Nina represented Serbia at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, performing the song 'Caroban'. Serbia came in 14th position in the Final with 85 points.
She now lives in Melbourne, Australia and studying a PhD in Pharmacology. Great singer and a smart lady. :-)
she lives in my city 🤩
how do you know it though?
@@marjanoviccc because ive seen her atthe local market
Really wow
This song was very overlooked. It shows how Serbia is able to send all types of music to the contest, but always maintaining the quality!
...Cipela?
Collision SC-
I don't know. I suddenly cannot read.
George Austin Tay Lol what.
+George Austin Tay He is talking about Serbia's 2009 entry called "Cipela" with Marko Kon.
Jo Brock
I know, I was just quoting Mariah Carey
In my opinion, one of the most underrated songs in Eurovision. I love it.
Becouse Not in english
@@filat336 Yes, that's one of the reasons, beyond doubt.
❤️ from serbia

@@cacostaangulo fully agree. With
I just accidentally heard this song on Mongolian FM radio and loved it right away. Luckily, I also have close Serbian friends. Congratulations to Serbia. Warm greetings from Jakarta.
You should listen Spiritus by Jakarta, serbian rock band.
On mongolian Radio ? Wow
That's... a weird combination of Mr. Worldwide... kudos tho.
This song is fantastic and should have won... I know the winning song was good, but this was good, SO SO feel good, and captures the 60's style perfectly... One of my Eurovision favourites ever
It's just a great feelgood song, perfect for sunny days!
Absolutely right. Watching it now in 2019 I enjoy it as much as I did at the time - it gives me little chills of pleasure up and down my spine! This is a great performance - love the three backing singers expecially.
Loved the song and I loved her in this
the winning song wasn't good. generally agreed as one of worst winners ever.
It's my favourite song in 2011!! Big love from Japan:)
u not from japan..liar
+Madara Obito Uchiha
Saki Sakura Really cool that there are Eurovision fans from Japan.^^ Who's your favorite this year?
ok then :p
+Emil Müller My favourite in 2017 is Sweden! But I guess Italy will win...and also hope Belarus will qualify for the Final!
What a wonderful ESC this was. That backdrop is stunning. Love this cute 60's style tune too!
2021 and still in love with this amazing tune. It fills me with such joy every time I hear it. 😍
I Freaking *LOVE* all of Serbia's Songs
serbian songs always people's favorites isnt it...regards Aidan from Serbia
Honestly who doesn't.
I'm proud of that. Greetings from Serbia! 🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸
THIS WAS MY FAVE FROM 2011 AND I COMPELTELY FORGOT ABOUT IT UNTIL NOW
Still listening ten years later in 2021 🎶🎶🎶
Somehow I find myself listening to this song again and again :D Even though I don't understand a word
There is a video of her singing this in English which is just as good but you can't beat her singing it like this
best eurovision song i have ever heard
Most underrated serbian entry
This is the very first Serbian song that I completely memorized. This was my bet for 2011.
Her voice sounded exhausted in some parts of the song but I don't blame her at all. The song was very upbeat and she's also moving a lot while I get tired just singing it. 😂
Even after 10 year later I come back and listen to this song that should had won the Eurovision in 2011.
This song makes me feel happy, when I am sad. Najljepše pjesma! Pozdrav iz jedno hrvat😊👋
❤️🇷🇸
I continue listening this song since I first listened at the Festival. Love you Nina! ✨
Greetings from Spain!!! ♥️
Anyone also here to see Tijana Bogicevic as a backing singer? xD
Yes :) But i already loved the song
ESC Simon she isn't in grand final
ESC Simon yes!
EurovisionHUN The one with the red/orange outfit. She was standing right in the beginning :D
ESC Simon she better stays as a backing cause she cant sing alone.
2023. Listening to this great song.
Still loving this!
Winner winner winner
Jel Ovo Pop pesma ?
She was nervous but the song was really good. There were a lot of good songs in 2011, so.. it was difficult to get a high possition. However, she became 14th, which is not bad at all. Congratulations Serbia! I like your entries every year since 2010, which is the year I started focusing on the Eurovision Song Contest :)
One of my favourite Serbian entries! Still listening to it 10 years later
Caroban's meaning is "magical" isn't it
+nymph shadow Yes, the word probably has the same roots as the English word charm/charming (which is related to the word magic). Because Caroban is actually spelled with an accent above the 'c', like this: Čaroban
And that accent makes the 'c' sound like a 'ch', so the beginning of the word sounds the same as the first four letters in charm/charmed/charming etc.
+Jo Brock yeah it's look logical.I'm turkish and we use "ç" letter for "ch" sound and it's like çaroban :)
+nymph shadow The Turkish presence is missed at Eurovision for sure, you had a special energy and strong acts. What was the reason Turkey dropped out?
+Jo Brock they said the voting system is unjust but I disagree with them, and I think it's not about voting system or eurovision it's about their middle east mind, I'm sorry about that cause I really love Eurovision and meet other cultures
+Jo Brock by the way thanks for your good thoughts
I loved this song and downloaded it.
Love from the UK
One of my ultimate ESC classics ♡ so soulful and fun!!!
emphasis on 'classic'
How did I not know about this song before today?! Spectacular.
This is one of my favourite Eurovision songs ever and my favourite from 2011, it's magical! 😊
i see what you did there
This is so underrated and it deserves so much more love wish you were in the top ten 24 points from germany🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
The true winner of 2011!!! ❤️👏
Loving the 60s influence.
Ahhh what a fun an refreshing song! I love how she sings in our language; I love the bright swirly background (so many positive vibes here!); I love Nina's charisma; I love the 60's aesthetic. She's so bubbly -- just look at 1:08, for example!
