    23:54 bananas 🍌 😂 I agree 100% on waiting 10, 15, 30 minutes to trade after the market has opened. A huge leak for me was trading on the very first minute of trading. Now WHY was this a huge leak? Reason #1, way way too volatile and too many times I would buyin with too many shares. Reason #2, I would panic and freeze like a deer in headlights when it goes against me because I have no real market data because I’m trading on the very first candlestick. Reason #3 after big losing trade right on the market open it destroys your day and starting the day down big right in the first minutes of the day, which is draining mentally in itself. Great video!!! Keep enriching lives!

    On 6/9 FLO went to its LWR TGT price of $18.08 based on ATR. It then went back and hit the UPR TGT price of $18.47. If you look at the ATR over the last 15 - 20 days, it provides a very accurate range for the price action. They are dynamic. So for LWR TGT, subtract ATR from High of day. For UPR TGT, add ATR to low of day.

    On a bullish retest, if you miss the initial spike and wait the retest, is there a reason why you can't short on the pull back? I see profit potential on both directions. BTW, I love these videos... I have about 30 pages of written notes off your videos! Keep up the good work!

    • @RealLifeTrading
      @RealLifeTrading  6 лет назад

      Seth Tuler no reason you can’t short. BUT, it’s harder. You need to be much faster with it AND it can lead to over trading as well.
      However, it is a more advanced strategy, but a super fun approach! Great question!!!!

    1:01:19 - 1:03:25 Buy once, sell twice - so is this considered a round trip in regards to PDT? If so, does that mean you can buy once and sell as many times as you want as long as you eventually sell in total the same amount of shares you bought - and still be considered a 1 round trip trade?

    Just started learning about trading (approx. 4 hrs ago) after reading an article you wrote. I started my lessons by reading more articles then watching your part 1 video lesson. I don't know much right now, though I'm a quick study, and became lost when you mentioned support/resistance lines. Do you have a video that explains how to choose these lines on a chart, what they mean, and why they are important or useful?
    I respect and appreciate your reitteration of "Trade in the future" mantra. It's an important practice of habit for many areas of life, not just in trading. Thank you for, both you and your girlfriends, hard work and open source value structure in day trading education; along with your integrity.
    Also what are your thoughts about the 2017 market being generally overvalued across most sectors (most overvalued market in history) and being in a possible market bubble that will possibly burst by 4th Q 2018 (my hope is it plateaus)? Do you have any suggestions on how to prepare for a bear market (recession); trade smater after a bear market hits or how to bet against the economy (which sounds a bit ruthless I know)?
    Do you have any stock suggestions for someone, who I won't mention (*me*), that only has $800 to invest?
    Thanks for your time;

      Thanks so much Rei, for you comment! I Really appreciate it! :-) "Do you have a video that explains how to choose these lines on a chart, what they mean, and why they are important or useful?" I think you'll find the first 4 classes of these very useful. reallifetrading.com/free-products/beginner-trading

      Sure, I agree with you. A LOT of people think it's coming and approaching. BUT until then... we focus on what's happening for sure. Make money with the bull market, right? And when / if it rolls over, we lose small. I'll 'put' them on my future watchlist . Yes, buy the bounce! What I've learned so far can be simplified to this; trade the chart, not the heart.

    On BLUE, the next day it gaps up again. Does this mean that more shorts are trapped? Does this mean that it goes from a bullish retest gap to a bullish gap and go? The next day, the stock runs from the beginning. Do you discuss how or when to get on stocks when they run from opening?

    • @RealLifeTrading
      @RealLifeTrading  7 лет назад

      On BLUE, the next day it gaps up again. Does this mean that more shorts are trapped? Not unless it's a bearish black candle gapping up. Does this mean that it goes from a bullish retest gap to a bullish gap and go? IT's still a bullish retest gap, because it's a white candle gapping up. :)
      The next day, the stock runs from the beginning. Do you discuss how or when to get on stocks when they run from opening?

      Real Life Trading thanks for the response. Been looking at a bunch of stocks and noticed that in a very high percentage of cases when there were 2 or more consecutive gaps the stocks tend to run without displaying the retest wave. They trade similar to a short squeeze or a gap n go. Wait too long and you'll miss the largest part of the trade or miss altogether. I have a hang up or rule that once they travel past ATR target, I try to avoid trading as any retests tend to fail. By fail I mean once they pull back, they tend not to return to HOD let alone go higher. I may need to reevaluate risk/reward in these situations, but in general I try to avoid. Hope I'm making sense and not missing something obvious.
      NVDA this morning was perfect example. 2nd day of gap up in premarket. Took off like a bat out of hell reaching ATR TGT in 5 mins. If you weren't ready to go you missed it. Retest failed and of course once this happened, the giant short seller stepped in...saw him on LVL II....50k shares multiple times. Down she went.
      Gonna check out 3 and 4 of your vids. Thanks again for making the videos by the way.

    • @RealLifeTrading
      @RealLifeTrading  7 лет назад

      "consecutive gaps the stocks tend to run without displaying the retest wave" On the swing trading level - yes. The wave might take weeks to form. But from the DAY trade level, it usually shows up! ;-)
      "I have a hang up or rule that once they travel past ATR target, I try to avoid trading as any retests tend to fail. By fail I mean once they pull back, they tend not to return to HOD let alone go higher."

      Yep. The retest are the profitable traders who were already in, exiting their position.

  • @theSpaghettiKid18

    The example here doesn't make sense. If our R is 100 we have 10k in our account. How can we buy 1,111 shares at 18.32 with 10k account? What am I missing?

    • @theSpaghettiKid18
      @theSpaghettiKid18 4 года назад

      I'm assuming R=1% of account. In order for this trade to make mathematical sense, you'd have to have an R=.10%. (100,000 x .001 = 100) This means you'd have a 100k account and you're risking 18k which is 20% of your account on one trade. That makes sense.

    Hi Jerremy, quick question, at 01:01:46 when we hit our 1/4 target ( I am assuming when we set our plan, we put an exit strategy may be limit sell), would we not be out of the trade as soon as we hit the 1/4 target at 89,97? or the plan should be just on paper and we should not put limit sell beforehand ?
