To compensate for the thin and nasal sound of this guitar I’d get a big diaphragm condenser mic and point it slightly more towards the soundhole (but not in front of it).
For the price, this sounds amazing. It's always going to sound 'boxy' because it's both small AND mahogany. Very much a recipe for vintage porch blues tone. I'm surprised though how pretty it sounds in the right hands, and even the strumming sounds nice in a warm woody sort of way. Considering you can pick this up for around US$150 it's difficult to beat for the price.
@@UCkI6pPBQ1IaNlicrwsnR5_w Joil is quite a capable player. They could've mic'd this differently and/or used a different pick. But from this demo I cannot in good conscience say it sounded satisfactory even for that price. But you know to each his own. Nice YT handle btw.
Given the price (around 200€ in Europa), it’s a great parlor. Any good musician will always makes a laminated wood guitar sounding good. I think it’s a pretty good lesson for those picky/snoby people…
hermoso sonido y hermosa melodia, se logra apreciar perfectamente el sonido acustico de la guitarra! 10/10

I bought this guitar the other day. It's great.
hey man, nice playing! what the name of the piece you played ?
Too many parlor guitars on the market - making a decision is a bind.
picking sound ok. strumming sound not so ok.
I mean it is a parlor guitar lol
@@chomosuke0720 uhm there are small body guitars that sounded better. not loud but more balanced.
