Thanks again Ross for taking the time to come to Melbourne and review my cars and I hope you enjoyed the drive of the VF. It was such a weapon at full noise on the radials so maybe next time we can get it on an airport runway or drag strip to really stretch its legs. :)
Your cars are absolutely amazing brother..love what you have done 2 them absolutely amazing
@@friendz4209 thanks mate, they are both amazing cars to be able to cruise around in on the streets. :)
Thank you Brett was great to see both cars that day!
Hay bro Melbourne boy myself love the car culture here Good to see Ross enjoyed your ride vz Glenn
Why not just personally thank him? Ego trippin
A tribute to how awesome the VF is, long live the VF.
The VF’s are a special car that is for sure
Anything that is compared to a 5 Series BMW for handling is worth it weight, best car ever made in this great land.@@brettstuchbery1672
Love ross's face expression with that power pull by the driver
Haha I couldn't see what his face was doing from the drivers seat but it was pulling so hard it was the best fun too. :)
😵💫😵💫😵💫😈😈😈
Great review of the VF Commodore. Sure is one of the fastest Commodore’s you have reviewed. I love the wine of the supercharger and the exhaust note. Interested to see how it goes with a built box. A credit to the owner once again. Thanks for the review.
Whine
thanks for that, it is a great package to cruise around all the time and is crazy fast when you want it to be. With a built box I could launch it harder at the track and would probably be a few tenths quicker than launching softer to save the standard box.
@@marktiltins8845 Yes I know. It’s a typo.
What size pulley , and throttle body pls great car
It’s running a 10% OD crank pulley and 65mm blower pulley so is basically maxed out lol. Also runs a 103mm TB from Granatelli Motorsports which is built for boost and the TB blade doesn’t flap under boost like the stock one did.
That 4 plus something pull is pretty impressive imo ...
Thanks for that, I was pretty happy with that 4.3 as it was only my 3rd attempt so with a bit more fine tuning I could have got it into the high 3's I'm sure. :)
@brettstuchbery1672 you were mentioning something about tuning the auto on the video. I know plenty of VE owners who would love their auto tuning to be improved,if you could get auto blip on downshifts like the late VF you could be onto something.
@@hellothere4342 I tune a lot of 6L80E's and the are they drive so much better after a tune it's crazy that they didn't come out like that from factory as they are way more enjoyable.
Very impressive
Super time considering keeping traction is the name of the game . Trying to get a 1900 kg+ car to achieve that is fantastic.
My favourite car i have watched yet . Bravo to the big boy SS.
Thanks for that, it is an awesome all round package that drives super nice but is bloody fast lol
@@brettstuchbery1672 You should be proud of that awesome sleeper you have created, I would love it. Merry Christmas. 👍
@@lukes5533 thanks mate, it's fun being able to cruise either it or the VX that also on here a few months back. Merry christmas to you too
What I actually love about this build, not even hard on the throttle it's braking traction. You can have a little swirl without the attention of being loud on the peddle.
The torque is so instant with this combo it's a blast to drive that is for sure. :)
@@brettstuchbery1672 absolutely 💯 ❤️ it... even with drag radials it was ready to slip its crazy the torque to do that and still not make a scene with huge noise. Well done 👏 awesome build.
@@stevenloynds3691thanks for that, when I got the car initially it had a way louder exhaust on it but I changed the whole setup to be quieter and more refined so it doesn’t cause as much of a scene lol
Bessie Creek Road represent. Very familiar with that stretch.
It’s a nice scenic drive old Bessie Creek Road :)
Hit the like for Ross’s hard work bringing this channel. 🇬🇧
Keep it up and merry Christmas 🎉
He does a lot of travel to try and keep up this content for us all...
This tuner 10/10 gets out there and has a go ...some one you can trust .. excellent suspension and tyre set up ..vary nice stance ...a little raised on the front to save the bump stops from bottoming out ...