Fantastic stuff. I'll come back whenever I need a dose of positive energy! :)
Milena Đ. I couldn't say it better, best comment :)
Ebakyza Thanks! I'm really surprised the song didn't do better. To those who say the song was too fluffy or upbeat to win... just look at last year's winner, Satellite. Way more shallow and generic :)
Milena Đ. Well, I used to it, that not many people likes the songs I like, so I'm not surprised. :D There are not many winner songs I like, but Satellite was an exception. :)
I'm happy that you at least like it :) That makes one of us!!
Same and if I were you I would look into other persons that sings the same language as Nina which would be Montenegro Bosnia & Croatia since those countries speak the same Serbo-Croatian language like nina coming from the 🇺🇸 NYC area where Tamar Carol & Andras are from
Now I understand why Anke hyped so much about their qualification
Still listening to this gem during the pandemic of 2020 and it lifts my spirits every single time. Lovely tune!
This was the year I first started watching ESC live and I fell in love with this song. I was younger and it helped me appreciate foreign languages. After hearing the English version, I realized the Serbian version is superior! Since then I've always preferred that the singers sing in their own language.
million points from Lithuania! i love this song and all the performance :)
loved this song even though I have no idea what she is singing doesn't matter
She sings about her husband, she says that be loves her
She's singing about her love...he is magical, when she is standing next to him, she fells that's everything is ok, simply he respect her and makes her feeling especially and worthy like thousand women..🙂
Thanks everyone, after making this comment I found the English version, though I prefer the Serbian x
I dalje se slusa🙂
Yes, 2024 and still LOOOVE it 🎉❤🎉
I do not understand any word but this was one of the best songs in 2011! Thanks Serbia!
May 2024 and still listening and watching this jewel. Pure 60s fashion
That girl in orange dress represents Serbia this year! go Tijana!
Still watching in 2017, this song should have won by a mile.
I like the song but I LOVE the LED background. The song is good, but the best part about the video is the editing by the director to get those fantastic shots which cut right on the beat. Nobody does it better than the directors at Eurovision. Brilliant!
Should’ve won that year ....
she oozes class
Wish we could have more songs like this :) Simple staging, feel good song, it’s perfect!
Serbian Katy Perry
Best country ever!!! ♡
4 years on i long forgot who won singing what, but i still remember this song. the tune is catchy and the show is pleasant + easy on the eye, for me she would have deserved to win.
I totally agree ❤
... now in 2024 and still LOOOVE it. The best song of ESC 2011 🎉
I have no clue what she's singing about but I really enjoyed the song at the time and still think it's great. It's baffling that it finished so low in the results. I also love the 60's vibe to the whole performance.
I've now discovered that she recorded an English version
she remind me by yougoslavia entry in 1990 she is butiful like her
dado lado yes, it has similarities with Hajde da ludujemo
Sto volim sto Srbiju predstavljuju lijepe zene.Ove godine Uraganke.Lijepi ljudi i pretezno dobre kompozicije.
This song rocks !!!
Fantastic song, great vibes, first Serb song I listened to and still love it after so many years! Soooo overlooked, even spotify doesn't have it despite having older eurovision serb stuff.
The girls look like they could be in Scooby Doo 😂😂😂
Pjesmaaaa je toooppp
Proud that Nina represent my country Serbia
I like nina ,but not serbia
@@paulvazzo3723 I like Serbia, but not you
@@dusanavramovic8335 who cares serbia did a lot of damage by hurting Kosovars and damaged its image forever ....very similar to russians
My favourite song back then... -
Very beautiful
Really good song. Says some thing about Europe when it doesn't even get in the top 10.
12 points from Poland....I'm vote on that song....fucking Eurovision...
😘 Serbia
2020 and i still LOOOOVE this song !!!
honestly this is my second favourite Serbian entry, my favourite is 2013
+Harry Mcburney Same :)
+stevan ljustinic More Importantly, Molitva?
"Oro" maybe
Goodbye (Shelter)?
2013 was our shittiest entry ever i cant believe you liked it
Missing You, Serbia!
she sang like she sang in the official video. should've been higher than 14th more like top 10
I liked this so much and this was one of my favourites... It has been almost 5 years when this was in ESC... wow... time goes very fast. :D
So underrated!!!!!!! Love it
i love this song there are for me the winner👑
My obsession with Serbian music has gone too far
best song ever
love her ♡♡♡♡
Probably my favorite Eurovision song of all time. I like very underrated songs from ESC. I think t his entry should've won rather than that boring trash that Azerbaijan sent. 11 years to this songs and it will always be in my heart
Una gran coreografía,buena iluminación,e intérprete simpática¡
I put a bet on this as it was outstanding song, by far the best and well performed. How it didn’t win is a mystery
This is Anke's favorite song
I agree with all the positives below, check out the English version thats also just as good to listen to, with all the positive energy in the lyrics translated into an excellent europop song
My third favorite Eurovision song since 2000. I have absolutely loved this since the first time I heard this, and I enjoy more with each successive listening.
one of the first non english songs i started to listen
One of the best Serbian entries and one of my very favorites ever!
Loved this song and the 60s-70s vibe
This is for sure underrated
I was so mad when Nina didn't win - she gave a great performance.
One of my favourite Eurovisión songs any time...
12/12 from Turkey...
Love this girl and song
This is so underrated I have this 3rd in my ranking! It's so catchy! but to be fair the backing singers really help the song.
a great song, much underrated. Would have sounded even better with a live band or orchestra backing.
This song is more British than last 10 songs from Great Britain!
This is my 2nd. Germany is my 1st. I really love this song since my father was in a band and they made sonhs like this.
Love this performance
Oh God my 6 or 7 year old self loved this one.
This girl is carobaaaan!
Pretty Nina
2023 Hei
