Steps:
The first thing you need to do is find the watch's serial number.
You can do this two ways, in the settings or on the watch itself.
To find the serial number in the settings, tap the digital crown to open the app menu, then tap the settings cog to open settings.
Scroll down and tap ‘general’.
Then tap ‘about’.
Scroll down and you can see the serial number.
To find the serial number on the watch, turn the watch over so the back is facing up, then take off the top strap by pressing down on the silver button and sliding the strap off.
The serial number is in the gap where the strap was attached.
The next step is to open a web browser on your phone or computer and go to ‘checkcoverage.apple.com’ this is an official Apple website to check your watch's warranty coverage.
Enter your watch's serial number into the text box, then fill out the captcha and tap ‘send’.
Here you can see that this watch is genuine as it is registered as the correct watch and shows the purchase date and when the warranty expires.
If the watch is not real, when you enter the serial number and hit send it will say ‘please enter a valid serial number’.
