I am an only child. My parent's bedroom was half the size of my room because the woman who owned the house before us had the wall between the two back bedrooms demolished, and so the two back rooms became my one big bedroom. The only negative thing was the heating vent disappeared in my room so I never had heat. During the winter months my bedroom was always 63 degrees.
Initially when Godfrey reacts to that line, I thought of bathroom, but a second later it occurred to me that he might have thought Rob was calling him "boy".
When they got the great Godfrey Cambridge for a role as a Government agent one of the show 'fact checkers' wondered if there really were any black FBI agents and Dick Van Dyke said if there are not there should be.
Boy are you brainwashed. It was the 1960s, not the 1860s. Of course there were black FBI agents. There were black cops, black lawyers, black judges, etc. Of COURSE there were black FBI agents. 🙄
On the wall of Richie's room are two hand puppets from The Addams Family; one of Morticia and one of Uncle Fester. Funny since both shows were on different networks. Of course by the time this episode aired, The Addams Family had been cancelled, and this was the final season of The Dick Van Dyke show.
@@enriquesanchez2001 That makes a lot of sense. I noticed that a lot of shows in the 1960s used the same music like this for their own shows. Thank you.
@@garyfrancis6193 Yeah. That was funny because Barney didn't know that some farmers plow their fields in the evenings with lights on their plows. He thought the farmer was a criminal. Lol.
Interestingly enough, Rhoda made the same comment that Laura did in this episode, on the MTM show regarding checking the cab driver's i.d. They both said that advice came from their mothers. Coincidence? I think not.

@RetrORuby-I think that Marvin’s voice is of an actor called Bert Remsen.Sounds like him more than Pat Harrington not sure since still watching this episode.
When the G-man tells the Petrie’s they are investigating their neighbor across the street, Rob questions “Jerry Harper?” Then later when Godfrey gets a toothache, Rob says Jerry is the next door neighbor.
Good grief. Who on earth would let the FBI surveille their neighbors? A rotten Karen and apparently Rob & Laura. Come to think of it, in this show, Rob was the biggest Karen on the planet even befor Karen got recently discovered.
Mr Godfrey Cambridge. A talented Actor who died so young and Way to Soon Well Missed RIP

Richie's room is large. The kitchen's large. Must be nice to have a large house.
I laughed my head of when Rob took a picture of poor Harry Bond sleeping on the job. 😂😂
9:08 "Oh. I'll take you to the boy's room." "I beg your pardon?" This show was way ahead of its time in 1966. 🤣
It's sweet how Rob immediately first jumps to protect Laura before doing anything else.
Richie's bedroom is bigger than my entire house! It even looks bigger than his parents' bedroom!😱

I’m glad he had a big room, they constantly told him to go play in his room or to go to bed. 😂
“We had a dog poisoned once” “and you think you’re neighbor did it” “no we didn’t live here then” cracks me up every time 😂
The Legendary Godfrey Cambridge is in This Episode.
❤❤
Harry Bond deserved his own sitcom
@16:23...The same incidental music used on *The Andy Griffith Show* since they were all affiliated with the *Danny Thomas Show* at *Desilu Studios* .
love the old monster models in richies room..i had those too as a kid
The Addams Family hand puppets were pretty cool too.

@rtususian he thought that he was referring to the "boy's room" as in the restroom.
@@rtususian That's right. This is the correct take.

I'm sure there were, as how else would they have been able to look into certain things out in the field? They had to blend in.

Mary's hair is so cute.
The music is the same music that they use for a stakeout in "The Andy Griffith Show."
My, aren't we observant! 👀
That is what is called a STOCK MUSIC CUE in the business. It could be used by any program that had the rights.

If Robert Vaughn had shown up in this episode guest starring as Napoleon Solo from UNCLE the joke would have been perfect!
