolute loves Mike's vulnerability answering the question about thinking of leaving, and how it almost came of a shock to the others. I've had so many moments of feeling burnout and being a massive people pleaser, I've never spoke up until it was too late, and when I did my colleagues were surprised.
The way he shrunk into himself though, I just want to give him a big hug! ❤❤❤

In the CSC you had the normals trying to shore up their weak points, learn and hone new things. In the same vein as so many impressive street food stalls around the world, I'd like to see the normals each choose a strength and try to focus on that for a little while and see how far they can go when that's their sole culinary focus for a set period of time.

Mike, to be feels like one of the drivers it’s just that he works hard at not making it seem that way.
The reason this works is everybody has their role and not being able to clearly always see what that is makes the whole so much more cohesive.
