I wanna see Travis Barker shout you out for this... And the “I can barely play my instrument” before the snare break cracked me up lolol. Great videos man!
The clip is from the Recording sessions of the 2003 record, He's just fucking around here. The guy on the couch is Mark, Blink's Bassist and Co Vocalist. I feel like all the BTS stuff from the recording of that record is awesome. To just see the Creativity and how these guys were for their (In my opinion) greatest record always blows me away!
This is from the 2001 sessions friend, because the logo from MCA are on the video. In 2003, Blink was move on to the Geffen silo at that time, because Universal decides to close MCA activities until today.
@@giullianomartini That may be the case with the Logo, but Travis never stuck around for Recording Until the 2003 record. He always layed down his parts in a day or two then dipped out. For the Untitled record, they all basically lived in that house turned studio with all their gear for like 8 months, then moved to two different studios after the family wanted it back. This is 100% from the recording of that record. He's also waaay more tattooed here than in 2001.
Gotta say I really miss Drumline... I've thought about recording a video like this (me as the entire drumline), but thinking about it and actually doing it are 2 different things. Hats off to you, big props. Cool stuff.
I watched the "Behind the Scene," that made me bring back memories to record some instruments that I played the college's instruments by putting my Macbook pro on a music stand.
To answer the context of this footage, it was from around 2002-2003 when they were recording their self-titled Blink 182 album. They used to have some of these videos on their website back in the day. I remember being so anxious waiting for them to release that album.
this was very cool and anybody who can transcribe that well and willingly does impressed me. i do hate that nobody matches to keep time anymore though.
Dude, you are awesome! I really appreciate what you do! Always look forward to your videos. I hope everyone can appreciate the skills you have. Just amazing!
That’s your best cadence yet, great job! It grooves, it’s marchable, nice and laid back, Excellent job! Loved the ending too, I always laugh at “bass solos” when drummers try to chop out on a bass drum. You played five true bass solos, that’s what a true bass solo would actually sound like! 😂😂
I think this is why for me HBCU style has become my preference... The addition of cymbals and the single tenor drums really adds so much texture and solidifies the groove. It also adds a dynamic element that wasn’t shown in the video... NGL though video was still dope
2:41 He plays a similar lick at the end of a track he did for his 2010 solo album "Give the Drummer Some". Track titled "Beat Goes On ft. Cypress Hill". Crazy lol He also has other solo hip hop/rap projects that everyone should check out!
Dude Travis Barker is one of my favorite drummers of all time and I really like his marching and he playing with his drum kit and he really does his own thing because he’s gonna be a great drummer in the years such as blink 182 transplants and various artists like Yungblud Halsey and Machine Gun Kelly
The guys from Blink-182 are from Poway, which in their day had - and likely still has - a ~ 300 piece marching band. That's something like 1/4 of the size of the school. So when they were saying they could barely play their instruments, they was likely referring to their band instruments. I don't know that for sure, just a theory.
I believe that this house was one of those houses where bands would rent it to record music. It was where blink recorded a lot of their 2003 untitled/self-titled album. Mark Hoppus(bass) and Tom DeLonge(former guitar) also had a longstanding self-deprecation bit where they say have no skill compared to Travis, since they play in a pop punk band. Mark and Tom are well aware that they are not known for having lots of chops, and know that Travis holds all of the talent in the band. Talent just meaning he actually practiced to develop chops, while they can get by playing simple stuff. I used to be, like, embarrassingly obsessed with this band.
I don't know if they actually used any of that in the album, but that video IIRC is from when they were recording the untitled album. They initially had moved into a house for a few months to record the album before getting kicked out and moving into actual studio settings.
Bridgemen83 used to be my handle on Drumlines.org back in the day... My drum instructor played with 27th Lancers and always told us old drum corps stories. Def took me back with this one. Shout out to anyone that was on Drumlines.org!
I would love if you analyzed some jazz drumming. Like maybe a Philly Joe Jones solo? He’s known to be one of the more rudiment oriented drummers in jazz. It would be cool to hear your thoughts!
The internet seems to have a lot of disrespect towards Travis Barker. I never understood it. He's got his own style, he's got chops, he's highly influential. I don't know why people talk trash.
Guessing that was backstage before a show and he was warming up. Might i suggest ... as long as you are taking a looks at GOOD/great drummers... a look at neil peart with accompanying cadence
Don’t forgot Eric, you said you would learn and play through Ryan Larson drumming if a certain goal was met, and I do believe that goal was met a while ago👀
Back when I first watched that Travis Barker video, I thought he might be practicing or recording the chops from Box Car Racer - There Is. But they're totally different, even if you switch the bar 2 beats (so that the 10 stroke roll ends up at the 3, instead of at the 1). So I was wrong.
The only thing I know about this is that the video was taken during the 2003 writing sessions for Blink's self titled album. They bought out a house to write the album and record demos. I'm assuming this was in that house. There wasn't any marching snare in any of the songs, so they weren't recording it. Although they did use a short clip of this video in the "Not Now" music video.