Biggest fear is the tranny ... a 4L60e would be supreme , reverse pattern shift kit , high stall etc ....might have save this tuners details if i need a future tune ....
Thanks for that, not many people out there actually take the time to tune autos properly but I love it and do plenty of 4L60E’s also as I used to have a blown 10 second VY daily with one lol
@brettstuchbery1672 .. 4L60 apparently rated to 1000hp . So more than enough for street applications ...I got same tranny in SC 6 VX ACCLAIM .. 170 k on clock well looked after. No bottom issues etc . Also have an XD with a 460 BB that's fun to tune . Costly on fuel was thinking of converting to gas research etc ....but selling both cars to acquire a vz monaro. And possibly a LSX crate engine. Later on down the road a magnuson 2300 SC . What's your thoughts good engine and SC combo 🤔
@@pB-ox3qr my experiences with the 4L60E was that they became hard to keep together after I had over 500rwhp so they definitely aren't as strong as these 6L80E's. For an LSX crate engine I would run a 2650 blower if I had the choice as the 2300 runs out of puff as I'm pushing mine to its limits to make my power but it generates a lot of heat too lol.
What exhaust?
It runs a mix of Harrop headers and centre section and Manta (DPE) cats and rear mufflers as that was all we could source at the time but sounds great.
@@brettstuchbery1672 thanks - yeah sounds great!
Still 2.92 diff gears?
It has a Harrop tru track with 3.27 gears
What a car, great review. Keen to get you to tune my VF. And get you to retune my skid car once the new auto is built
For sure mate, keen to tune up some more of your cars and you will slowly come to love the auto life lol
Brett has got two of the sickest cars on your channel man, what a legend hey & that daily is something else what a Commo off its guts brother lol, totally loved this thanks Mr Ross 👍
Thanks for that mate, they are both awesome cars in their own ways and put a smile on my face each time I get to take them out. :)
What size radials ?
They are 275/45/18 drag radials so are actually pretty big and 28” tall so I needed to roll and pump the rear guards to get them to fit lol.
Not to bad for a ss sounds and looks quick but still Rather drive my VZ cluby the VF just missing something good review Ross merry Christmas bro 👍🏎
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 to you too! VZ is always the best for me
We need a run way :D need some 100 -250+ times :P (top end runs) this car would be insane on top end (pending diff raito wasn't to high )
I would be up for some airport high speed runs lol… It has 3.27 diff gears so with the 28” tall drag radials it should be right on the 250km/h zone at the top of 4th with about 7500rpm… ;)
Yeah marks got the best face expressions
I have this as 12-14th quickest car you have tested and 5th fastest Australian made car. Does he daily drive it on Drag radials? How long do they last?
I was happy with the 4.3 on its 3rd attempt even though there is more in it. I definitely don't daily drive it on the drag radials but have them for the 1/4 mile and they came in handy for sending it at full noise on e85 as it was a handful lol.
Fastest commodore tested.. yes just outside the top 10.. also not daily’d on the radials
@@kresnik_ssyeah but not being able to drive in the wet is rather pointless when it’s my daily and it rains here half the time lol
@@kresnik_ssdriving hard in the wet isn’t something that I’m ever keen on lol
Very nice, on these roads the 0-100s are not really indicative of how quick some of these cars are, my daily does about 5 flat as it's not quite enough power to spin that much so it's easy
It’s definitely not easy especially when you get some serious power trying to get to the ground lol
What a build mate! Is it a Harrop 2300 or 2650?
Thanks mate, it's actually the smaller 2300 blower so with it being only a mild 6ltr also I've pretty much maxed it out as there are no smaller pulley combinations left for it so next year I'll play with cooling and see if I can squeeze a little more out of it that way. :)
@brettstuchbery1672 very solid numbers from the 2300!
Is it on E85 or 98?
Never seen a vf this fast before
It definitely is a handful if you're trying to send it at full noise so as the daily you need to drive it very sedately 99% of the time lol.
