@ I know! I never heard the US albums, but I’m thrilled to understand what it was like to live in USA and listen to these records! When I said amazing albums I was trying to say “amazing collection of songs” haha
Thinking of Beatles in terms of albums is in my opinion diminishing i mean most of the time making albums wasnt their goal or their focus in 60s singles were more important, that's why they their best songs werent even on albums.

To know that Ringo and Paul, in their 80’s are still healthy, happy and still making music and in possession of all of their marbles is life affirming indeed.
Paul McCartney died in a car crash in September 1966, and was replaced with Billy Shepherd. William is 87 now, and he will certainly tell the truth soon.
❤ I was just 17 😏 in 1964. I collected the Fab Four's albums from day 1! I'm proud to say I STILL have them after moving numerous times. I'm 78 years ❤ The Beatles were (are) my everything 🇺🇸
Thanks for the explanation of the remastering and the improvement of the sound quality. The Beatles deserve it by updating the work of the four geniuses from Liverpool, I can't imagine the sound with headphones, the magic continues!!! 😀😃😗😉🎤🎧🎤🎧🎤🎧🎤🎧❤️❤️❤️
So many great things for fans this month. 🙂♥️ The US albums, the Beatles ‘64 documentary, the Record Store Day Black Friday releases, and the news of the Grammy nominations! 👏🏻👏🏻
Liked the technical aspects of why the original prints had to cut the highs and lows due to the topography of vinyl. This made my nerd brain happy (and hey - while watching this, my local Jazz station is playing a jazz version of Money Can't Buy Me Love).
I remember hearing the 'bump' that the bass made on the Beatles records in the early 60's. Nothing sounded like that back then. The other bands quickly caught up though, and when the Beatle records were mixed for Stereo/CD a lot of that lovely 'bump' vanished. It will be good to hear these lovely recordings in mono again, mastered by guys who know their stuff. Thank you Beatle people..

Here in the US, we were educated with how the mixes should sound, through imports and of course the introduction to the compact disc. However, I still love the American counterpart releases that we had when I was a kid. It's what I grew up with, and even though the UK versions are far superior, these versions were the soundtrack of my childhood.
That's why they sounded thin. Even though there were already quality hi-fi records in those days. I think the first mono CD's released (which I bought) were from these recordings, because the remasters sound better. A rare things as most remasters are just an excuse to compress music to modern audience.
@@hepphepps8356 I wonder what age you are ?, i grew up when stereo was normal and mostly heard the beatles in stereo, was later on when i heard SGT pepper in Mono and loved it.
I'm surprised that you didn't talk about the base recording tech; The Beatles were recorded in EMI studio, on the original tapes, using 4-track equipment. Meanwhile, in the US we used 8-track recording equipment. The 4-track equipment they used was VERY limiting and go a long way into why their music didn't sound as deep, and rich as US artist's recordings did.
The US albums have really grown on me. I have them all in mono. I actually prefer albums like Meet The Beatles and Rubber Soul to their UK counterparts!
Desde los 9 años Los Beatles me cambiaron la vida y hoy que tengo casí 44 años los sigo admirando y agradeciendo por todo lo que aportaron a la humanidad.
They will. For this reason everytime they work on them they copy the tape to a new one. So they had to reproduce each tape hopefully only once for the whole process.
i love the new releases with refreshed mixes. but the origianl mono versions are the way they did it originally, and that mash of sound into a mono limiter is how its supposed to sound. i have both, and the mono versions just sound huge....
Two things: One, he describes vertical modulation. Mono records have no vertical component, they are purely lateral. Maybe that was an editing error that made him seem to imply something he didn't really say. Two, can we just get a 24 bit, 96kHz digital copy straight off the tapes, with no mucking about?
I have two ears, i dont want the same sound in both ears. Mono is cool if you have an Amazon Echo or some lame bluetooth speaker.....in my ears I want separation. I understand why the first two albums and even Rubber Soul are better in Mono, but the remixes post 2015 era have improved so much and we almost have a perfect Rubber Soul remix someday. Other than early 60s stereo of vocals being one channel, I never never understood the pleasing sound of mono in headphones over a well mixed stereo session.
The original mono mixes were mixed WITH the Beatles in the studio but the stereo mixes were mixed without them by just the audio engineers of Abbey Road. That's why !!

The Beatles music is still so timeless, so much is out there on the Beatles but the only movie that they show is a hard day's night what about Help or Let it be why don't they show them
I met Paul in person last october. Watching this gives me panic, because I can’t believe I met the guy that made those amazing albums.
They technically never made these albums though, Capitol started messing them up from the original UK releases.

Mesmerizing to hear and watch a master of his craft who's showing the uttermost respect for the best band ever

It all sounds better in mono, weirdly. But it does.
Rock and roll generally does, should be an assault from both channels
I think they are much more fun in stereo, personally.

Amooo❤❤❤
I’m not crazy about “The Beatles Story” being included, but I’m all for the rest. I’ve still got all the original releases..
Capitol's handling of those albums was the worst (in the best way). The British releases are the best. They are pure and they are the originals.
Now all you need is a great audio equipment to listen to these recordings
Interesting that the reference turntable is using an Ortofon 2M Blue. I guess that is what I will use to listen to them.
I still want to know how they are able to be "creative" with it? How much are they changing it? I don't know much about the process
For preservation purposes, were these masters digitized so the originals can be preserved without fear of an accident?