I love that he transposes everything he analyses
The grind is heavy
Always loved how Travis incorporated corps style into his playing.
I wanna see Travis Barker shout you out for this... And the “I can barely play my instrument” before the snare break cracked me up lolol. Great videos man!
Marks a funny guy

a similar lick ended up in a track he did for his solo album. He probably recalled this footage. great stuff!
This is from the 2001 sessions friend, because the logo from MCA are on the video. In 2003, Blink was move on to the Geffen silo at that time, because Universal decides to close MCA activities until today.

Bahah I love how you transcribed the voices too 🤓

This honestly sounds like a cadence I would have marched to around the early/mid 90s
Your videos have been helping me make it through quarentine. I've been watching your videos for seven years!
Love seeing how the fundamentals are so important! Awesome work Eric!
I love how Eric goes as far as transcribing the rhythm when they're talking 💀
honestly have no idea how you don’t have at least a million subscribers. you put so much work into your videos. plus the memes are quality.
Loved the BEE hind the scenes part. Dude, you must have that eagle eye eye sight to be able to read that music from far away. Impressive!
The behind the scenes stuff is awesome. I love seeing the work it takes to make a vision come to life. I appreciate the work.
I watched the "Behind the Scene," that made me bring back memories to record some instruments that I played the college's instruments by putting my Macbook pro on a music stand.
1:44 OMG! Those Slingerland TDRs! SO RAD!
Cheers from Kentucky.
The legendary baron von Tito - aquabats fans will get it
I love mark hoppus in the background “I can barley barley play my instrument”
Most people creating a drum groove use software. Eric does 6:38
And that's what I appreciates about him.
Thank you for another great video Stevie T’s drum doppelgänger

EMCProductions AND Travis Barker!!! Definitely gonna like
this was very cool and anybody who can transcribe that well and willingly does impressed me. i do hate that nobody matches to keep time anymore though.
Dude, you are awesome! I really appreciate what you do! Always look forward to your videos. I hope everyone can appreciate the skills you have. Just amazing!
Nicely done my friend! That definitely took some time and skill!
Appreciate your content! Keep up the good work!

really cool video breakdown! I remember watching the solo as a middle schooler and was blown away.
Fantastic. Comedy transcription and so many shots. Approved ✅
I hope Travis see this - you stuff is great Eric - Semper Fi
im a die hard fan of trav dude. like just IMMACULATE
Nice to see the Bridgemen getting some respect!
EMC, You should totally do a video on the Top Secret Drum Corp and maybe even transcribe what they play.
Your editing would make it SICK!!!

Your vids are awesome Travis barker is a legend you did killed it
they were in studio in 2003 recording their self titled album and the guy on the couch was Mark Hoppus Blink-182's bassist and vocalist.
That was pretty spicy if I do say so myself good sir mighty extraordinary. Great work
Look at the letter count ;)
Well played
I liked the behind the scenes at the end!
Travis might be more popular but I think EMC will slay him in a drum battle
Nah they're both good.
Love this stuff you are a god on the drums dude 🤟🔥
Should have wrote an accompanying part played with a gong hi-hat
5:01 Always surprised by unexpected clips in EMCproductions Videos! 😂🤣🤣
it’s from blink’s what’s my age again music video
Love Travis. Good Morning!
The default blink bridge beat is a snare march of sorts. I'm surprised that people still don't know he marched in high school
He tried out for Blue Devils too. Got cut eventually but that meant he could play in other bands
Very nice. Wish i played when i was in high school then i wouldnt be almost 50 now and wanting to learn to fulfill my dream. But i do enjoy your vids.
More Travis stuff please
Good morning!!!
That was really awesome cought my attention. The editing right on 👏👊✌
Awesome content EMC!!

I really like it so much I wish my school band could do something like that and do split bass because it would be fun to do
Love your vids bruh.
you really make me miss my old drumline from high school lol
I don't know if they actually used any of that in the album, but that video IIRC is from when they were recording the untitled album. They initially had moved into a house for a few months to record the album before getting kicked out and moving into actual studio settings.
Dude you gots tha talent!
Travis would be proud!!!!!
Sweet really enjoyed this one. Thanks.
sent this to travis so hopefully he gets to see it. this is rad
Nice cadence that was sick!
Ah, a reaction video overkill/over achievement in a way that only the USMC can do.
Well done.
Fivelets everywhere! Great job on the cadence
I would have loved to have your as my instructor when I was in highschool.

Guessing that was backstage before a show and he was warming up. Might i suggest ... as long as you are taking a looks at GOOD/great drummers... a look at neil peart with accompanying cadence
Good stuff 👍
I think that tattoos help with aerodynamics.
Love it!
Amazing
Don’t forgot Eric, you said you would learn and play through Ryan Larson drumming if a certain goal was met, and I do believe that goal was met a while ago👀