It’s fast 😈🇦🇺
Just a standard looking white SS weapon and that VX , Go to the garage which one will I drive today?🤔😁.
It's a tough choice but a good one to have. :)
Should do some rolling acceleration tests on the cars you review..
It would be good to show what this car and others are like from 100-200 but you would definitely need to film that on a runway or closed road etc lol ;)
Even just send it right off the line 😁
@@kresnik_ss with this power level it really needs atleast 60-160 and 100-200 to give it a chance at all to try and hook up and keep traction as anything else it's just blazing tyres even the radials lol
@@mrdoiii that is only good for powerskids which are good fun in their own right lol
Ross your face always says it all hahaha
😂 that pull was crazy
@@RossReviewsau those 3rd gear pulls almost take your breath away haha
F.cken hell what a beast. 👍
Thanks for that, it sure is a beast at full noise on the radials. :)
Absolutely 😈🇦🇺
If you're into pulls, auto transmission is what you need.
0-100 auto wins all the time
Tuff tuff vf ss scary
It gets the heart racing that is for sure lol.
🇦🇺😤🤌
Can u test a old school skyline
Only one tuned by Mustafa or Mo
that trap speed jfc
Next time out would be 143-145mph full weight so it’s definitely moving
Nice 👍

I had Wipertech wipers on my 4x4 they were shit 😂 bosch is the only way to go imo
their on my F6 and work GREAT!
Add an electric motor to this…
I bet he works for the CFMEU😂
Lol definitely not as I actually work in IT and use my computer skills to do tuning on LS engines as a side hobby... :)
@@brettstuchbery1672You had that look + Tuned Holden SS and Harley Top=CFMEU 😂
@@WeveGotBushhaha fair point I can see where you’re coming from now lol
Sounds so angry , you could actually see how fast it accelerates on sum off that footage
Video usually doesn’t do it justice but you can see the acceleration in this one to give you an idea lol
A 🐌 compared to the BMW M3 which had more launch control features than Apollo 11
The F80 BMW (4.68secs) didn’t have drag radials on though. But if you’re talking the G80 M3 (2.63secs) - well yeah the poor SS is five cars lengths behind.
I don't really get this comment at all. Plenty of cars faster than the M3 with and without LC. I mean the fastest accelerating cars are pushrods V8 RWD.
@@hellothere4342 I think he’s talking about the AWD G80 M3 that’s was recently tested. It would be quite rare/near impossible that a RWD car with street tyres, without a burnout, on a street surface, getting anything under 4secs 0-100. Mostly 5’s and 6’s is the average. 90% of powerful RWD cars tested by Ross are in the 5-6secs range.
Completely different animals and on over the quarter they would be evenly matched most likely
@MrTroytroy as an avid petrol head, acceleration numbers on the street is rather pointless now that EV cars are here dropping mental times. Oh and being rather affordable too. What I meant by RWD pushrods V8s that's fast are the Top Fuelers. Even as a spectator it was pretty unnerving when you can feel power from a distance.
Why does the exhaust sound like a v6
Doesn’t sound like a V6 to me 💀
what? lol no way
@@RossReviewsau is it the mic used? It has no meat to the sound it’s whiney like a v6 or euro v8
@@willm687 that's the supercharger mate lol
@@tayhlordalton9596 the exhaust whine from the exhaust idk about that
800hp? Really?
Yep 850rwhp, is pretty quick when you are at full noise.
You seen the dyno
@brettstuchbery1672 do you have the CTSV brembo brake upgrade? And VE SV6 18" rims clear them? That's awesome if so.
@@stevenm2656yep you are correct as it has the CTSV upgrade so needs the 19’s on the front but the standard old 18x8” VE SV6 wheels I picked up for $40 clear the rear brakes with room to spare :)
@brettstuchbery1672 Thank you Sir! You just saved me thousands of dollars. Have a good Christmas🙏
