Deciding on drivers for a 2011 RAM 1500 and the front doors have an obstruction which limits the mounting depth considerably. I felt like the originals have a little more bottom but I’m glad to say that I felt the Nanos had a punchier attack on kicks especially with the bonus track. I’m May be wrong but it seems as though Morel drivers need ample amplification to demonstrate their true potential. I’m wondering if they will let me purchase one pair as well as one “single” for a center channel front stage. My feeling is that I should probably choose a coax driver for the center channel as opposed to a mid-bass driver because I m really looking for a special vocal presence up front. RAM Alpine system actually has a mounting position for a center channel but it is for like a 3.5” so I’m trying to decide if I should first experiment with 3 of their smaller drivers in the factory locations (L-C-R) and see if that brings the magic. If not, the Nano is shallow enough to fabricate a 6.5” installation. Still not sure if it would be better to create the center channel front the left and right wiring or run the center off of its own dedicated channel from the amp. It’s not in the budget to buy everything at once ( subwoofer and rear door 6x9’s) so I will try to get the front stage as good as possible first and build from there. I produce songs for all genres so I need a system that will give me goose bumps when I listen to Sade, Sting or James Taylor and shake my mirrors when I listen to Wu Tang, Led Zeppelin, The Lox and Public Enemy !!! I have a headache. I hope Morel can cover all of the bases as I am really digging the brand’s approach to audio as a whole. Thanks for the post !!!
Morel does offer quite a range of options with a range in power needs as well. In general, more power will help you get the detail and bass you want. Do you have the crew or quad cab? Do you have a specific amp and Morel speaker model or series in mind?
What would you recommend for a custom 3-way mid, the Morel Virtus Nano Carbon MM2 or CDM 700? The MM2 can cross lower while the CDM 700 can not. These would be mounted in my door next to the tweeter as its my only spot. These would be paired with the Stereo Integrity TM65 woofer and the TM25 Tweeter running of the AudioControl D-6.1200. Thanks.
It is more likely that the CDM 700 will work with the amp better and allow you to use any compatible crossover setting you use to direct the audio to them. If we assume that you ensure that neither is overpowered, then the decision is based on the amount of midrange audio you want. If you like stronger midrange, then the CMD is still the better option. If you like softer, more laid back, midrange, then the MM2 is the better option
I sure want to hear these. I'm not very clued on but I would have thought there wouldn't be enough range of movement in the drivers with how shallow they are, and that carbon fibre would be to stiff.
It would be a great choice for you to take these speakers we own a car audio shop and always recommend morel speakers because you will never be disappointed when it comes to sound quality and bass response I hope you will give them a chance and im sure you will be in love with the sound of morel And please if you do deside to get them let me know what you think of them , although i already think i know Stay safe and keep enjoying great sound
@@winstonmars702 How complex they are for tuning audio from an amplifier with DSP (JL Audio). I have found out it's very hard to tuning with Focal Utopia. I cannot find a good dealer shop for tuning all my setup in Portland, OR
I have morel maximus 6.5 components. I wanted to add these 2.5 mid but I only have 3.5 openings. Does the VIRTUS NANO MM2 2.5 set have the clips that expand them to fit 3.5 opening. Thank you.

The Morel speakers, while not bright, will have a bit more sharpness from their tweeter than the Focal K2 series. Depending on the exact K2 model, the treble might be a bit more laid back as compared to the rest of the audio. They both should have accurate bass, but the Morel becomes the winner but also needs more power to deliver that sound at the same volume level that the Focal speakers can play to.

are your amp recommendations applicable to the 63's or just the other models in this range?
The recommended amps are compatible with the 63s as well.

The 3-way crossovers suck at 1st-order and mid at 2nd-order .. I swap them to diy dayton crossovers
