I am really sorry I realised that sometimes I do things in Ableton but don't show it in realtime (mistake at the video editing), luckyly you can always see what I am talking about usually few moment later. So don't worry if I do something in Ableton that doesn't appear in the screen first, you'll be able to catch it exactly few moments later.
All You Need Is Live As a foreigner, it is important for me to clearly see what you change in the DAW on the screen and how you connect the instruments to the sound card. And also a small sketch with an example of how all this can play at the same time
My fault, I understand, to be honest I am still struggling a lot on how to structure and create video related to hardware as I just started to do that lately. Thanks for your feedback anyway, I relly appreciate.
If you're using external devices with their own sequencer, it's often better to set the outgoing midi clock type to pattern in Live's settings. It's usually set to song mode by default.
Thank you so much for that! You are right. There are a lot of videos that describe sync to one device but this is the first I've that describes syncing to multiple. A great help.

Hello, Could you help me, Im using MPK249 midi controler with ableton, through MIDI track with External instrument running to Arturia Minibrute 2S, I can manage to control MB2S with MPK249 through Ableton. My issue is I can't have the ARP randomisation to work with the MPK , the arp is just steady , however when I press the pads on MB2S I can hear the randomisation. Thank you
Man ive been looking to get a motu interface but they are out of my budget, turns out the 828mk2 firewire goes for a really good used price on reverb. May be have to get one! Or if u where me do u get a brand new one and take the hit?
Yeah I got mine 250£ years ago, it's very solid and still working very well without any problem (considering how old this card is). Check focusrite scarlett 18i20 I think, which seems to be a good card for the price
@@latergarside-244 Yes he is right, dcc mean dc coupled, I forgot about it, you need an interface with dc coupled i/o if you want to sync your hardware by cv. Second hand motu 828 mk2 might be the cheepest option, check more info here : help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/360004966139
Alot of the delay you are getting is due to monitoring your audio in Ableton while recording. You have to direct monitor through your audio interface (set that up in your interface config app) and make sure Ableton monitoring is set to OFF.
Great tutorial tnx a lot 🙏. Quick question , can i somehow sync ableton 11 with cdj nexus 2? So the dj will play a regular dj set and for example i want to follow with some loops, fx, percussion etc. Our gear is Pioneer Cdj nexus 2, mixer DDJ 900 with 2 sound card integrated, ableton push 2 and roland handpan. It seems is really hard to follow the bpm of the dj set, i tried everyrhing, but too many cables, too complicated setup with midi sync clock 😰. Tnx a lot for your awesome video keep up with your good work.
thanks, I am not really familiar with the nexus 2 and his functions...but with the new ableton 11 you can ask ableton to follow the tempo of an external source, it might be a way
thanks mate, yeah I usually always have a rumble for the groove (ruclips.net/video/XWBU4NxPRwU/видео.html) and sometime I use a very short reverb for the top end too, to help the kick cut through the mix.(ruclips.net/video/guzmn4nhfg8/видео.html )
Could you tell me if l can use my cobalt8 synthesizer in Ableton to connect to scaler 2 and use the sound patches from my synth in scaler 2, I can't seem to make it work.
That's weird, check you soundcard sometime on some sound card you can choose to hear the input even without being connected to your computer. Which sound card do you use ?
I don't own this machine so I can't tell exactly. But I think you can sync the tr8 via usb, then you can take the midi out from the tr8 to sync the neutron.
