I agree. I have the kato and these feel 80% of the kato. Very similar tone and tuning. The imaging is incredible. Its very precise on placement, the only con being that it doesnt have a wide sound stage to make the imaging shine. Which is such a shame. Id gladly pay 80 for a refined upgrade to these where its got more sound stage while maintaining that good imaging quality. Cause thats its best point tbh. Despite being 20 bucks and having a smaller sound stage, it makes the most of the stage it has to work with. It feels seperated and detailed. Not as detailed as the kato...but like my god. Its still up there given the price point. Its hard to suggest getting anything aside from this until you hit the $100+ range. Its just that good. Love my hexa and kato but these have captivated me for sure. Theyre my new daily driver
I think my problem with Moondrop is that their tuning is the same across most of their IEM offerings. I understand that most manufacturers do this but when all you're gaining when going up a price tier is slightly better separation, imaging, and detail it becomes more and more difficult to justify having SO many different options in the lower price bracket.
@@kamrankambang7953 chu 2 is about 70- 80% of the way there. Kato sounds more lush in the vocals and treble. Low end is relatively comparable though. It's not too far off though. Surprising tbh given the price of the chu 2
Nice review! I really like your personable style! Just got these...a couple thoughts. They are tiny! They fit right into the ear so if a small form factor is important these are great. However, I couldn't get a good fit with any of the included tips and had to find others to get the right seal for me. Once I did though , these have very nice bass and clean sound throughout. Very enjoyable! The cable tangles easily but that's not unusual. I also recently got the Bass edition of the KZ Castor and they absolutely blew me away but they are definitely more bassy so if that's not your thing I would recommend these instead. I also purchased the Moondrop Space Travel and although they are a bit glitchy, they are an amazing TWS value as well. Good for Moondrop! It's my first experience with this brand and I'm doubly impressed 😊
been using for almost a week, the sound is so clear and especially the snare and the bass drum kick topled with crisp high hat, worth way more than the price but the eartips is kinda sheet, gotta order the spring tips one

Chu 2 vs Cadenza? I'm trying to pick between the 2, but I'm having difficulty since I've never investigated the iem market. I've heard the Chu 2 have forward/strong vocals which I like, but that's about all I know. The price isn't a major factor, so if the cable, build, and sound are only slightly better on the cadenza, I still might prefer to get them. AKA I don't intend to get another iem down the road unless I'm completely blown away
Nice review! Gaming during summer i get really sweaty in my headphones covering my ear, never really considered IEMs can be a good alternate. Recently saw quite a few streamers using them, easily worth trying this for 18€. Should arrive in a few weeks, can't wait!
@ewe392 I use them everyday, the sound is fantastic, comfort is fantastic. My 2 issues with it is that on the PC directly it's not loud enough for me and the cable feels a bit cheap. Then again it's still like new so I guess it's not a real issue.

I've just bought the Chu 2 as an alternative to my trusty Soundmagic E10 bullet earphones. I stream music through Tidal Hi-fi Plus/USB Audio Player Pro in bit-perfect mode, using a Helm Bolt dongle DAC. The Chu 2 look impressive and are really comfortable to wear. Contrary to the hype on RUclips, however, the Chu 2 represent style over substance. They lack clarity and the tuning is very odd. The E10s sell for around £30 in the UK and are a much better option in my opinion.
I've seen some reviews that say it has trouble playing if it's not powered correctly, requiring a device more strong to play it Did you manage to test it this way?

I know, probably late af, but yeah definetly. I have owned these exact KZ's and I know what you mean. Even Moondrop Quarks which cost 10 bucks crush KZ's to death. So yeah definetly Chu and Quarks are a great option for you. My KZ's finally died on me so I'm getting the Quarks and Chu II's.

In my experience with all iem, no the higher price bracket u buy the less value u get (diminishing return). But u do get better technical with 50ish price. So yea its more like how much ur willing to spend. I just got my red. Is it 3 times better than my wan er? Hell no. But i still like it for upgrade anyway

Instead of getting a replacement cable, you should get the TRN BT20 Bluetooth modules. The IEM still sound great and the battery on the modules last forever.
Checked through your channel and not seeing a Kato video. So let me put it to you that you are now on a mission to get those and review them. Honestly, it’s not even a review, it’s more so that you can understand how great they are and it will improve your life.😊

As far as outcompeted, I’m not super familiar with every iem in the Kato price range, but I haven’t heard anyone bring up multiple devices that put the Kato to the side lines. I have the AFUL Performer 5, and as amazing as that iem can be, it’s not even close to dethroning the single dynamic driver king. They are trying to do two different things as far as tuning so I don’t fault it but it’s not better. Just wondering which IEMs are out competing?

I use a smsl ho100 and put it on gain 2, oh yes, everything gains body and greater definition. try to do the same!!! the impedance is very low, even if its sensitivity is high, it still needs good current

personally ended up getting the lan. the lan has unbelievable clarity and detail for the price, and i can easily pick up footsteps and still feel fairly immersed. gunshots sound genuine and unfatiguing.

Keep in mind the tuning on both IEMs are similar, the Chu 2 just has a little less warmth/darkness to it. I prefer the Chu 2 but both IEMs are good if you're looking for an ultra budget IEM.

I have both and for me wan'er sounds better, but different cable is necessary, stock is way too shitty. But overall experience of an IEMs from the chu 2 is more relaxed, with better build quality and really great cable for the price
If you're willing to spend that extra money, you might as well get the Blon BL03's. Keep in mind that Blon BL03's are a huge pain for people with slightly smaller ears, I'm definetly one of those and had endless problems with fitting them and their chassis always pressed against one of my ear bones and caused pain. But yeah, if you have normal or even bigger ears, they'll be a wonder. They sound amazing and in my opinion they beat many 150€ over ear studio monitors. If you have smaller ears pick up Chu 2's, Quarks. These two IEMs also push way over the price point and often beat many other monitors to the grave. They are the budget kings

No brother, sadly it doesn't. I think there is an USB-C variant, which has an in-line mic. It costs a tat but more. Around 22 Bucks. It's available in South East Asia.
Could purchase the Tripowin Zombur cable with a mic for$9usd. I did this for my Holas ,2pin .78 straight 3.5mm connection. Not a bad cable for a budget iem.

Arrived yesterday, I was also blown away but they are somehow hard to fit. Noozle is too wide.

Zero is a flatter sound. Less rumble and less sparkle. I prefer this to the Zero but that’s not to say they’re objectively better.
zero has a wider soundstage. these have more bass.

I used them with as much as an Info Zendac2 and Fiido K5 Pro but also just my basic phone adapter and MacBook output. These sound great regardless.

I think there is an USB-C variant, which has an in-line mic. It costs a tat but more. Around 22 Bucks.

that is a no brainer, for this price you even get a detachable cable, just buy an aftermarket cable with an inline mic.

Could purchase the Tripowin Zombur cable with a mic for$9usd. I did this for my Holas ,2pin .78 straight 3.5mm connection. Not a bad cable for a budget iem.
