I love these Older Bank notes. I have a few from the 1950’s , two from 1934 and the oldest ones I have are from 1928 and 1929. I even have people looking for them for me at work. Like someone spent a 1929 one hundred dollar bill on their grocery order and my boss saved it for me.
That was cool having alot of of old finds. You turned me on to something when you said tell the teller to save older bills. I'm definitely going to do that especially since my neighbor is a teller & a girl I went to high school with is one, so I know they both will look out. Thanks for the advice, it is greatly appreciated!
The "In God we trust" motto was added to paper currency in the late 50s. Silver certificates dated 1957 have that motto. I was cashing my tax refund check at my bank some years ago and received a bunch of Series 1950 $10 bills. Bills dated 1950 went all the way to 1950E. I have a few 1950D bills. Oddly enough, $1 bills dated 1963A have Henry Fowler's signature on them.
Great old Federal Reserve Notes! Once I got a series 1969 $1 bill that my dad had in his wallet, and although it was folded a bit, it was even a star note! No fancy serial number, though.
The 1977 $20 at 8:25 seal seems to be down a little further then the one before and after it. But not really enough to stand out or be worth anything I think.
I'm new to the error or special serial numbers on Bill's and I have several ( star notes, serial numbers with same 2 digits, ink marks that don't belong, bills I got in change this week from 1995, etc) I'd like to get an idea if they are valuable enough to sell but have no idea how to go about finding out about these bills. Any ideas or suggestions or websites to go to?
How did you get all those old bills and stuff like I get you build a relat and stuff at ur bank but damn dude the amount you spend on Halves every week and then what dump them? And they save older bills for you also? They don't get sick of it and stuff. ?
What is it about bills with a letter under the date I have a few bills with the letter A on them under the date I have to look I don't remember if their a star note or not

I told every body about chase bank with the old bills. I got my $20.00 1977 star note. And in pretty good condition.
nice find Paul! Keep them all! They are all resellable
They're all very common, worth little over their face value.
To date the banknotes, look at the signatures and not the series year.
1950 is a common find for me. I gotten some 1950 10s and 20s. I wonder why so many series?
In a depression, this will become more common.
Old noted are often from people's estates.
Would of kept every bill
Hey paul, on the five the seal is a little off center, and the y in “Henry” is on the s of “secretary”
Ivy baker priest treasurer of the US had her name on 1950s bills. Her daughter was Marilyn on the Munsters tv show
