Man their music was so good...so much better than their "pop band image" made some people think. They had some great musicians and arrangements, song writing...I wish they would never have started the "hip hop", rapping, crap that really started when they left Freddie Records for Fonovisa...
Bobby believe it or not. Most their hits songs where written by Tony's older sister and the arrangements by Cruz Martinez, Cruz Guerrero, Alex "Pretty Boi" and Ray Talamantes. Like you said an extremely gifted and talented music group.
Jose Yes! María Luisa G Ramírez I think was her name....she wrote awesome songs! Not sure if she wrote any on the One of a Kind album. That one is packed with great lyrics!
Bobby totally man Fonovisa destroyed this great band, If they would have stayed at freddy theyd still probably be together, the first thing fonovisa did was give tony and gavino more money, thats why pepper left and after that harvey, later on jesse,,, Sad... they never recovered from the original musicians leaving the band!
@@johnyflorez5397 not only that they ditched the real instruments for the digital instruments like the bass, guitar, and even the drums. You can tell by their recordings from Porque te quiero to Caliente dulce amor they just flat out focused on recording just instruments from the keyboard a whole different style that didn't identify with the original La Sombra style anymore. Granted they won a grammy nomination from Porque Te Quiero but it would have been better for La Sombra to go back to Freddie than to go with EMI
