Yes, the rubbers are different but there is no force or impulse that one rubber can generate than other cannot. The trajectory is determined by the impulse so there is no trajectory that one rubber can generate that another can't within reason. It just takes a different stroke to compensate for the differences in the rubbers. Everyone gets hung up on hard vs soft rubber. It is more of a preference. What people should be interested in is the normal ( 3D perpendicular ) and tangential coefficients of restitution. In the end it comes down to "what can I do with this rubber that I can't do with that rubber?". Tacky rubbers give up a little speed but they allow the looper to brush the ball more thinly without the fear of the ball sliding off the paddle. This assumes the player is good enough to brush the ball consistently. The timing must be very good brush the ball since the effective cross section of the paddle is very small.
Im using dhs hurricane 3 provincial(boosted) and dignic 09c So far i cant use dhs 3 for my forehand and more suitable with dignic, backhand using dhs 3. I think using chinese hard tacky rubber u need more technique (wrist, body and footwork l) to make it perfect use
Great video! Do you have any experience with tacky Chinese rubbers that have a softer sponge? I'm thinking like Hurricane 3-50. It seems like it might be able to combine effects from both worlds?
I don't think that they are very effective because they are just far too slow and dead. With very tacky rubber, you need a harder faster sponge or the dwell time will be too much. You won't get any power at all.
You ask 5 players to describe the same rubber and you get 5 totally different and conflicting descriptions. They will all agree the DHS Hurricane is hard and sticky (because that's dead obvious before you even hit a single ball!!!) but that's where the agreement ends.
Hi and thank you for your feedback! We are going to try to improve overtime regarding the noise in the background. Maybe we are going to start recording in less busy hours. Once again, thanks for your comment! :)
But how should you progress from the beginner stages, and at what time is it okay to give chinese rubbers a go? I've heard both ways, start with hard rubbers or start with soft rubbers, from credible sources. I would think there are two different philosophies (chinese and european). My trainer says that I will have to go back to soft rubbers if I try to start playing with hurricane 3 now.
I guess it comes down to feeling and what you like. If you prefer to play with Chinese rubber, then maybe you should. If you prefer a bouncier and safer rubber, you should try an ESN rubber. I think there is a reason that only the Chinese play with it at a high level. Also, their versions are much different than the ones available to the rest of the world.
huge question for technique differences, for chinese rubber do you have the face more open or closed on contact? When I play I feel like have to close the angle more for all rubbers except 729 battle 2 orange sponge, I can't really figure out hurricane 3 , it feels like I'm doing something wrong. I have issues trying to lift a ball below the table. Please assist I really want to use it to understand how it works and do an honest comparison.
Which hurricane rubber would you suggest for someone who's just starting out using chinese rubber? I previously uses esn tensor rubbers. Any recommendations on if i should get the commercial /provincial h3, whether to boost or not, which hardness to go for, and whether to get the factory tuned neo version or non-neo. I'm planning to use in on inner carbon blade. Thank you in advance🙌
Friendship 729 is the rubber that every chinese player ever starts with. Very controlled, very spinny and tacky. If you wanna check out chinese style rubbers without breaking bank, try this. If you are already playing in a league etc, you can boost the friendship 729 to see how a more lively chinese rubber would play.
@@vizull371 the blade on the video looks like some DHS or Nittaku Ma Long 5, why? By the way, what are the best non carbon 5 ply blades for you? I like Acoustic, Ma Long 5...
it would be faster if you hit harder, Ma Long uses super hard rubber cause he hitng so hard, but fo weaker players a softer rubber would be faster on the low end

Тo improve your videos, shoot the techniques from a different angle, explain the strokes by separation them into body and arm parts. The contact with the ball is very important - show carefully and closely. Show the wrist - whether it is fixed or not and how it handles the ball . Otherwise , nothing is understood by people. Good luck !
@@vizull371 hi ,thanks for the great info,I would like to know which particular hurricane rubber you are using,I like how you can drive through that heavy underspin as contrasted with the backhand rubber.Thank you and keep up the good work!
Very informative for players who can’t decide which to go for 👍🏽
Finally someone explains this in a way I actually understand. Thank you VERY much VIZULL.
Best explanation I came across. Great stuff.! 👏👌👍
Awesome, thank you!

Great video. Finally got some uncertainties cleared up. And I didn't find the noise in the background annoying FWIW. Honestly I didn't even notice it

Great video! Do you have any experience with tacky Chinese rubbers that have a softer sponge? I'm thinking like Hurricane 3-50. It seems like it might be able to combine effects from both worlds?
Hurricane 3-50 doesn't have catapult (speed glue effect). To get the best of both worlds you need something like Dignics 09c or Rakza Z.
I don't think that they are very effective because they are just far too slow and dead. With very tacky rubber, you need a harder faster sponge or the dwell time will be too much. You won't get any power at all.
Very interesting, very similar to how I felt.
Super cool video! I consider to change to a chinese rubber. I have one question, do you use a booster for your DHS Huricane?
Yes, Haifu Seamoon.
@@vizull371
What is your boosting routine and how often do you reboost? Nice video
very good summary! be great if you can compare the chinese rubber made in germany vs european etc. i.e. non-sticky chinese rubber for plastic balls
You ask 5 players to describe the same rubber and you get 5 totally different and conflicting descriptions. They will all agree the DHS Hurricane is hard and sticky (because that's dead obvious before you even hit a single ball!!!) but that's where the agreement ends.
Which ply are you using in this video? All wood or carbon ply?
Great info but background playing table tennis is loud and distracting

great clarifications.... however, be great to include the smashing....
Just played with the hurricane national blue. It feels so dead. Will it make a big difference if I boost the rubber?
Sure
