    wow that's easy lol I just bought one of these cars on Tuesday and been watching all kinds of videos on it to learn everything I can about the car and I have to say that maintenance is very easy for this car from what I've watched so far.

    This is as easy as it gets for changing spark plugs on a car. The O2 sensor looked very easy also.

    Awesome. Thanks. I so don't want to pay out the wazoo for something I can do myself. Question: I noticed after you placed the new one in, you turned it to the left first a couple times and then to the right. Where you just getting it in the right place or was this necessary?

      3/8 ratchet, 6 inch extension, 5/8 spark plug socket, and 10mm socket. All in description box.

    i did spark plugs on a ford ranger 4.0 so i can do spark plugs on anything. (had to take the passenger wheel off for one of the plugs)

    Did you have to apply anti seize to the plugs? I heard OEM plugs already come with their own anti seize so it's not needed

      Yes they come with a special coating from the factory. Its your choice to put anti seize or not.

    Are the igntion coils supposed to be in a specific order? I might have mixed mine up and want to know the correct order to put them in to reassure I did this correctly.

      No they're not. Just an OCD type of thing to keep the same coil for the same cylinder you removed them from.

    Gonna do this soon, how are the Antisieze and dielectric grease used? U apply them to the spark plugs or how?

      Tiniest amount of antiseize on the spark plug threads and little amount of dielectric grease on the end of the ignition coil boot. Check out my latest spark plug videos, I show it.

      OEM plugs are NGK. You should install OEM plugs.

      Because Hondas are sensitive to aftermarket ignition systems. Put anything but OEM then it will start giving problems. Plus, that's what the car came with just replace it with OEM. It doesn't cost more. NGK plugs on amazon are 10-13 bucks.

    When you used the torque wrench at the end why was it necessary to go counterclockwise for a 1/4 turn and then tighten it again?

      @@MrRangerZr1 Thanks. Can I get away without using a torque wrench and just use a regular ratchet? A technician at NDK recommend 11-14 ftlb for my spark plugs and I'm concerned about over-tightening them.

      These plugs last 100k+ miles. On your Si, I would change it sooner because you're most likely driving it like you stole it lol

    Very useful video! If you don't mind me asking, do you know which cylinder is number 4? ODB2 scanner says misfire on my #4 cylinder and I've been scouring the internet looking to identify the cylinder by number. Thanks

      TBH, I am not exactly sure. I believe its 1,2,3,4 starting from the left viewing the engine from the front of the vehicle. You can try swapping spark plugs or ignition coils say from the left cylinder to the right then see what the car says. I'll try finding out the exact order, I'll let you know once I find out.

      Thanks, that's the general consensus I've found so far. front of engine, 1,2,3,4 (where front of engine has the cam gear and timing belt). But yeah, for sure if you could find more info on the numbering that'd be awesome!

      Yes we're right. Viewing from the front of the car, you view the cylinders as 1,2,3,4. 4 is on the battery side.

    What size is the torque wrench? The link is for 1/2 inch but then the extensions are 3/8 inch. I purchased everything in your list but I'm not sure if I did something wrong

    MrRangerZr1, I've noticed on an online shopping site, a plug sold by Honda that's gold in color and another sold by NGK that's silver in color. Is one better than the other and do both already come with anti seize on them? Thanks. Great video.

      You mean the packaging? The NGK you buy from the store is 100% same as the one bought from the dealer, its in different packaging. Check you owner's manual for your spark plug number and go buy that only.

      No calibration needed. Just get the right spark plugs that is listed in your owner's manual.

      On the end of the ignition coil. Its just to keep water and debris out. Doesn't hurt anything.

      Keyur Patel turn the plug counterclockwise until u hear a “click” meaning the threads are lined up. Then tighten

      Its 13-16 pound feet of torque, or a 1/4 turn after hand tightened. (I show it in the video)

    I need a tune up on my 2015 honda civic lx coupe? I need 4 spark plugs. How much is the average cost for each Honda original spark plugs for 2015 honda civic coupe?? Should I buy from the dealer or no?

      The original honda plugs are just NGKs in honda labelling and marked up in price.

      @@hankgege2199 each plug should cost less than $20, i told you about the dealer markup. Use NGK as that’s what the factory put. Spark plugs are listed in the description. Parts and labor at a shop can vary from $200-$300+, scroll through the comment section, people commented on how much they saved.

      NO GAPPING!!! Modern spark plugs do not need gapping, take then out of the box and install them directly into the engine.

      Dieletric grease at the end of the ignition coil, just a little bit.
      Little bit of anti-seize on the spark plug threads.

    my '12 Civic has a cover over where the spark plugs go. Any tips on getting it off without breaking what's holding it in place ?

      I think it has a twist on type of clip where you just use a flat head and turn it counter clockwise or it has 2 10mm bolts.

    is that the same plug for all model civics? I called my dealer for a price to replace my plugs and they said it was $320. 180 for parts! I found them at my local auto parts store for $25 a plug

      Thats too much. Go to bernardi.com and search for your civic's spark plug OR look in your owners manual. Then go on amazon and buy it.

      Most of the time 100k miles is nothing for the iriduim plugs. You should change it anyway to get the "original" performance and MPGs back.

      I am not 100% sure but look in your owners maunal and get the OEM plug number. Go buy the exact plugs and just take them out of the box and install them in the car. You do not need to gap new plugs.

      I would always at least CHECK the gap. You don't know how many times the "parts guy" took them out of the box to show a different customer; and could have dropped it or something....just a thought.
