    nice session chris ! you are going to the money pit looking for new gear, hehe we all do , i heard your could use a sirus with the standard aluminium mast.

    • @christomo
      @christomo  5 месяцев назад +2

      You can use wings up to 100cm on alu max of 120cm wide but I think at 120cm if you are 75kg .
      The titanium fuse is mandatory at 120cm wide
      Yes this ger is not cheap even at gongs prices .
      Especially when every wing is full 9f little holes in 6 months lol just keep riding and having fun .

    loved it! waves looked bigger than a foot! or maybe I heard you wrong. looked fun. that 150L board doesn't look that big, I take it Mike is a big guy?

    • @christomo
      @christomo  5 месяцев назад

      No Mike is about 80 to 85kg solid muscle mass and same height as you around 5ft 8 ish lot of volume packed in doesn't look big from the drone .
      I think the waves jacked up to 3 feet, maybe 4 feet on the kelp bed, but sometimes you get stuck, haha, as I did . Awesome mate, have a great week

    What kind of foil do you think you need to be able to enjoy the pros of the downwindboards?
    I forgot witch mast you had, but since you said you had to change that as well as the foil, I guess you meant a stiffer mast and bigger foil… I really would like to hear your thoughts on this. I think you would be fine with your present foil, since you with a downwindboard would get more board speed (with the board on the water) that would lift you up on foil. But of course, in the lightest of winds it would be nice with a bigger foil, but it doesn’t seem like you lack wind. It seems like a great spot!
    I’d really like to hear and see more of your DW-board journey (I believe it’ll come) 😊

      Yes I'm on a alu mast 85 alu fuse and curve h xl wing aspect 8.5 1300cm2 .
      I would like to do the dw with a paddle and think the curve h xxl for 1500cm2 would work better for my heavy weight but really when you go to wider foils I should go titanium fuse and hm carbon mast. However its a big amount of cash to find.My current set up works great for winging on a dw board .
      Have a great week 😀

      I switched from a v2 mast to an hm85. It really hurts the bank account, but talking about stiffness it is a gamechanger I would not have believed

      @davesky88 I would like one just another thing on the long list that seems to be growing bigger ,haha. Thanks, mate 👍

      Yes, Kim, does she seem to really like it. She has it paired with a curve H large foil. They are well made a nice refined shape and Compact good for travel or if you have limited space, a hard board will have a few benefits if touching down but apart from that . I have not tried it, but I will ask for a go when I see her next to give a better response .thanks for watching and commenting ❤️

    Hey Chris i need an advice. I was pure beginner last year using X Over XL with a lance 105L, and after a good progresssion i asked Gong advice for a new foil with less drag, they recommanded me to change to a Curve H XL then a Fluide H 42 later. Is it ok to stay on such a big Foil ? Im usually ride on a lake with very gusty wind or very lighty. I'm 75kg. Thanks for your videos from France, i envy your home spot so much !!!! Fab

      Yes, I'm on the curve xl h for 95kg and find it good from 12 kn to 35kn super glide.
      As always it's good to have a few front wings and think about what you would like long term so get a curve xl h now maybe a curve large h or med h for strong winds in the future. Ir get the curve H in large first if your only 75kg, maybe the large curve H first and keep the xover xl for now for lower winds the C xlh will easy cover the xover xl windrange
      I have the curve 2023 in large for high winds 25kn, and that's a fun wing . In the future, I would like a curve H xxl or xxxl for very light wind, small waves, and down wind.
      Hope this helps some
      Thanks for watching and commenting.

      Also, the stabs make a massive difference the fluid stab calms it down pumps well .I use the freestyle stab it's faster turning rail to rail bit a little glide is lost so play around with the stabs get them second hand or when on sale .
      Good winds bro
